I have not finished it yet but I can marathon it tonight.

 

When is the next batch of nominations coming up or are we waiting for @natsu-dragneel to break out of prison? If that's the case I volunteer to help out bro at the best of my abilities! That warden doesn't scare me!

 

Just start screaming and Natsu can just run away through the gate that's wide open. I sure hope Natsu comes here first before he goes to see his sister and gets caught

 

Hang in there guys, I'm finally leaving tomorrow. I hate when my parents say that we're leaving for two weeks and then suddendly they extend it for one more week and I've left for 5 whole weeks, at least I somehow managed to watch the new release anime, but I'm guessing you'll all be glad I'll be back for real.

And about the activity, how does Sunday sound for nominating movies, any anime mcount will count as long as it's not a movie we've already watched.

Wow that list has gotten pretty big

 

I have not seen many movies so I'm in the clear for sure. The only one I seen in spor's list is the first Pokemon movie. Yeah I'm so old school

Man everyone seen Akira already. I really need to get my movie list out of the way.

 

Maybe one day but not interested right now. I rather watch some movies on my own before joining a group devoted to it. Be warned though, once I get in the habit then brace yourself for my presence which is guaranteed to bring out the awesomeness of others at the cost of my sanity. Until then though I will wander alone.

Any movie you guys want for nomination would more then likely be a +1 vote from me

 

You could do both. Join us and then watch the movie on your own. We don't actually get to watching the movies that much in the midnight channel. The skype chat overwhelms the movie.

 

I have returned guys, I'll update the OP in he next few minutes. Also, just a little something about nominating the movies:

1.-The movies can't be sequels to an anime if the group hasn't watch the anime (i.e. Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shamballa can't be nominated)
2.-It can't be a movie that the group already watched (obviously)
3.-If the movie has a sequel, we can also watch those other movies (i.e. Berserk movies) (optional)
4.-If said movie is not a continuation of the anime or is in the storyline, then it can be watched (i.e. Bleach movies)
5.-In case it's a movie series, we'll watch all the movies (i.e. Towa no Quon) (optional)

That's all for now, think wisely on what movie we'll watch

 

I dunno if I will be able to partake in the movie viewing this time but I WILL say having it done by stream on SPor's chat may sound like a good idea but if you're wanting the discussion to be in the forum then it's a bad idea, otherwise great idea.

As for Knight's idea, well fine by me for the ghibli films but not allowing movies that cover an entire anime seems somewhat unfair. On one hand yes we've got movies (Keep in mind any title I haven't seen the movie for but the series and am only going by what I've heard) which recap the series bad because of cramming 13 or so hrs into 2 hrs such as Blue Gender the warrior but on the other hand we have movies that (Again from what I've heard) are supposedly better than the series itself such as the Puella movies. I do know if it were me I'd rather in "most cases" watch the series instead of the movie'(s) so I'm kinda divided here between yes to allowing them or no to not allowing them. So guess I'll wait to see what Natsu says on those ideas.

 

Guys I would like to add two more rules since they are far too generic to include in this next voting. I would also like to remove recap movies since they are just boring to discuss when it is a complete summary of a series that everyones already seen [no madoka, gurren lagann]. I’d also like to remove Studio Ghibli titles because only the mainstream ones are nominated and basically everyones now seen them. What do you think, would it be acceptable to not include these as well?

By removing these and what Natsu mentioned we should end up with a bit of variety that not as many people have seen, we want discussion and movies we've all seen is the wrong way to go about it.


I've seen a few recap movies and some do a really good job at retelling the anime. The best example I've seen would be the first two Madoka movies. I say this because it was split into two movies, more time is given to do a decent recap. I personally enjoyed reliving the experience of Madoka via the movies. As for Ghibli films, I think they should be allowed as I know some people who have yet to see some. I, myself, have only seen to Ghibli films. I do however encourage people to vote for movies/films that they haven't seen.

Now this last part may get me yelled at, but I like to speak my mind; This is not your groups Knight, so unless Natsu decides to implement your proposed rules, they should be ignored. I only say this based off your first sentence "Guys I would like to add two more rules" , which make you sound like you still have that authority here, when in actuality, you have the same amount as I do.

 

Only the rules that I mentioned will be appliable, I haven't seen any Ghibli films either and this could be a chance to watch one. The nomination thread is wide open, you can nominate movies as of right now
