Hahaha only super mainstream stuff why am I not surprised. I guess thinking a little more of Uni students as a whole was a waste of my time then, I take back saying that they have good taste for choosing Noragami and Yowamushi Pedal. Considering they watch a bunch of sub only stuff I assumed we might see something a bit more interesting, oh well.

from that list, only fma and bebop are to be watched.

Yet I only recently finished Bebop's series and yet to watch the movie, and still haven't checked out FMA beyond starting and stalling it after 4 eps years ago.

Anyway today I watched 11 episodes of True Tears to finish it after watching the first 2 yesterday. It was good but I expected that from PA Works, at first I wasn't so sure on a couple of things and even though a bunch of issues I had weren't explained/resolved I still enjoyed it [despite the obvious romance tag associated with it as well]. I ended up rating it an 8 but I'm not sure since I was torn between giving it a 7 instead. Regardless it was one more good series from PA Works and only makes me more interested to watch Glasslip when it comes out later in the year.

I'm watching Peace Maker Kurogane with my brother. The both of us agree though that so far nothing has really impressed us. Since its rare for me to spend this time watching anime with him, time is a bit of a factor. I know it's a shounen but... can the main plot just get started already?

Also has anyone seen Le Chevalier D'Eon? Thinking of giving this one a go pretty soon.

I have just NOW completed Shakugan no Shana III (Final) I give it a rating of an 8. It surpassed the rest of the seasons and OVAs since the rest were either a 7 or a 7.5. This was well done, the last two eps are what made me give it a rating of 8.0 vs. a 7.5, the people here who've briefly made comments on how S3 was done so differently and so on, well, I'd like to hear exactly how much you enjoyed this season vs. the rest for I in perticulr, enjoyed it VERY MUCH and it was well done/pulled off. Further more I'll add, had hey not of done this, it'd just of been another one of those anime which are the same plot wise as many there's are. Thankfully, this wasn't the case. More thankfully, even though there were times when I thought I'd drop or not finish it up, I m SOO GLAD I continued watching this series. It will forever have a special place in my heart. x) For anyone who dropped, is thinking of dropping or not waning to watch it due to how the series is(As a whole/any part of it etc.), esp because of what you've heard others saying, take it from me when I say the Shakugan no Shana series is a good anime to watch. :)

Natsuru-san I can’t help but feel you’re referencing something there… though I have no idea what. Perhaps different rules apply to gods… (I briefly mentioned in the anime club at uni about my Haruhism, so now I’m kinda almost known as the guy with the kitteh obsession and the god complex [IMG]ll have time to respond to your message. Uni = busy.

You're no God Mafia and even if you do have some sort or real psychic like ability, that'd at best make you a prophet or some other word for it. Also, what, no sadist mention? Np, take your time.

There was the weekly Anime Club meeting today. One of the activities was splitting into groups and picking top ten anime, then polling the results.
With the exception of 4 and to a lesser extent of 9 & 10, all are really good nime but only 5 & 7 are truly must sees which I gave a 10 rating but 8 is very good too. Needless to say, no Puella, no Kämpfer and heck, no plenty of even better anime than what is listed. (All are still good ones though)

@Minisiets Be honest though, what killed it for you?

@sir-maddy Nonexistent plot and paper-thin portrayals of the characters I suppose. I felt like they had a lot of potential but never did anything with them. Every character was exactly the same throughout the entire series and they basically recycled the same types of jokes all the time despite that they were mostly unoriginal to begin with. I dunno, it just didn't click.

    >Higurashi is not on the list
    >No Monogatari
    >No Madoka
    >Shit Art Online is on the list
    >Attack on Shit is on
    >No Nanoha
    >No Humanity has Declined
Shit taste indeed, I bet they loved Boku no Pico too

Madoka was mentioned, but it was over-chosen by I can't remember what.
I did think to myself shortly afterwards, "No one even mentioned Monogatari..."
And yep, at least one person in the room shouted out "Boku no Pico" a number of times.

Hahaha only super mainstream stuff why am I not surprised. I guess thinking a little more of Uni students as a whole was a waste of my time then, I take back saying that they have good taste for choosing Noragami and Yowamushi Pedal. Yeah, it's pretty much that anyone who suggested anything good, not many other people in the respective small groups had seen, so it was lost in the loud discussion. (And people seem to have a vendetta against the Endless Eight for some reason...)

And if it makes anyone of you feel any better, NO ONE seems to be happy with the list when it was posted on FB last night.

@Natsuru-san Reverse-searching that pic leads to an anime I haven't seen, so :p
You’re no God Mafia and even if you do have some sort or real psychic like ability, that’d at best make you a prophet or some other word for it.

