Sega Head: Yakuza Studio Is Working On Unannounced Title

Sega Holdings President and CEO Haruki Satomi stated in an interview from this week's issue of Kadokawa's Weekly Famitsu magazine on Thursday that Yakuza Studio (Ryū ga Gotoku Studio) is currently working on an as-yet unannounced title for home consoles. Satomi asked fans to look forward to the official announcement.

Yakuza Studio develops Sega's Yakuza (Ryū ga Gotoku) video games. Most recently, the studio developed the Hokuto ga Gotoku PlayStation 4 game, which launched in Japan on February 22. Hokuto ga Gotoku is set in the world of Fist of the North Star, but Yakuza Studio developed the game in the vein of its Yakuza games.

Sega released the Yakuza Kiwami 2 game in Japan for the PS4 on December 7, and will release the game in English on August 28. Yakuza 6: The Song of Life launched on the PS4 in Japan in December 2016, and launched in North America on Tuesday.
