School For Gods (Kamigami no tame no gakkō)

Usse went red at being named team leader, but turned to face the others.
"Ok then," he said bravely. "I pick... you, girl I was just talking to!" he said, at a loss as for what else to say but not wanting to look like a total idiot.

Gunn facepalmed.

 

"Thank you for your compensation. You will always be welcome here at my bar, Lucius." Sedumere tucked the check in between her breasts and assured him she would pass on the message to the syndicate. It took everything in her to hold back on tearing him down about his comment on the syndicate running soft.
As the last of the customers slowly left before the evening rush, giving Sedumere and her employees time to relax and clean up before the more important patrons arrived. Tonight was a sponsered event that preceeded a meeting that was scheduled for the following week due to the day's earlier tradgedy.
Closing the front doors and locking them, she waltzed over to the register to count the profits from the lunch rush, but was promptly interrupted by the shrill ring from the phone.
"Hugo? Can you please get that for me?"
"Of course, Iris." He smiled and took care of his boss.

Ming Yue choked on air as she heard that she was named to be a team leader.
"A-are you sure about that?" She started to believe she was only picked as punishment for what she did earlier. But, deciding against arguing with Gunn further, she sucked it up and pointed to Luther. "I'll start with Luther then..."
He shot a look at her like she was insane to choose him and of course she immediately shot back a look that screamed 'I'm sorry'. Not sure of what to do, Ming Yue just kind of slunk back waiting for Usse to make his next choice.

 

After a nice, long talk with the faculty...I've finally made my way to the gym, and it looks like I'm just in time for some kind of team game! Alright! I make my way inside and take a look around.
"I am prepared for any activity, at any time! Whichever team I am chosen for, I shall serve you with honor and give it everything I have, DOWN TO MY LAST OUNCE OF STRENGTH!!"
I thrust out my chest proudly! Now I'll definitely be the next pick...I know it!"

I look at the young man who just entered the room. He certainly seems energetic, to be sure! But I am a little concerned about him.
"I can certainly appreciate your enthusiasm. However...do you even know what activity we will be taking part in?"

When I hear one of the other students speak up, well...my chest is looking slightly less proud now.
"Oh...right."
I look over to Mr. Gunn and bow.
"SIR! Could you please be so kind as to inform me about our current activity, sir?!"

 

Usse immediately turned.
"I pick that guy. He seems sufficiently manly."

Gunn jerked his thumb over to Mikhail. "Go ask him. He is the teacher in this class."

 

After hearing that I've been picked by what I'm guessing is one of the team captains, I quickly turn to him. Wait...I recognize him. From the entrance, I think. Oh yeah, he's Usse Emate! I can't remember what his powers are, but they must be incredible if he was picked as team captain! I give him a firm nod and pump my fist!
"Thank you! It will be an honor to fight on your side, Captain Emate!"
I still don't know what game we're playing...but it doesn't matter! I will overcome all odds to achieve glorious victory in this upcoming battle!! Now that I've psyched myself up, I take my rightful place at Captain Emate's side!


To be honest...I was really hoping that student would ask which activity this is. I suppose there's no helping it, I'll just have to find out myself. I look at the person that the strong-looking teacher pointed to and approach him. Along the way, I realize that I'm attracting attention from some of the other students again, which makes every step a little forward more uncomfortable than the last. Hmm. It seems that I do stand out, even when I'm with people who are more like me. Some of the girls' faces are even turning red, just like when I'm near normal humans. I quietly wonder to myself if the staff could explain why I seem to have this effect on people, but I'll have to think about that later. I walk up to the other teacher and bow as politely as I can.
"Excuse me, but would you kindly explain what activity we are about to take part in? Unfortunately, I was late coming here so I missed it when it was first explained. I am very sorry for that."
I bow again and wait for an answer.

