Darn, that was the only villain that I could come up with that's not already nominated. Hmm, I'll keep thinking.

Even though I know he can't be nominated, let me explain why I feel he's a villain. The follow may spoil Madoka if you have yet to watch it.

Kubey has contracted hundreds to thousands of girls into becoming Magical Girls. As a result, they later be come Whitches and the seeds from them are of some kind of power for is race (his motive). Kubey deceives and leaves information out to get a contract out of these girls. If you've ever read the manga, you'd have seen his huge evil smile. Now I do agree that he's not a convenal villain, but a villain all the same.

I've only seen the anime, so my knowledge is probably lacking, but...
His "motive" is saving the universe from energy loss, if it's at the cost of one species/planet, then that would make him more of an anti-hero than a villain.
"Deceives and leaves information out"... Well it's the girls' own fault for not reading the contract. You're supposed to read something before you sign it, right? "If something seems too good to be true, it probably is." Have they never heard that before?
And I think I remember him saying something along the lines of that he would have told them had they only asked.

 

That's the thing. From a utilitarian standpoint, Kyuubey's not a bad guy, in fact he's arguably good. From a deontological standpoint, Kyuubey is the very definition of evil. It all matters on what system you base your interpretation on. The problem with using the argument that I used for Light in that other thread for QB is that he's not the protagonist, and it is very clear that his actions are wrong, as

Madoka finds a workaround that they should have found in the first place. Within the context of the story, the fact that he never thought to eliminate that possibility, as well as being the source of all misery of the antagonist makes him a relatable villain, but a villain all the same.

So I think Kyuubey is a villain. Even if he can be argued as not having had that bad of a motive, his context and the details are very indicative of him being a villain.

Does anyone feel that Ull was the only one who did this regarding spoiler characters? To lazy to flip back, but maybe some of you could have used spoilers if you were unsure of you votes. Hell, even Noobs did it when he nominated his character.

Which basically means he's an Anti-Villain. An Anti villain is sorta in the grey area like an anti hero but unlike an Anti-hero who helps the good guys for selfish motives and Anti villain will do horrible things and play the part of the villain for what, at least from his point of view, is a noble cause. A good example of this is Magneto who simply wants to protect mutants but goes about it by committing crimes against humanity and attacking anyone in his way.

Well it just adds more variety. Having different characters from different shows face off is what makes this interesting. Just having a popularity contest between guys from the same series isn't nearly as interesting. That is why I discouraged it earlier. It's not against the rules or anything but making things more varied and not taking to many from any one series seems more fun to me.
