After Asami walked around the halls of the castle closest to Cereza's room, He headed towards the princess's room to stand guard. He had to make sure that everything was secure. Might have been going overboard, but it was him that allowed a demon to escape that day and that really had him worried. As he rounded the corner He saw that Ran was already standing watch beside Cereza's door.

"So, I'm guessing Cereza's already retired to her room?" Asami smiled a little as he took his place.
"she's really lucky to have the powers that are coming to her, but then again there are a lot of people who would like that kind of power."
He glanced over at Ran and smiled. "It's a good thing we're here guarding her, isn't it? Did you happen to hear what the seer had to say tonight?" Asami asked Ran. They where going to be up all night so what better way to stay awake and alert then by talking.

OOT: This is based off an anime i watched, its my favorite ever in the world. Im really bad at descriptions so i included pictures.

The gem is now activated, the contract has been accepted. "Materialise", a light came over me, as both the ring and ears ring shined bright and as the light vanishes from the transformation, a new Lena appeared, Dressed in a metal type Blue, white and green robe, she stood before the princess, and bowed on one knee and kissed the ring.

"Princess, this is however not my true form, this is only the second". "To activate the final form, you must grant me the authorization to activate my final form: the Blue Sky. However, i'll show you that another time"

BOLT FROM THE BLUE SKY" (Within seconds a two pointed sword appear, its a blue crystal sword with the power to extend. "Princess, this is my weapon, its a way in which i channel my powers to fight, i can summon it at any given time, however only after you activate the gem". "When attacking or blasting a wave from this weapon, it extends and my hair turns gold like my grandmother and her power helps me" "Is their anything more you'd like to know?

"Y-yes, Sir." The servant immediately felt that his presence wasn't wanted.
"I'm just here because I thought I saw Lady Eadoin come in here." He looked at Megido and started to wince slightly. "I... I... I mean..."
Megido began to get agitated as the servant began to inquire about Eadoin's whereabouts.

Eadoin peeked at the two men from around the bookshelves and wondered what could've been so important that it would prompt a servant to come into Megido's domain without being requested to be there. She debated whether or not to come out of her hiding spot, but waited a bit longer to see what was so important. More importantly, she was curious as to whether or not Megido was going to deck the guy.

"My Lord," Methuzela bowed deeply, "I swore I heard Eadoin's voice answering yours." That last sentence was what broke the camel's back. Megido immediately stood up and lunged at Methuzela.
Not caring, the servant began to get cockier. "I'm sure you're aware of what the others say when they see her come in here. Aside from that, she's done nothing since she's taken the throne." He smirked, "And, I've heard Astaroth has gotten out."

"That is ENOUGH!" Eadoin came out from the shadows of the shelves. "How DARE you speak to your superiors like that, let alone speak about your queen with that sort of tone." She was seething with anger.
"Megido, do with him what you wish. I will not stand for insolence like this. But first allow me to deal with this scum."

She grabbed Methuzela by the collar and threw him against the door, "What was this about me not doing anything?" She looked over her shoulder and smirked at Megido, inviting him to follow her and the servant demon if he wished.
"Come on, we're going to go do something. You're going to take me to where Astaroth is."

Methuzela lost all color in his face and opened the door to lead Eadoin and Megido out of the room only to be greeted by a small group of 10-15 more lesser demons huddled together like they were listening to what was going on between Eadoin and Megido then eventually what was going on between their comrade and Megido.

"What's this?" She yanked his collar tighter and handed the demon to Megido.

Megido glared viciously at Methuzela as he slammed him into a nearby wall, holding him by his collar.
"It really is such a hassle when the huddled masses fall out of line."
Speaking coldly, Megido quickly drew a knife and pointed it at Methuzela's right eye, holding it only about an inch away.
"After such brazen insolence towards Lady Eadoin, the thought had crossed my mind to kill you where you stand. But never let it be said that I am the sort of man to let my anger overtake my good judgment."
He threw the demon on the ground and held him in place with his foot.
"Make no mistake. You are alive only because I have just found a use for you."

He smiled wickedly, clearly showing his contempt for this demon that he felt was below him.
"I have always been curious as to just how strong this Astaroth really is. You will be my test subject. Even a small honor such as that is no doubt too good for the likes of you, but I will allow it for the sake of time. Even if you were worthless in life, you will at least serve some purpose in death by engaging Astaroth in single combat so that Lady Eadoin and I will have a better idea of just how to defeat him. And in case you were wondering, you have no choice in the matter. If you try to run, I will kill you right now. It would only be fitting for a fool such as yourself who does not know his proper place."
He then looked over at the other demons with the same smile still on his face.
"As for the rest of you gossiping mongrels, I assume there are no objections to this? If there are, I would be more than happy to give Astaroth more target practice to deal with. Who knows? One of you may even be fortunate enough to land a single scratch on him."
He turned his attention back to Methuzela and kicked him hard enough to throw him down the hall about 10 feet.
"Go on. Lead the way, decoy number one."

