Tuesday: A bit of an odd question, but my mind wanders on my drive to campus.
Assume medicine as made several advancements. Your body has become unusable to you whether it be due to an illness or a major life-threatening accident. In any event you brain is fully functional and in a healthy condition. The doctor informs you that they can transplant you brain into a recently decided body. The donor body passed away due to something no transferable (impalement of the eye for example). This other body is just like yours, blood type, similar height, hair color, etc, except for one aspect; it's of the opposite gender. Would you go through the procedure?

Well that is a fascinating question and honestly I'm surprised that the medical profession and research has not already led to this kind of procedure being a semi-normal thing ... minus the gender changing part. Well despite obvious abnormalities that one would have to cope with after said procedure I think it would be worth it to try unless of course cyborg body becomes an option instead. After all you could be the first to pioneer this new frontier of body swapping and you don't really have anything better to do if your body doesn't work anymore. So in conclusion yes I would be willing to go through it for the sake of science! Also if you were the first imagine the royalties you would get for being a scientific experiment and direct access to top of the line medical facilities.

 

A very interesting question, but i actually have a few of my own to go along with this. If the bodies are identical to each other in all aspects but gender wouldn't the new body be subseptable to the same affection the old one had? Also how long has the body been dead, if it's a bit then yea but if longer would't the cells have already died? Anyways to my answer No. not because of the gender swap but because no matter how many times this is done every body has a time limit, so all it is delaying what is to come. this actually reminds me of a quote "for the few to be immortal, countless other must died" cyborg bodies would eliminate this but then you are tethered to electricity rather than your own vitality. cloning a body then implanting your brain could be an option but that leads me to the whole "Sisters" of Index and Railgun and you have to ask don't they each have their own lives?

 

But is the body a little girl's body?

 

im not really into risking things if affects my life but ill give it a go. being not able to move is something i dont want to happen to me for a long period of time. i dont want to drag someone with that misfortune. this scene just reminds me of Yui from Angel Beats. the me in an opposite gender is a bit tricky. if im in that body, its either i go homo or go solo.

Tuesday: I guess I would go through with it. I see my body as a kind of shell more than anything else, so what's the difference between two shells? Though, I'd probably complain even more than usual, due to being pissed off at how a female body must be more difficult and annoying; like having to sit to toilet, and the taboo topics.

Wednesday: I think I may have, but can't for the life of me remember...
