Nintendo announced on Thursday that Level-5's Yo-kai Watch Blasters: Red Cat Corps (Yo-kai Watch Busters Akaneko-dan) and Yo-kai Watch Blasters: White Dog Squad (Yo-kai Watch Busters Shiroinu-tai) games will ship in North America and Europe on September 7. Nintendo also began streaming an announcement trailer.

The two games have different Yo-kai, missions, and bosses, and players can trade between the games to collect all the Yo-kai. People who own the Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits, Yo-kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls, or Yo-kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters games can link their save data to receive one of three special Yo-kai: Komajiro S, Jibanyan S, or Komasan S.

The Yo-kai Watch Blasters spinoff games allow up to four players to cooperate in battling boss Yo-kai. Players are given case assignments from Commanding Officer Bree, after which they can explore the town, recruit Yo-kai, and fight the big boss behind the case.

The original Yo-kai Watch Blasters games shipped in Japan for the Nintendo3DS in July 2015. The Yo-kai Watch Busters: Getto-gumi (Yo-kai Watch Busters: Moon Rabbit Team) free Nintendo 3DS game update for the games launched in December 15.

Atsushi Ohba launched a manga based on the games in Coro Coro Comicsin May 2015, and ended the manga in August 2015.

The Yo-kai Watch anime entered a "Busters" arc in July 2017. The arc features the characters T-Jibanyan and T-Komasan.