Lucius couldn't help laughing loudly when he head this.
"Well...that is a new one. I never thought I'd hear a priest invite me out for a drink!"
When he calmed down, he took a second to think about Tyr's invitation.
"As much as I'd like to, I'm not sure if I should. I mean, the captain of the guard should always be alert and focused. Although it has been a while since I've taken time to relax...but what if we're attacked and I can't fight at my best?"
He kept going back and forth in his head, but as he looked at Tyr's wide smile and his eyes that seemed filled with expectation, he could almost hear Turin's voice in his head.
"Yes...I'm sure he would tell me to "just go with it" or something like that."
After muttering under his breath for a moment, he put his arm around Tyr's shoulder and nodded back with a smile.
    "Just one drink. That's it."

That was close...way too close. When she said something about my father, I thought she would figure it out for sure. It sounds like she's got a pretty interesting story, but I don't think she wants to talk about it so I'll try not to dig too deep. I just hope she returns the favor. Deciding to make myself comfortable, I lay down on the grass and smile back at Celest as she tend to her flowers.
"Thanks for the offer, I might just take you up on that. But not quite yet."
I think about how to answer her last question...
"Well...I don't think it really matters too much which town you come from, it's more about where you decide call home, right? Even though I don't know my way around here as much as I should, I love this town."
I smile as I fondly remember the other times I've left home to walk around town.
"Everywhere you go, people are smiling. Even if you're a complete stranger, they'll give you a friendly greeting like they've known you for years. There's a lot of things to like about this town. The food is great, the artists make some beautiful paintings, we've got some talented writers that can come up with some really good plays, the list goes on. No matter who you are or what you're into, you'll never be bored here. I know it's not perfect. We've got problems here just like any other place out there. But everyone here just seems so...alive, you know? It makes me happy to be here. I'm proud to call this town my home."
    ...
Where did all of that come from?! That went a lot farther than I wanted it to. After making a complete idiot out of myself, I think I can feel my face heating up a little. I clear my throat and try to move on as quickly as possible.
"Uh...yeah, so I think this place is pretty good. How about you? What do you think of this town?"
I can't believe I said all of that to a complete stranger. And then I didn't even bother to change the subject...

Cereza was quite surprised, by Lena's display of power. She tilted her head slightly...this was something her father usually did in choosing who'd be in the Elite Guard...she'd even seen her mother do the same in choosing who her attendants would be.
Cereza straightened her stance, and sat on her bed. "I don't think I need to know anything else." She said finally. "Though I probably should get ready for bed, before my brothers scold me for staying up late."

"Well then, ill be going as well, ill come back in the morning".

"Rena, can you show me around the palace?"

Well the princess is asleep, i still don't know where my room is. Ugh, i am hungry. I wonder what they eat here. Probably some amazing food, considering its like a rich people type place, leaving out the fact people are after the princess's life. My contract is made, i now share my life source with her, i need to protect her, if she goes down, i do too. That's the sad part i guess, but it's my destiny. Thinking about this makes my stomach churn. "Rena, i'll wait for you outside, im pretty hungry" I walked to the door and stood outside waiting for Rena. As i stand , it think, what will happen, who will win, the demons? us? what does the future have in store for me, the princess and Rena?

"Well...I don't think it really matters too much which town you come from, it's more about where you decide call home, right? Even though I don't know my way around here as much as I should, I love this town."

She paused a moment to think this question over.
"Now that I think of it, I suppose your right"
she looked over at her house that she now calls home. She never really had a place of her own and she put a lot of work into it and her garden. She looked down at the roses and smiled
"This is a lovely town, the people here are nice. I'm really not one to mingle with them, but the few occasions I have gone to town for supplies, the people here were very helpful, and friendly. I've put a lot of work into this place to call it home"
    She looked over at him
"Have you mingled with them, gotten to know some of the townsfolk?"
she turned and clipped a couple roses to put into a vase later
"I've never really taken the time to get to know any of them. I've pretty much keep to myself" 'for reasons'
"I think you are the first person who I have actually spoken to since....."
she stopped herself from saying any more and decided to change the subject
"Would you like something to drink? I'm sure a wandering swordsman like yourself would be thirsty after your travels, maybe even hungry?"
she snipped the last rose before turning to him and giving him a friendly smile

I can't help but wonder where the rest of that thought was going, but I decide to leave it alone. Hey...if she doesn't ask, I won't either. Besides, it's actually kinda fun that we both have some secrets. It adds a little bit of mystery to what's already been a pretty interesting night.

