Well, not when she's insane she isn't. Let's be fair - that's like saying a person with bipolar disorder isn't scary in her normal non-maniac periods. That's like saying Dr. Jekyll is a perfectly sweet guy.

Also, children make the worst monsters. Because of their naivety and innocence, they can have no capacity for morality or limit. For the sake of curiosity, they can do their worst. I believe Beatrice and other characters in Umineko have demonstrated that.

First off, spoilers. Some people haven't finished playing that game yet, so if they Google that name, they'll find out the connection.

Second, okay, that's fair. That particular game is technically more gory than Elfen Lied. But being well-known for being the symbol of gore among the mainstream anime community counts for something. It means she's grisly enough to be that popular. And even among the non-mainstream community, I'd say she's at least second best, or maybe third.

Also, most of the gore acts weren't even performed by Sachiko herself, but by the other children ghosts of the haunted school.

Maybe it's just me, but invisible hands that can rip my guts out like play dough and slice my head off like hot butter, I'd at least be a bit shaken up. I mean, a psychopathic Jean Grey on steroids might not blow you over, but for little ol' me, it's enough.

You know, the most ironic thing about this discussion is that... I didn't even like Elfen Lied that much. I felt its story fell flat, its villain (not Lucy) cliched and shallow. I can't remember the rating I gave it. 5/10 or 6/10.

Hmm... voting for girls I don't even like. I'm seeing a pattern here.

In reference to earlier, I wish I had known how dull everyone considered zombies to be. I thought the umpteenmillion zombie games and movies were an example on how popular they were. Man I was wrong. I didn't think that zombies being killers had to be a requirement too, since a zombie is merely an undead being by definition. Didn't realize either exactly what the goal of this elimination game was either, to find a scary person or to find one Halloween related. In that way, I can't tell what exactly to judge on.
No matter.

 

Well, for myself, I just thought that since so many characters from horror anime or 'spooky' anime were chosen, I thought it was to fit the Halloween spirit and stuff. And furthermore, I just know Yuno as a character as opposed to not knowing who that girl zombie was, so that's another factor contributing to my vote.

To be fair, if I see two characters that I know of in one round, and the one I like more isn't necessarily scary, I might still vote for her.

 

now now dont be so down for zombies. it think its because she gives the carefree and happy go lucky attitude. now havent watched a single ep of musune since its echii but basing from the videos/clips of her, she doesnt seem spooky or scary for others. i voted for her because, well she is an undead, compared to a spoilery reasons behind yuno's existence.

if my memory serves me right, i think sankarea went further in a past eliminations.

You're thinking too much about this, IMO. It's a Halloween game where we vote off anime characters. lol I mean, the reason I said Lucy was a scary character was that any normal person with common sense would find Lucy scary just from her appearance, and that any normal person would be able to tell she's a character from a horror anime, not because of some convoluted detail of whether if instantly killing you makes her scarier or not, and definitely not because of an argument as ludicrous as how her "invisible hands" are scary - even though it's technically telekinesis.

No it was not. People playing the game for the first thirty minutes or seeing the poster of the game don't necessarily know who that ghost-girl was. And no, Corpse Party isn't such a popular game that it's as common knowledge as something like Goku going super seiyan.

I love Shiki, but Sunako isn't really my favorite character, to be honest. Her backstory wasn't really the most interesting among the characters.

Brook isn't scary. Yes he's a skeleton but his fancy clothes takes away from the horror element.
