Mega evolutions are an abomination and Beedrill having one only makes Butterfee better in comparison.

My name is Crystal, I'm 21 soon 22 ( not excite at all ). I'm from South Africa xD. YES we have internet here if you didn't know.
I just started watching anime recently and don't know everything there is to know, I guess my first anime was DBZ and Pokemon but I don't really want to call those my first animes.

Hi all

So yeah, new forum and the obligatory "this is me" post... Why does it always feel like the first day at school? Anyhoo, I'm a chap from the UK who started watching anime in the early 80s with simple things like Voltron and through the years grew to be a huge fan of horror (3x3 Eyes, Hellsing), Medieval types (Lodoss, Arislan) and Mecha (Guyver, Evangelion) more than all. About 12 or 15 years ago my career got totally in the way of everything and I stopped watching pretty much anything fun and so am only now rediscovering my love for it but so much has passed me by.
I've tried the ones friends suggested such as Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist and Naruto but they all bored me due tot he repetitive nature of the writing and Attack on Titan was a little better but the bleakness prevented it from being enjoyable.
I'd love to hear what people can suggest as both my wife and I would like to catch up but really don't know where to start!
So yeah, work prevents me still from being an overly prolific poster but I will try to contribute

Welcome to the board! Since you like Mecha, you might be interested in Knights of Sidonia. The style is CGI-based however, so it might be a completely different experience (visually at least) than something like Mobile Suit Gundam, Voltron, Evangelion, etc.

You might also be interested in checking out What Anime Should I Watch Next? and posting a criteria (if you have specific genre or styles you like or want to try) or if you want to watch any type of anime one of our forum members recommend if you're open to any genre or style of anime. You can also try looking at Recommend Me Animes[sic] for ideas on everyone else's favorites they've posted about when they recommended a list for Vishal09x to watch when he started the thread.