I gotta say, I'm pretty touched that she'd offer some food and drink to a complete stranger. I knew I liked something about her. I smile brightly and nod back to her.
"Yeah, definitely! Thanks for the offer, that's very kind of you. If you can cook as well as you tend your garden, I know I'm in good hands."
Come to think of it, I haven't had anything to eat or drink since the Seer came by, so I'm glad she offered.
"And to answer your question, we're kinda in the same boat. I've done a little mingling here and there but I don't really know anyone in town. This is the longest I've talked to someone around here, that's for sure. It just comes with the territory of being--"
Whoops, almost let something slip right there. Bring it back, Turin.
"...Being the new guy in town. How about you, how long have you been here? It must be a little while since since you've put some time into this garden, but I just can't believe that a nice, cute girl like you isn't more popular around here."
With a wry smile plastered on my face, I let my eyes wander around the garden, not looking at anything in particular.

    Celestine smiled
"Well you came to the right place, its been a while since I had anyone to cook for"
She gathered her roses she clipped and bundled them neatly in her arm while she listen to him, when he cut off his sentence she looked at him with a raised brow, but decided not to mention anything. 'who is this guy?'
how long have you been here?

She blinked out of her thought then shook her head
"Not long, I just moved here before winter came."
She blushed when he called her cute but turned her head away to keep him from seeing her blush
"I used to plant little gardens as a child in my parents house. Now that I have my own and have all the time in the world since I left the..."
she paused and looked down at her roses realizing she had almost slipped again
"I've had more time to myself so I was able to work on this garden everyday getting it to where it is now"
She smiled as she ran a finger over one of the rose petals.
"I wonder if I would send some to the castle, they would accept them"
    she looked up at him
"the roses I mean, I have plenty of them and it lookes like the castle could use a little color"
    she looked towards the castle
"at least from here is does"
She started walking towards the house
"I'll take you through the backdoor, no point in going around to the front"
She smiled taking he time to allow him to follow her

"Huh...I never thought about it that way."
It's been my home for my entire life, so I guess it just never occurred to me, but...I guess the place could use a little sprucing up. I don't know what Father would think of 'em, but I'm pretty sure Mother and Cereza would like them, so I'm sure they'll bring him around. I think I'll take her up on that offer.

    I smile back to her.
"Sounds good to me, that way I get to take a little tour of your place."
From my relaxed position, I quickly jump to my feet and catch up to her.
"Hey, about those roses. I happen to be taking a trip to the castle tonight, so I could bring them over if you'd like. I'm sure once they get of glimpse of those beauties, they'll jump at the chance to find a place for them."
I let out a confident laugh.
"Just leave it to me. I might not look it, but I can be pretty persuasive when I need to be. I'll make sure they're taken care of and put to good use."
When we make it to the backdoor, I motion to the inside of the house.
    "After you."

Celest looked at the roses in her hand
"These ones I picked for the house, but I would be more then happy to send some with you"
She stepped inside the house. When they stepped inside they found themselves in a rather small room with another door. In the room several gardening tools hung on the walls, next to the door was an old apron that showed it was well used, the fabric was frayed and there were some holes in it. She turned to look at him
"Don't mind the mess in this room, this is where I keep my gardening supplies. The kitchen is right through this door"
She reached out and opened the door and stepped inside allowing him to step in as well. She walked over and places the roses into a small vase and set it in the middle of the table. She gave them a quick look over before heading over to the fire. Not sure what to make for him to eat she decided to ask
"Is there anything particular you would like to eat?"
She knelt down and after a few tries manage to have the fire lit

I take a good look around the house as we walk through it. It's not quite what I'm used to, but I kinda like it. It's cozy and warm. When she mentions the gardening tools, I take a good look at them.
"So, these are the tools of the trade. I've seen tools like these from time to time, but I've never actually picked one up myself. Wait, I take that back, there was that one time...my sister is really into this kind of thing and she tried to get me into it once when we were kids. I didn't have the green thumb for it like she does, so I've left everything gardening-related to her even since."
    I chuckle a little.
"I'll admit, I probably didn't put as much effort into as I could have, but back then I was kind of obsessed with practicing my swordsmanship. I've learned to take it easy these days, but I probably still put in a little more practice than I really need to. Just a little, though."