 

Micheal chucked a little as he finished upi his drawing.
"I'm not surprised by that actually, but it would surprise me if they did end up bringing an immortal down here. I think that barrier is more of a way to make sure they don't get out if someone where to summon a gate by mistake. But I'm always prepared to say a verse if we do stumble upon a chamber like that. have them memorized by now. "

He finished up his drawing and took out a letter to read over. he then looked back at Vincent.
"Well, since my orders where to just destroy the documents... and seeing as that they aren't wanting any proof to show for it it won't do any harm if you kept them. You are an guardian angel after all so I trust that you wouldn't summon any gates accidentally."
Micheal noticed how unsettled Roy was. He could also feel what had gone on in this cavern. But his mind was worried about something else as he felt a bigger disturbance in the area their in, more around San Tenegra. He heard rumors that some sort of demonic energy was strong in that town, but he wouldn't act on them untill he saw what was at the end of this cave. If the texts he was sent after weren't to be found here, then god help those who found them and that they knew what was behind those texts. He closed his sketchbook and put it away along with his pen. he took one last drink of water as he took his supernatural book out.
"Come'on, lets get back to the task. It shouldn't be too far now." I hope to god those texts are still down here, Micheal said in his mind.
Then we would have a problem... a huge one. said the voice of the archangel micheal inside of his head.

"You don't have to worry about any hard feelings Jedrek, I know why your brother made that call. Green came off as a little shady and didn't know how to play poker." Penton smiled a little as they drove to the tower. "Okay, we'll talk once we get back to the tower. I'm sure we have a lot to discuss.

As Lucis and Jedrek drove into the underground parking garage of Penton tower, he realized the time.
"Oh dear, that meeting really did take up the afternoon, didn't it? well then we have to make this exchange quick then. I have a dinner meeting with someone new in town who wants to do some business. I think what he has in his plans will be exciting. I am sorry but I think that conversation may have to wait till tonight, or we could talk for a little bit till my dinner guest arrives."

They drove into a sealed off decontamination area where people in Bio-hazard suits where waiting. The driver and his help got out and opened the trunk. they took out the huge case from the earlier job as well as a guy who didn't look too well. He was taken by two men in bio-hazard suits.
"Make sure you get him contained. I think he may have a bad case of mnemonic plague. should be able to get plenty of data off of him. And make sure that case gets to the tech lab pronto. I want to see what he had hidden on those drives."

He smiled as he called another car up. the car they where just in had to be decontaminated. they passed through two negative pressure chambers and they had to do a dry decontamination for Jedrek.

"I'm sorry they have to do that, but you weren't wearing a bio business suit like the other two and I really don't want you to die from the plague. your brother did trust you with me after all."
As they left the decon area, a new black town car pulled up. Penton and jedrek got in and headed off towards the Fire Gate restaurant.

 

"What? Seriously? Why me?" Ramen let out a long sigh and began attempting to get up.
"Today reaaaaally isn't my day. I was hoping no one would know about my powers until a few months at least."
After getting up, she continuously mumbled, under her breath, and made her way up to Usse and stood beside him.
"Ramen. My name is Ramen Tsubasa."
She gave him a quick smile and began to remind herself that she wasn't allowed to prank or hurt people too heavily.

 

"Uhhhh.... uhhhh..." Ming Yue stared at her classmates' faces and started to feel the room spin. She never was the best when put on the spot and now it was magnified with two instructors breathing down her neck. "I... I can't choose."
The room started to spin more and more until everything went black for a few seconds. Once she got her vision back, it seemed like all eyes were on her. Just what she needed. It apparently wasn't enough for her to snap on Gunn earlier, but now she had apparently subconsciously she had triggered one of her defense mechanisms that usually came about when she didn't want to be seen anymore.
What was once a four foot seven, Chinese American teenager standing in front of her classmates stood a tiny turtle. Unsure of what to do now, Ming Yue just pulled her head into her shell and tried to think of the best course of action.
"S-someone pick the next person for me... please?"
Poking her head out of her shell, she looked to the right to see Mikhail frowning at her.

 

These people. Are they morons? The boy picked a guy that looked manly and the girl he was just talking to. Meanwhile the other captain seems like she picked someone she knew. Although he really looks like he's about to kill her. Now she does not know who to pick, is she a introvert. If she is I feel sorry for her.

