That is the thing though. "enjoyable" trainwreck is a very subjective idea and since it's still a traiwreck unless the person finds it somehow enjoyable then it's just a train wreck. So because of this opinion on such things is pretty much black and white. Either you love it or you can't stand it.

Already did. This one caught my eye before I knew it was a short and I was disappointed to find out it was by I still decided to watch it.

 

Now why does this sound like Kämpfer to me? HEEEM....

 

You only can't stand Cross Ange if you think that violence against women in anime should be abolished.

 

Then I have to ask, is this violence commented by men, or by women if both then, by what percentage does the violence happen for each gender?

 

I just watched the first Kantai Collection, not a bad start IMO, and as for my reaction for Shinmai Maou no Testament I have to say: not bad at all, will see how they turn out later on, also Yuri Kuma Arashi:

 

Non spoiler first impressions of KanColle.
First off I DONT play the game. Saying that I know nothing of the ships/girls and thus will be basing my opinion solely on this anime.
Now then, first episode, first half was kind of slow but the second half is where all the action takes place. I will watch this again next week as it has piqued my interest. I rather like military style anime anyway.

 

No I've heard plenty of other complaints although that was a big one. Other complaints I saw was some people just finding the cast to be horrible people (this is very subjective though) and just finding the overall show poorly put together (the reviews listed specifics but I can't remember them all) and overly dark.

One thing I want to ask though for Natsuru's sake. Without spoiling specific names don't people tend to die in this show? I think I remember someone saying death is rather common. I felt I should point this out since Natsuru almost avoided the alien teacher show due to possible death of alien teacher.

Yeah I pretty much know nothing as well. I've come across some mentions of it and such but all I know from that is what a few characters look like and there is some kind of abyss fleet that looks like monsters.... or something. Although I do know the game this is based on has been around for a while now so the fact it took them this long to make the anime is kind of surprising.

 

Testament ep 1 was DAMN GOOD! If I rated the show on this ep alone it'd be an 8. If u love or like DxD, watch testament. It has that feel to it while also so far changing up the story so far. Keep in mind, this was only the 1st ep and thus is too early to say how it will proceed but I can already tell you this, that MAL info that was posted in the club, well, "to steal a line from a certain anime," Expect the unexpected. For indeed, there was a big twist to the MAL info even though what it lists is technically true, and, I won't say more. I can't wait for ep2!

@Metazoxan Tbf, I'd intended to watch that anime, just not while it was airing, goddess knows when though. lol However, ya'll and the preview convinced me to give it a go while it was airing so, arigato.

As for that statement u made, ... it wouldn't be the 1st time I've watched an anime where chars die, esp a lot and like crazy but, it'd be horrible if that was true.

 

I can see the relation to Hagure in this and indeed I liked that anime too but also follow @MacMeaties's notion that the MC was a bit rapey.
Similarities:
Primarily the OTT hero that shelters the deceased demon lords busty daughter from her captors that want to take over the demon world and need her dead .
DxD Similarities (so far): Busty redheaded demon, Powerful white haired loli.
But seeing as this is by the Hagure author then I imagine we'll see more Hagure similarities than DxD ones. The plot is already similar (and in that case so is the PLOT)

Well hopefully this anime handles itself a little better than Hagure. The anime wasn't bad overall and the MC was a badass even when he was kind of rapey. But it also spent most of it's time introducing subplots and taking almost no time to resolve any of them. By the time the anime ended we had barely actually gotten anywhere in the plot at all. The MC fought ONE bad guy from the other world plus a few other guys who weren't really a big deal but helped introduce other subplots. But in the end it just felt unfocused. A series should introduce stuff like that over time and let one subplot at least get half way done before throwing another in.

Just ya'll wait for the multiple orgasms. Yes Basara is "forced" to give Mio multiple orgasms for plot reasons several times in the first novel alone.
Basically this series is the Hagure author trying to have a non-rapey protag and a main heroine who is actually openly up for it.
This'll be a bluray show 100%. If they've censored underwear then there is no hope for the borderline hentai level of sexually graphic stuff later on in the series IF they even animate that stuff lol.

 

I already asked about this show myself since I didn't see it. It got pretty good MAL reviews so it seems worth checking out but I can't give a personal opinion of it.

Well you are the one who pointed out the obvious as if he had somehow missed it when he in fact said that.

Well given what DxD got away with they might not show anything too explicit directly but they'll probably be pretty damn close. One does not simply choose to animate a series like this and then censor it.

 

@Supernatural-Knight be happy I resurrected this club!! Thanks for tagging me!! Yeah, I'm quite picky with comedy as well.

I still wonder how everyone manages to overlook my post.

 

@Supernatural-Knight I hate to ask but, is there anyway seeing as you're the club leader that you could make and enforce a rule that states that anyone is allowed to discuss or talk about any book (Novel, manga etc.) content but if it has yet to been animated then they MUST use spoiler tags and make a note of the spoiler being future events in manga etc. so those who don't wish to be spoiled don't click by mistake?

I'm only asking you this because I feel this club is the new release club and we watch anime, not read books and thus no one should spoil a new release anime of any kind (Think DxD and how the story is not yet finished but there's a S3, think Haganai S2 and how the ending has not yet been finished but no confirmation of a S3/continuation) and I myself have had a few things spoiled for me because some of the above people decided to post future yet to be animated content out in the open, without spoilers and with no warning and given this club watches new release anime, that brings down my wanting to participate when I know eventually, someone here will post spoilers like that. It is NOT COOL that shows like DxD, Date A Live and now Testament are spoiled for me or other members. Also, a note I'd like to say is, I don't CARE IF said spoiler content is on the front cover of the dang novel, manga etc., I don't SEE said books and their covers to begin with and thus it is still a spoiler. Some members like myself do avoid and don't go looking for these books because of the chance of spoiler happening. Jsyk (Just so you know), I mention this bit because someone here spoiled a certain anime I named but won't say which by saying something transformation wise for a certain char was on the cover of the novel or manga and at the time, the anime was still airing it's 2nd season and guess what? It finished airing and that transformation never appeared in said 2nd season and now I have been spoiled BIG TIME because of this! (I was already spoiled but seeing as there's another anime for the series coming out, that also spoils that anime of it for me as well which sucks!) Sorry for mini rant.

Anyway, sure the stuff talked about may not get animated however, it still spoils the anime either way because you now know what may come or is going on in the manga which ruins the show in some form or another and one of the things I hate most is, having things spoiled for me and I just feel people should be more respectful on this sensitive matter for others who don't wish to be spoiled.