Hence why I didn't capitalise the g. I mean I am a different kind of god, like Greek, Egyptian, Norse, Haruhi. ;) (And no, I'm sticking with the title of god cause I have Haruhi power!~)

Oh, and you see how #7 looks a bit rubbed/scratched out? That was me, before I was restrained. ;)

@Natsuru-San since you were probably including me then the ending was better as I non spoilered earlier. Here are my full thoughts

I found the endings for each of the seasons to be the strong points. Every time I felt the anime started to lose me it started to get more exciting towards the end. I just didn't like the last season as much as a whole compared to the ending. The Flame Hazes at the end were portrayed as weapons and this just never felt resolved to me. Kind of sad that the Thousand change guy (the sunglasses guy who turns into many forms) had to die. At least Shana finally hooked up with the main guy.

The music was awesome throughout the whole show and really added to the suspense. Also did you notice how they brought back the girl from the FIRST episode? Excellent tribute right there. I forgot that Shana was disguising herself as that girl.

Overall I give the series a 7 but I feel like it should have been better. This always bothered me about the show. It had a lot going for it. Some people unlike me may easily forgive it's faults at least.

Kind of reminds me of Familiar of Zero but that one decided to go the "harem route" from the second season to the last season. Never could forgive that show for that...

@Mafiacow: HAHAHAHAHA!!! *Chuckles evilly* Mafia, you fell for my trap. >:) You did EXACTLY what I wanted you to do. HAHAHAHAHA! >:) So, what's the name then? >:)

A capitalized G is the almighty God, where as a lower case is a false god. whether I capitalize the g or not, you still aren't a god/God by any means and what I said before is still the case. lol (Natsuru still has yet to watch Haruhi lol)

*Mafiacow starts rubbing away the name Clannad from the list and even tries to replace it with Haruhi*
*Club members shout, RESTRAIN THAT MAD COW RIGHT NOW!!!*
*Mafiacow is restrained and evil/dastardly plan has been foiled. ;)*

Really though, shame on you Mafia. Psst, when you gunna watch Clannad after story? ;)

@Doomguy: I was including you but more so for everyone else who told roughly what you did here and there not only to me but to others in this thread and forum. Because of that, and what MAL said, I ended up fearing it'd be ruined, so I put getting to watching it on hold (Which turned out to be a good thing but still) but really, though it threw many things you "thought you knew about the characters, the fact is, everything in S3 was done well, would have happened and the main reasons why people may not like S3 is because it did things very differently, introduced many new characters (Though to me, they were all welcome, well done, didn't feel weird and felt natural, shame we didn't get to know some of them more though) and threw a wrench into what "we" the viewers thought was the case/going to happen. Sure things could have gone like we thought they were, but as I said, it'd just be another copycat. Thankfully it's not a copycat. As to your spoiler.
Yeah, I had my times where I didn't think it was worth so much time put into the series but over all, it was and hey, least with S3 I never once felt bored, not sure if to continue or not and so on. Well, they pretty much are Doom. That was stated many times throughout the anime. They at the end at least got a new cause which made them more like guardians/watchers vs. weapons. He did die but in the dub, he stats just like Hecaty, he'll be reborn someday too. So, I wasn't as sad about his "death." Yeah well, ;east Margery hooked up with her guy too. Was waiting for that. :)

That it was. Notice? Surely thou jest? I never forgot about Herai and how Shana was masking herself as her. I was so glad to see her return in the end but did you notice the 1st season's song was played during that last ep as well? Excellent tribute I'd say indeed. :) Sadly, as the pic was shown, it would seem no one besides the humans etc. who know of the other world remember Sekai, including his family.

Well, I can forgive its faults but the main one I had was it got boring and hard to continue a couple of times. (Except S3) S2's prob was not enough action and too much SoL where as S1 had an even mix but for some reason, just was hard to feel like continuing the series.

AHAHAHAHAHA! Another harem shit as Maddy would say. As for me, I say I mind a little but now a days harem is all we ever get. Anyway, I've yet to watch that anime and shame only S1 is dubbed of it. :(

Okay got through Le Chevalier D'Eon. Very interesting but also pretty complex. I must admit I got quite lost a few times which is very rare for me. I pride myself in following interweaving storylines but for whatever reason this one at times had me doubletaking on whats going on. I blame the ending, for as exciting and plot twisting as it was there were times when the dialogue took things to a whole other level and I couldn't help but step back and wonder "can't we be a little more...straightforward with this plot?"

Complected plot aside I felt every character in this show contributed a hefty amount. This is quite a feat, even the minor characters help move things along and nothing ever really felt thrown in. If you see a character it's a safe bet they will contribute in a serious manner at some point.

While I did get lost a few times lowering the thrill factor, I still liked this show a lot. It's a serious show that takes itself as such.

