So, I noticed no one has made a thread about this yet. What is everyone's favourite soundtrack(s)? Are there any you are currently listening to? Why is it your favourite? Also, are there any particular tracks that you like from the video game?

At the moment, I'm listening to the Diablo 3 soundtrack. Never realised how awesome it actually was. I haven't played the game in a while. But, when you listen to the music separately, it sounds wonderful!

(Edit): Also, who is your favourite composer?

    Mine would have to be:

    Nobuou Uematsu,
    Koji Kondo,
    Russell Brower,
    Matt Uelmen,
    Junichi Masuda,
    Yoko Shimomora,
    Grant Kirkhope.

Share any songs/pieces of music from video game soundtracks you think others may enjoy!

Final Fantasy VIII and Guild Wars have lovely soundtracks, Golden Sun and Zelda also has some great music.

I have various tracks from many different games in my main WMP playlist, so I listen to them all the time.

Jeremy Soule is best known for the music of the Guild Wars and Elder Scrolls series.
Motoi Sakuraba creates the music of the Golden Sun series.
I too of course like Nobuo and Koji.

The Mega Man 2 soundtrack is flippin' great. It's hard to believe that the composer never really went anywhere. I also really love the Ocarina of Time, FF7, Peraona 3, Super Mario RPG, Jet Set Radio, and Nights into Dreams soundtracks.

    My favourite composers are:
    Nobuo Uematsu
    Koji Kondo
Yoko Shimomura (these top three worked together on SMRPG and it was legendary)
    Shoji Meguro
    Ippo Yamada
    Grant Kirkhope
    Daiki Kasho

Soundtracks are a difficult one because I have SO MANY that I like; I'l list what albums I have on my PC or what I can remember...

Devil May Cry 3, (Hearing a metal-esk-electronic music is always awesome while kick the living crap out of devils, also the song "Devils Never Cry" is plain awesome.)

Persona 3 & 4, (Due to it's REALLY awesome battle music that just gets stuck in your head. Plus it's English which makes it funny because well... Japanese game, based in Japan...)

The Last Remnant, (Awesome metal music while battling... with it also changing to even "awesomer" music if you're kicking butt.)

Bayonetta, (Hearing a remix version of Fly Me to the Moon is something you don't hear too often!)

Jet Set Radio, (The game was based on music for crying out loud! What's not to like about it?)

BlazBlue, (Do I really need to say WHY!?)

    Guilty Gear, (^Repeat above statement!^)

Bastion, (The soundtrack is what made this game just fantastic, old western sounding music within a post-apocalyptic style universe... Enough said.)

That's All I can remember for soundtracks... at least for now. I'm not going into the generics that EVERYONE likes, for example like Metriod, Mario, Final Fantasy or even Chrono Trigger, we all like them; it's pretty much said by ALL video game fans by now. As for composers, I'm not one to really like someone over another in that regard. BUT if I had to pick one composer I liked the most it'd have to be the legend himself.

    Daisuke Ishiwatari

Xenogears absolutely. Yasunori Mitsuda had his golden moment here. He also was terrific in Chrono Trigger.

Well as for soundtracks my favorites are, Guilty Gear, Blazblue, Tales of Symphonia, Majora's Mask, Xenoblade and the Baten Kaitos series. Guilty Gear is probably my number one though.

As for composers I'd say Grant Kirkhope, Motoi Sakuraba, Nobuo Uematsu, Daisuke Ishiwatari, Martain O'Donnel (might have gotten that wrong), Koji Kondo and who ever did the music for Xenoblade

He he, some of my favourite soundtracks are:

    Final Fantasy 6, 7, 9, and 10

    Double Dragon 1, 2, and 3

    Banjo Kazooie,

All of the Legend of Zelda games, (except Link to the Past, Oracle of Ages and Seasons, as I have yet to play those) Also excluding The Adventure of Link, really didn't like that game LoL.

All of the Kingdom Hearts games,

    Chrono Trigger,

All of the Pokemon games as well, (except for Pearl, Diamond and Platninum, those soundtracks just didn't appeal to me at all).

    Grandia 1 + 2,

    Breath of Fire IV,

    The World Ends with You,

All of the Golden Sun games as well.

I think we can also all agree OC ReMix (OverClocked ReMix) needs an honourable mention for video game soundtracks!

Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4 [I'm a rock fan. Not many people may agree with me, but it sets the perfect mood for the game].

Dark Cloud 2 [Old style instrumentals that again, give the game that nostalgia feeling].

Flat Out Ultimate Carnage [Nobody knows this one, but an awesome rock soundtrack is an awesome rock soundtrack. It also got me addicted to Dead Poetic...]

These were the first that popped into my head.

Thanks for sharing the OverClocked Remix Plasma! I had no idea this site even existed. I am checking out some of their stuff now.

They've even remixed the Wild Arms soundtrack! xD Wild Arms is another favourite of mine.

Ah, I haven't played any of the others. They never released the 2nd one over here. But, I can get the third one quite cheap. All the others seem to be really expensive.

2 is on ps1 so you can probably download an emulator and play the rom. And if your computer is good enough to run a ps2 emulator you can probably do the same with the others.

Dont know anything about grandia but that sounds pretty good. When i think of game sound tracks the first ones i think of are persona 4, kingdom hearts, Zelda games (ocarina of time mostly), and the fallouts