I think about it for a moment and shrug.
"Anything with meat in it is fine with me, thanks."
Just then, I remember something that she told me earlier.

"Hey, speaking of training, you said something about the army wanting to recruit you, right? I don't think the army makes house calls too often, you must have a heck of a sword arm!"
Hold on...I might be touching on a sensitive subject here, so I'd better choose my words carefully. She seemed kind of upset when she thought I was trying to recruit her.
"So, um...if you don't want to, just forget I said anything, But I was thinking, if you're up for it, maybe you and I could have a friendly sparring match sometime. I understand not wanting to fight in a war, but a good sparring match can actually be pretty fun if you find the right partner. I've tried asking a few friends of mine, but they're usually too busy or they just don't want to. What do you say, wanna try it? You might even like it."

Cereza, not being able to sleep, got out of bed, and walked over to her bay window. She sat on the built in seat under the window, and opened it slightly, to allow a breeze to fill her room. Usually this was enough to allow her to fall to sleep...however, on this night, Cereza did not think it would be enough. She rested her head on her arm, and started up at the night sky. Every once in awhile the breeze would carry with it the scent from the garden below, bringing with it a slight smile to Cereza's face.
'I wonder what happens now?' Cereza thought to herself.

As Asami stood watch with ran, he couldn't help the feeling that the princess was the only target tonight. He tried to shake it off since he was supposed to stand guard at the princess's door, but still, he trusted his instincts and gut feelings a lot. They have not been wrong even once in his life, and when he did manage to not listen to them in the past it always ended badly and ultimately proving those gut feelings right. He looked towards Ran as he checked his sword.
"Ran, I'm gonna go check on Zyxll. I have a feeling that I really need to check up on him." After saying that he turned and started to walk away.
"gaurding the princess by yourself for twenty minutes shouldn't be too hard of a task for a master swordsman like yourself, shouldn't it?"
he said as he started walking backwards and smiled.
"Don't worry, shouldn't take long. once i check up on him, make sure everything alright I'll be back."

Asami got to Zyxll's room and knocked on the door and anouncing himself before entering.
"Zyxll, It's Asami of the elite guard. I'm coming in to check up on you." He said as he opened the doors and entering Zyxlls room.
"I had a gut feeling that I needed to check up on you."

Celest disappeared for a moment then returned with a chunk of meat. She pulled out a sharp knife and started chopping the meat up into cubes. She then chopped up some vegetables. She gathered everything up and placed it into the kettle over the fire, added some water she had in a pitcher and threw in some spices before pushing the kettle over the fire.
She turned wiping her hands on her apron while thinking of a way to answer him, her cheeks were slightly flushed when he mentioned her having a 'heck of a sword arm". She glanced over at a wall where a sword and shield hung. Hoping not to make it obvious she quickly looked back at him
"I think I will pass, as much as I would love to I gave up sparing a while ago"
She turned and knelt down at the fire. She always enjoyed the warmth of it. She took a peek into the kettle and the water was starting to bubble. She took a spoon she had hanging next to the fire and stirred the food in the kettle
"I hope beef stew is ok with you"

Well, it didn't take her very long to shoot down that idea. I nod back to Celest when she mentions beef stew.
"Sounds good to me, it's been a while since I've had a good stew."
While she's working in the kitchen, I let my eyes wander aimlessly around the house. My eyes catch a sword and shield set hanging on a wall. Well, how about that...it looks like she's been doing a good job of maintaining them, too. I smile wryly and stoke my chin a little. Maybe I do have an opening, after all! I let out a heavy, exaggerated sigh.
"Sigh...it's too bad about that sparring match, though. It seems that my search will continue."
Now I've really gotta sell it! I start hamming it up, trying to sound as overly dramatic as I can.

"And so the lone warrior Talon continued to wander the land, hoping to find a worthy rival! His quest led him to many exotic lands where he met many wonderful, honest souls along the way but alas, none of them could sate his hunger for a true duel. How he longed for such an epic clash, the sort that would be written of in storybooks for children to read and sung among the greatest of bards for ages to come! But he never met anyone-- nay, not a single soul-- who could provide him that exhilarating challenge. Woe unto him; the poor young hero who is simply too skilled for his own good! He stands alone, intoxicated with victory upon a hill of blades-- victorious, surely enough-- yet that victory feels empty and hollow. Why, you may ask? For there are none in the land who are worthy to be called his equal, none whom he can truly consider his peer. And so the warrior continues on in solitude, hoping, praying and wishing to the stars above that he may one day find someone to call his equal. Someone...to call his comrade."

