Simply because it works with her name. Even if she doesn't have cat like qualities herself the fact part of her name nearly looks like Nya is enough to give her that nickname. Think about it people get nicknames all the time that don't exactly fit their personalities but just happen to work really well with their names.

"Usually do" is kind of harsh since they've made more than just two other shows in the past and apparently those are regarded as bad even by P.A. fans.

Also I think the reason this is so good is because they are litterally experts on the subject matter. This is about the life of animation studios so they already know everything they need to know. They just need to write it in an entertaining way and they are done. Because the thing that makes this show good is how real it feels. While the drama is clearly played up a little at times I could totally see these situations and these people being in the real world and the level to which this feels life like is more than you normally see.

Again even the characters I hate feel extremely realistic to the point I can't say they don't belong in the show.

At this point I don't think the show could be anything worse than "okay". meaning even if it ends disappointingly it will only drag the show down to okay. You'd pretty much have to try to screw up to have an endings bad enough to make this show bad just with that alone.

i say having an unfulfilling ending can still ruin it like Genshiken 2 it ended with no ending which was good but it skipped a major part in the manga that they referance in Nidaime, having a show drag on is bad but its still watchable like Rurouni Kenshin so like you said that would be ok; but then think about it based on where the show is you can guess its going to end like Hanasaku Iroha or a fastforward since having a S2 is very unlikely

Fair enough then. I was confused.

In regards to this current discussion, I'd be happy for it to be of "usual" standard. Angel Beats! and Another, anyone?~

Am I the only one who thought during this episode " Miyamori's hallucinations are getting worse!"

Nope, I never liked the hallucinations anyway so when they become even more prominent I always question the judgment that made them think it was necessary. The larger the role they get the more I wonder about Miyamori's mental health. This series couldn't possibly be sending her to the hospital soon could it? Fatigue, stress and poor nutrition sounds like the usual things that sends characters to hospitals in anime.

I like the dolls at times because they are more interesting than if Miyamori was just talking to herself. Because that is essentially what is happening at those moments she's just thinking about stuff and instead of listening to those thoughts and watching her sit there we have the two dolls discuss it. Plus it's a convenient place to put explanation for that terms mean since everyone in the industry would generally know them and thus not need them explained.

But that scene was just full on "She is clearly reacting to it meaning they are saying she is legit hearing and seeing this". I guess they added stuff like this in to squeeze in some of that P.A. animation you love so much (since the normal show rarely takes advanatge of it) because I can't think of any other reason for anything besides the dolls to exist.

@Metazoxan while the dolls talking may be more interesting than Miyamori talking to herself, I don't like them. I find the voices annoying. While in comparison I actually like Miyamori so I'd much rather listen to her talk than those squeaky voiced delusions. Most of the terms they explain are common knowledge if you've watched enough anime, some are good but the length of the delusions at times can be just painful.

Yeah PA scenery porn is certainly lacking in this show which was one of my first concerns with it when it was announced. I guess it gets some different kinds of scenes into the show but I'm not a fan of her delusions. I much rather the painter's still scenery shots over the dolls.

I wouldn't really call it a twist, we know that the original creator of 3rd Aerial girls hasn't had any contact with them apart from completely rejecting the character designs originally. The problem is his editor that is practically joking with every word he says.
The fact that the creator only now tells them that everything needs to be redone when the script was written a while ago just proves how little contact he has.

Will Musani make it? Two episodes to go how does everyone think it will end?

Honestly this kind of feels like a rehash. We already did the "Author acts like a total dick by calling for a redo after all the work is already done" so why again? I honestly could not hate this author or that fucking editor any more than I do now because of how they just fuck everyone over and don't seem to even care. I know we need some kind of crisis for the last couple episodes but doing this just feels a tad lazy. I would have liked something like "Fire destroyed their work" or "Author accused of plagerism stalling all projects related to it" or something like that.

It's not enough to ruin the whole series but it's making it feel like it's going to end on a lower note than I had hoped.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there @Metazoxan because I don't think it feels like a rehash at all. Okay so they are against what Musani are doing but it is in a different way. Denying the character designs because the author didn't believe they did his work justice is a legitimate excuse since this is an adaptation they are doing. So saying the final episode is no good also makes sense since we were told it was an anime original ending. If anything this is saying that not even the original creators like anime original endings since it ruins what they were going for in the source material.
If you want to hate anyone place the blame solely on the editor for not working with Musani staff. We haven't even seen the creator of 3rd Aerial Girls yet despite the repeated invitations they've offered to him[?]. If the editor doesn't approve it nothing will go through, and as we know, "so funny story" is the only response they get.
The original stop was early enough to allow for the shifting of the schedule but this much later time is nearing the 11th hour. Do or die time for them so a frenzied rush will be occupying the final eps even more so than before.

I think a fire would destroy too much and end the series on a much worse note because not only would 3rd Aerial Girls be unfinished the entire studio will be done for months. Two weeks to turn everything around is cutting it extremely close as is but I think it is better than completely stopping the adaptation.

One last thing that is completely unrelated, Tarou and Hiraoka's conversation at the pub was awesome. Both generally unlikable characters having a conversation together sounding like a bad idea but that scene I couldn't help but enjoy immensely.

Oh I do blame that editor alot. But this takes place over months and it wouldn't kill the author to check in himself to see how things are going. Unless he is just the most ignorant person alive he has to realize what a joke his editor is and thus should know he's probably not keeping him updated properly. So while I blame the editor I also blame the author a bit to for not fixing the situation himself.

Also while I agree that the author has a right to complain about the character designs and Original ending I also think if you wait months into production to say anything you lose the right to complain. It's like in school if you turn homework in late with a strict teacher. Sure you did it and technically have the right to turn it in but you missed the cut off date so too bad so sad you get a zero. Same thing here especially since being late with his feedback and then saying "no good" throws their schedule completely off. If we give the author the benefit of the doubt maybe he doesn't know he's being such a tyranical slave driving ass. But ignorance doesn't give him the right to throw everything into a mess it only means he still might be a nice guy.

I didn't mean a super big fire. just like something happen to the cuts and voice acting data for the last episode forcing a rush to fix the last episode. Because even if the stakes are higher it's still the exact same problem as before with the author calling NG after the work is pretty much done.

I agree with you on that last bit though. I still dislike both of them but I was kind of happy for them too. Just a bit.

Okay so I haven't watched this in a while so I must ask this. Is Manager-san still relevant?

The manager still appears from time to time but she has never had a large dialogue filled role in the show.

@Natsu the Director's attitude during that whole thing was awesome. I lost it. From the moment he stepped out of the car I knew we were in for something special.
    That ending too, so good.