"Classified information". Ep 23. I can now has reveal that this Classified information was in fact Kill la Kill~ ;) See my thoughts regarding in the New Release Club thread if you want. But in brief summary, it's a completely overrated anime, and I apparently have an obsession with Band Girl.

Saw some anime reviews on the screens in the APL ("Airport Lounge", unofficial anime club hangout place on campus), and I now have an interest in seeing those Fate anime. And the SAO review said it's a must for anyone who's played an MMORPG, so now I have incentive for that too I guess.

Okay, @Natsuru-san, this part to you is going to be written as if it were actually last night.
Oooookaaaay theeeen... If memory serves, Medaka Box? I'm assuming that the reference too?

God is a god, and not all gods are God. If you've seen my "Witch logic" before, one would probably assume I'd be "trying to disprove one", but I'm not. This is simply my view on how gods are classified. The equivalent I could say would be "*Zues/Ra/Odin* is a god, but not all gods are *Zues/Ra/Odin*"; it's just my classification.

And just letting you know a thing I've recently learned about myself: When I'm of a neutral or just-for-lols opinion of something, and someone or a group of someones expresses a strong opinion of either positive extreme or negative extreme on the topic, I'm very likely to jump to the opposite of the extreme so as to maintain the overall neutrality. Cases and points, my Haruhism, and my opinion on Clannad.

So, ahem. Thou doubteth mine godliness?! Dost thine want to be thrown into a time loop?! Thou should show some respect to thine local god! (Accept it or ignore it, saying I don't have god powers is only going to make it worse. ;) )

    How it actually went:
*Mafiacow rejects Clannad and One Piece being in a top ten list, and proceeds to rub them off*
*They are both rewritten by one of the club leaders*
*Mafiacow goes to rub them off again*
*Mafiacow gets halfway through scratching out Clannad before his arm is ripped away from the whiteboard and is properly restrained*
*Mafiacow is saddened that his noble cause is foiled by villains*

Kukuku~ I only do this because I view it as completely average, while others seem to love it, therefore, it is overrated and must be brought down. ;3
Wow, amazing timing on the asking, cause I actually just finished downloading it this morning. (Haruhism or just coincidence?) As for when I'll watch it... it might be on the Easter holidays when I get a week off from uni, so can concentrate on getting through it without distraction. Since everyone is saying no one doesn't cry, I'm taking this into consideration, giving that that week would be a good time to do so. (But I'm still "Challenge accepted" ;P )

Also, now that you've seen Clannad, would you agree in my viewpoint that Nyan Koi! is similar to it; a harem where he's only interested in the one girl, and it's that awkward style of romance that I hate?

    Log Horizon. Ep 25.

I'm currently watching a series, once finished I might move onto either the dub of To Love Ru or the dub of Case Closed. Does anyone know if TLR is fully dubbed for all it's seasons and where I can find a stream of it all dubbed and uncensored/unedited?

@Mafiacw: Correct! I've searched for the pic I was going to post for when you got it but can't find it. :( Instead, found this one and seeing as it's Monday, feel this is a nice sub till I find the pic. (If at ever)

Seeing as Negi already said what I was trying to sa, I'll just skip this. (Thanks Negi)

Sooo, in othe words if I said I hated Clannad you'd say you love it just to support it? (Either way I love Clannad)

    and , skip. :p lol

Well, you did good service trying to erase One Piece but you became he villin when you crossed the line and tried to erase Clannad, you villain you. ;)

THAT'S BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T SEEN ALL OF IT MAFIA!!!!! lol It's one thing to say that AFTER you've seen it all but you haven't. lol
Coincidence I'm sure but, Easter is a month away, dats too long. lol Ah well, take your time with it, enjoy it and let us know wen you start and finish watching t and if you cried or not. :)

Also, now that you’ve seen Clannad, would you agree in my viewpoint that Nyan Koi! is similar to it; a harem where he’s only interested in the one girl, and it’s that awkward style of romance that I hate?

NO! lol In Clannad you know yourself that in S1
the girls all gave up on him when they saw it was only Nagisa he cared about in that way. This is further shown how it's not a harem in after story. Watch it, see for yourself.
So again, no, it's not similar to it at all to Nyan Koi or the example you gave.

@minisiets Understandable, though I don’t understand what you would be expecting considering it’s a show that runs on “WTF” juice.

@sir-maddy Given the anime's characters and themes, I don't think it is too unreasonable to have expected something along the lines of Angel Beats in terms of feeling and story progression. I generally don't give action series a pass just for having mindless action and likewise I'm not going to give Zombie a pass just for having mindless comedy. It's lazy writing.

Anyways, still on episode 5 of Magi. I've barely watched anything lately because I've been playing through the F/SN visual novel. Gonna need to get caught up soon...