I pretend to wipe away a tear from my eye and look over to Celest again. With a little bit of a chuckle, I go back to my normal voice.
"So, did that do anything for you?"

Zyxll turned around from his study and smiled towards Asami, he was relieved that he had checked up on him. He smiled warmly towards him, got up from his study, and greeted him. "Sit anywhere you would like Asami, After all you are like family." He turned back to his study and continued reading his tomes, this time it wasn't restoration Magic he was studying it was illusion, however he also had a restoration book on the side of him he was trying to create hybrid spells.

"Asami, I've been working on a new incantation, I am uncertain if it will work and I understand if you say no, But I wish to try using it on you. What ever it may do to you do not be panicked I can reverse the affect just as quickly as I put it on you. I just need you to trust me on this one." Zyxll stood up and waited for Asami to give him an answer.

Celest gave the stew another good stir. As she stirred the stew she listened to his dramatic speech about how he had hoped to find a worthy rival and what not. She looked over her shoulder with a raised brow as he pretend to wipe a tear away. It was then he chuckled and asked if it had done anything for her. She sighed and looked over at her sword and shield on the wall. She would love to but she swore she would never pick them up again. She then looked at the stew which was now ready. She grabbed a few bowls from a nearby cupboard and pour herself and him a serving. She walked over and placed a bowl in front of him and sat at the opposite side of the table. She was quiet for a moment while spooning her stew around. She then looked up at him
"Fine I will spar with you. I will warn you I am a little rusty"
She looked back at her sword
"Its been a while since I have picked up my sword"
She then turned back to face him taking a bite of her stew. When she swallowed she continued
    "On one condition"
She took another bite for a dramatic pause, he wasn't the only one who could be dramatic. She then raised a brow
"If I win, you tell me who you really are..."
She awaited his response on the deal

Asami looked around Zyxll's room as he thought about it. He took some deep breaths as he got himself ready and looked at Zyxll.

"Well I've already had a bad day so why not? And everyone needs to try new things out, right?" Asami gave Zxyll a smile as he walked into the center of the room.

"And I've known you long enough to trust you enough to test a spell out on me! that is as long as none of them will dis configure me or take me out all night. I still have a job to do after all."
He tried his best to loosen his body up, but some parts of him where still a little tense. As if his own body was trying to tell him something.

"I can't tell you how many times I shocked myself trying out and mastering new Technics. I'm sure you can't do anything worse short than killing me, and maybe loosing a limb."

He took in a couple more deep breaths as he got himself ready and made sure one last time.
"I'm ready when you are..." Asami said as his mind was shaking to go crazy over what was gonna about to happen.

When Celest puts one of the bowls down in front of me, I wait for her to sit down before taking my first spoonful. When she does, I take my first bite.
    ...
Wow, this is great! It's so good, I'm starting to think that the chefs back at the castle have got some serious competition now. One thing that really stands out is the herbs and spices; this is just a hunch but I think she might be growing some of them in that garden of hers. With a smile on my face, I'm just about to compliment her when she speaks up first.

I blink a few times in disbelief. She just said yes, didn't she? Now that's more like it! I can feel myself getting pumped up already. She says she's rusty, but I get the feeling this is gonna be a match for the ages! I'm already starting to imagine it, but hearing her speak up again snaps me out of it.

I instantly tense up. I don't know what she's gonna say, but I get the feeling I'm not gonna like it. I can feel a bead of sweat forming on my forehead as I wait for her to speak up again. Seconds pass by ever so slowly...tension fills the air, to the point where it feels like I could choke on it...I wait with bated breath for her to continue.
    ...
Hold on, is she doing this on purpose?!

    I swallow hard.
"Well...that's a pretty tall order. I know a certainly someone who'd be furious if he knew that I was even thinking of agreeing to that."
Yep. I can already hear Lucius yelling at me. "You're too reckless, Lord Turin!" "You need to more careful, Lord Turin!" "A man of your stature should not be--et cetera, et cetera, et cetera." I cringe a little just thinking about it. I'd like to try talking her out of it, but I get the feeling she won't budge. I let out a heavy sigh.
"Man, you go straight for the jugular, don't you? Alright...I'll agree to that condition. But let me tell you what's gonna happen if I win the match."
I give her a wry smile.
"If I win, you become my training partner. Back home, I get bored pretty easily so I really don't want this to just be a one-time thing. I can be reasonable about timing and schedules and whatnot, but I'm expecting you to not flake out on me for no good reason. So, what do you say?"
I take another bite of stew while I wait for her answer.
