Now I guess it's time to ask the obvious question: When will the voting start @Supernatural-Knight? since most fall anime end this week

 

Hey Super since you like shorts I'm guessing you watched Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken correct? What did you think of it? I thought it was rather enjoyable with some really funny moments but also some touching ones. Like that last episode.... so sweet. looking forward to season 2.

 

I know that was directed at Knight but, I myself really enjoyed it but I disliked the fact they aired the eps out of order. (Haruhi anyone? lol) Such as that last ep, that should've come before that ep where one of the MC collapses and is in the hospital and we learn something shocking, no wonder it felt like they skipped content. Either way, I enjoyed it, woulda more if they aired it in order and I am SOO looking forward to S2.

@Metazoxan & @Supernatural-Knight So, Kaito Kid 1412, the last few weeks they've shown nothing but new content, I rather enjoyed it and it was far better than the OVA edits eps they did, speaking of which, the next ep won't be till Jan 10th and is another OVA recap edit ep, this one is the one from the mountain class ski trip, which I really loved that OVA ep, guess u know what that means when I finally get to see this ep right? Me too, another review of it, they better not botch this like the rest. lol (Only ep 1 was handled well enough, though I didn't like that they made Nakamori a pipe smoker in that ep) I will also say this, even though I did enjoy the new content eps, it felt, off, not magical and, I SWEAR whoever is doing this new KK series is not the same person/team as the OVA eps, or at least half the team isn't as it lacks that certain, finesse that the OVA series had. lol

Btw, Meta, what are your thoughts on the show now? U haven't talked about it in a LONG time and I'd like to know. lol

 

I don't think that was our of order I think that was a joke before and 13 was the confirmation of the real thing. After all besides the talk about pregnancy everything else followed normal progression. Characters were introduced and got to know each other and still knew each other in the next episode. If it was really out of order than a lot of other things would be out of order. Plus I did a quick look on MAL and google and if they were aired out of order someone would have said so by now. Remember this was based on a 4-koma and those can be a bit odd at times.

I'm actually a bit behind on the series. Not because I don't like it but just because I got busy during finals and didn't have time to watch everything and I keep forgetting to pick it back up. So I'll get back to you on that.

 

Spoilered for sake of not spoiling others lol Anyway, yeah, well, maybe so but, I disagree. I'm pretty sure here and there there were parts in some of the eps after that ep where they're talking about it as if it's a real thing. example

and really I feel as though some of the other eps were jumbled up though it's hard to tell simply because they were one off eps that could've been placed in any order just about of the story. However to me it felt off because they weren't talking about, mentioning, showing signs of etc. what is posted in the spoilers. I honestly believe they really did jumble the ep order up. As for your search, give it time, someone is bound to catch it or make a list explaining why if it wasn't jumbled up.

I see, I understand, had trouble watching eps that were airing myself, still need to watch Shirobako ep 12 for that matter. I shall wait for your answers once you catch up.

 

Okay it's about time I update my opinions on some things.

Log Horizon 2 (7/10)- Season 2 is just like season 1 over all and that is both good and bad. It's good because it's the same show that a good few of us liked but it's bad because of one thing.... talking. Season 1 had a good reason for a lot of talking we had a massive cast of characters and a whole damn world to set up. But with season 2 that's all done with and they are still talking just as much as season 1. The talking itself isn't bad though as it's still plot relevant and fairly interesting. But I keep wishing they'd do a little more doing and a little less talking. it's not enough to make the show bad which is why I still give it a 7 but it's enough to hold it back from a higher ranking.

World Trigger (5/10)- This isn't a bad show but it's still fairly average so far. The show still shows a bit of promise as the main team that the plot will likely focus on has FINALLY been formed so things may pick up from here but for now everything is just mind of meh. I like shonen so I'm enjoying it well enough but objectively speaking there is nothing remarkable about this show yet.

Ore, Twintails ni Narimasu (7/10)- This show was a stupid fun type. As I said before if you are a power ranger type (I think it's called Sentai?) fan you might really enjoy this. But besides that the way it takes it's own absurd premise seriously is just hilarious at times and the characters were simply fun to watch. Also it's actually less ecchi than I expected and most of it is simply related to the whole "attribute" theme of the show and isn't exploited for fan service as much as I exptected. It's certainly there but just not as much. It's definitely worth checking out not because it's a "good" show but because it's so stupid you might have fun watching it.

Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de (7/10)-*Note: Watching this on Crunchy roll so I haven't seen the last episode yet* Just like the premise implies this show is not an action show. Despite the main cast all getting superpowers their normal lives continue and that is what makes this show interesting to watch. Seeing them continuing their normal lives despite some pretty crazy shit going down around them especially when later plot elements come in. The other thing that makes this show interesting is how honestly they approach issues. A girl thinks Kudo confessed to her and he honestly tells her the truth. One of the main characters confesses a secret hobby to Kudo and he honestly talks about it. Most shows would take stuff like this and drag it out for several episodes or had it end in some punch line. But this show tackles the issues the characters are having quite seriously. That's not to say the show is overall serious because the characters joke around a lot as well. But isn't that what being a kid is about? Playing around and having fun while having to deal with serious issues once in a while? Because of that the show just has a "real" feeling to it to where I could see myself as a character in this anime without stretching anything to make it all fit.

Akatsuki no Yona (8/10)- I really like this show so far. Even from the start Yona was Naive but she wasn't spoiled or stuck up and after shit goes down she starts to break down but picks herself back up and is determined to push forward with her own strength while also relying on the strength of others because she's not stupid and knows that she can't do much by herself. But she's also not just letting her slowly growing reverse harem do all the work for her which is very admirable. The rest of the cast so far as varied and interesting and the plot is strong enough to keep it going.

Amagi Brilliant Park (8.5/10)-This show was just hilarious from start to finish. From the same guys who brought us Souske with the rest of Full Metal Panic we have this show. But instead of a teenage boy who grew up as a soldier going to high school it's an anti social highschool boy being forced as gun point to become the manager of a park populated by residents of a magical world because a magical oracle said he could save the park. The objective is to get 500,000 visitors before a cut off date or else they lose the park due to an agreement made when the park was built. Because it's an amusement park the place is filled with various characters who are colorful is personality and appearance and I think most people will find themselves laughing at least some of the time. If you are looking for a good comedy try this show.

Gugure! Kokkuri-san (6/10)- This is another comedy that is fairly funny but it's also kind of aimless. See while ABP had an objective and an overall plot to accomplish this is just kind of " the daily live of a weird girl and these spirits". It has some really funny moments but besides those funny times the show doesn't have much substance to it. Which isn't a problem if you are just looking for a laugh but it can also got a bit old after a while.

Gundam: G no Reconguista (3/10)- My god NEVER have I been so lost while watching an anime. Why are they doing this? What are those guys trying to accomplish? Just what the hell is going on? I keep asking myself these questions and mostly only getting half answers to ANY of them scattered throughout the dialouge. Seriously the development is the plot and characters is a god awful mess and I have barely any idea why anything is happening. I do not recommend this to ANYONE! it had so much potential with it's retro art style and it's break away from the constant "war between enemy nations" plot most gundam series have but they are still fighting each other anyway so that barely meant anything and they treat death so casually most of the time.

Nanatsu no Taizai (7/10)-This is a fun series. The princess can't fight but dammit she tries and that's better than having a girl just cry about needing saving or something. Melodias is fun with his rather honest sexual hareassement of the princess yet being completely serious and reliable when she needs to be. Ban is just an awesome character and I love every moment he is one screen. Kind and Diana are both also nice characters as well who help fill out the cast nicely. The plot is pretty good to with a bit of mystery, lots of adventure, and a decent bit of action. In fact out of all the new shonen this season this show probably has the best action.

There are a few other shows I am either behind on or want to completely finish before giving further thoughts on them so I'll just leave it at this for now.

BTW did anyone see Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji or Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis? I didn't see this this season but they got decent reviews on MAL and their descriptions aren't bad. So should I check these out when I have time?

 

Ok, guys, girls, seriously, I can't believe I'm even considering watching this anime, esp after some bad things I've heard about it but, should I watch Cross Ange?

 

I don't think so. I never watched it but nothing about it seems appealing. It's a magical world witch cheap CGI mecha which is already bland sounding enough but nothing about it sounds appealing in the slightest. I guess you might want the opinion of someone who has seen it but I wouldn't suggest watching it.

 

Just because I can post in this thread. Does anyone recommend from this list any of the anime? (Apart from Terror in Resonance which I know was awesome).

I figured this would be the most appropriate thread, as it is all about New Releases Please remember to tag me or reply to this post to let me know!! I appreciate everyone's recommendations!! And will probably take them into consideration if you get your point across to me!

 

@VeritasOdiumParit I'd say this is 2nd best place, 1st being the recommendations thread, or maybe this is equal to that given those are new anime. I only asked here about Cross Ange because it's still airing, it's the only anime I'm asking about and because @Sir-Maddy has been watching it so I figured others would too. As for if those that you're curious about are any good, well, I've not seen any of them but I am interested in the Fate/Stay series and hope to get into them at some point, plus, a long running anime is typically good.

@Metazoxan Yes I'd rather opions from those who've seen it, but thanks for the effort.

It's a short. Shorts are always a bit lacking because a lot of people never watch them. I myself only watch the ones that really catch my eye.
