Okay, so we've got a guy who's technically a zombie, but behaves like a regular human in pretty much every way...
And then we've got Lord Dio, master vampire, who sometimes doesn't even need to use his near-unstoppable powers to break peoples' minds into serving him. He is a master at manipulating people, and can trick you into thinking your body isn't behaving you. And a brief list of powers include: using his blood as a high-pressure water gun, slicing things in half. Vanishing, and appearing behind you in an instant. Bringing the dead back to life as servants.
TL;DR: You're f***ed if you don't obey him.