 

Haldor looked at the team captains and chuckled a little as he saw Usse shaking and could easily tell that he was getting very nervous.
He felt so bad for the poor kid that he walked towards him.
"I'm willing to volunteer for your team. I hope the teacher or gunn minds, but anyways my names Haldor. Haldor Manning."
He smiled as he shook Usse's hand. he couldn't help but to think to himself about how nervous this kid must be right now...

The world spun wildly as she spun through the air. Everything had sort of vanished in the continuing blur of hues. Who she was, where she was, what had just happened.... It had all vanished into the feeling of spinning emptiness in her stomach. For a split instance, she felt as though she was being torn apart, and then it was back to tumbling. And then it was over, thankfully. Painfully.
Astral looked at the still spinning world seeing unfamiliar figures all around her. Glass shards tinkled down onto the hard floor and shattered with an almost musical quality. Looking around through wobbly vision she looked up and saw an incredibly bright light and some kind of jagged hole that it shown through. Her sight dropped down to the figures. They were odd things in a riot of colors standing on their hind legs.
Why would ponies stand like that? She wondered.
She opened her mouth to speak but began vomiting instead.

 

Everyone turned. What appeared to be a pony had materialized before them and started vomiting.
There was silence.
Usse stepped forwards. "Uh... you... you ok?" he said tentatively.

 

Astral flopped onto her side and closed her eyes once she'd finished heaving. For a while all she was focused on was breathing and taking pleasure in that small act.
"F...fine." She managed to say to the asked question. Opening her eyes she looked up at the voice. The thing above her, the things around her weren't ponies. She had no idea what They were, but it was definitely not ponies. Then again her vision still swam and she must have hit her head a bit hard on the ground, the shards of shattered glass that lay all around her, and that clung to her mane and coat, were testament to a painful landing. A few of the shards nearest her still swimming sight had red stained on the edges.

"Where am I?"

 

Gunn and Usse both moved forwards, trying to help the creature to its feet.
"The Kamigami no Tame no Gakko. I... I can't help but think you're not from around here..." Usse managed.
Gunn merely grunted in annoyance as one of the pony's wings hit him in the face, the fact that the pony HAD wings at all not alarming him in the slightest.

 

Astral allowed the two odd creatures to help her back onto her hooves. She stood there for a few moments still feeling woozy, but the world slowly took on its normal horizontal appearance. Looking around, the odd creatures weren't as intimidating as when she had been lying down, they were all still a couple hooves or more taller than she was, the top of her head was probably just a little below where their top forelegs fell to their sides.

She thought about what the one creature had said,
"Kamee gamei no... tani gakky?" She asked, sounding out the foreign syllables. "What?" She looked between the two creatures. One of them was shorter than the other, the taller one was... really tall. Behind and around the two of them, others of their species had circled around in curiosity.
"You aren't ponies." She stated. "What are you?"

 

Usse blinked.
"Err... we're called humans. I take it you're not used to us."

 

"I have never seen anything like you before." Astral said. She cocked her head to the side for a moment, "Actually you do somewhat resemble a pony standing upright. But you aren't ponies." Looking around at the gathering of Humans, Astral confirmed once again that she was in a bizarre place.
Shaking her head she looked up at Usse.
"Where are my manners, my name is Astral Oath. What are you called?"

 

Usse was about to introduce himself, when suddenly the gym doors burst open and his father rushed in.
"Ah! You must be the passenger within the trans-dimensional anomaly. My name is Professor Sturm Emate. I detected a wormhole from your dimension to our own. What's the last thing you remember?"

 

Astral stared at this new arrival with some concern.
"Uh...um... Well there was a storm above the Everfree Forest... I don't know what happened after that. But, who are you?" She asked. The human's enthusiasm was kind of freaking her out.

 

Emate pulled out a notepad and started scribbling.
"Describe your home. What is the Everfree Forest?"
