Okay, so last night, actual scum was elected as our Prime Minister. (Not gonna say anything more here on the matter, cause I don't wanna make it a hate thread. PM me if anyone wants more details.)

Sunday's question: Has there been a time you've worried about you or your country’s future?

Mine or my country's future?  Sure, all the time actually.  Personally, there are a lot of things going on in my life.  I'm a college student and I know what career I would like to have after graduation but once I finish college there are no guarantees, so it's easy to worry.  As for my country, there are plenty of reasons to worry.  There are many things I don't agree with, systems that seem broken, and policies/laws that I think are down right silly.  Of course everyone has their own opinions so everyone will see different issues in different ways.  But I think that most citizens will always have a reason to be concerned over their nation's future/well being as well as being concerned over the state of affairs in other countries.  There will always be controversy and conflict so I would say that concern for one's nation's future is fairly common and not abnormal.

Well, other than the govt for the next three years, I was majorly stressed last year in year 12, worried if I'd be able to pass. It was mostly self induced, cause I went into a class that I didn't do in year 11 (blocked out of the one I first wanted), and in addition to doing the "rather difficult" maths, I also put myself in the most difficult maths there was (with only four other people in the class). XD

Without going on a political rant, I'm very wary of the course the US is taking. ObamaCare is going to ruin small business by forcing business owners to pay for insurance for part time workers. I work for a corporation who operates each site as a small business. I've already had to cut my employees' hours so the company doesn't have to provide them insurance. I lost a valuable employee in the process. I foresee that the US population will all start having to work multiple part time jobs to support themselves. I'm also concerned about the NSA and the suggested attack on Syria. The US has too many internal problems to police the world. Fix the problems in our backyard first.

Well, other than the govt for the next three years, I was majorly stressed last year in year 12, worried if I’d be able to pass. It was mostly self induced, cause I went into a class that I didn’t do in year 11 (blocked out of the one I first wanted), and in addition to doing the “rather difficult” maths, I also put myself in the most difficult maths there was (with only four other people in the class). I bit off more than I could chew in year 11 of high school.  I took mostly AP and honors classes.  Though  I understood the content and aced all the tests, I practically refused to do the homework.  I was a bit lazy in that sense back then.  I always saw homework as busy work, which sometimes it is.  But I knew ahead of time about the large homework load before I signed up for those classes.  A bit silly in hind sight.  So I was pretty stressed then, trying, at the last minute, to get all of my homework in just to scrape by.

Without going on a political rant, I’m very wary of the course the US is taking. ObamaCare is going to ruin small business by forcing business owners to pay for insurance for part time workers. I also do not wish to create a political rant, but I'm on the fence about ObamaCare.  I see it's issues but also the benefits.  I'm not sure it's a good idea though I wonder if it could work if things were done a bit differently.  Certainly it would be nice to have universal healthcare for all.  As far as Syria, I'm not too clear on the details because I, for some reason, have abruptly stopped paying much attention to the news over the last month (I blame homework and video games :p).  But from what I've been told they have been using biological weapons on their own citizens.  Certainly that's an issue and you don't want a country that is so ready and willing to use chemical weapons to possess them.  I agree, however, that it is certainly not our job to police the world though.  So I can see why the government would want to launch strikes and take military action against Syria but I also question if we should or if it is our place.  If pressed, I would say I'm against it at the present time.

The last retail company I worked for, Harbor Freight, used to do the same thing with their employees. Most people there were jewed with 29 hours on their pay period so they didn't meet the 32 for medical coverage. Its a depressing time we live in when companies intentionally cut employee's hours just because they can not afford medical care for everyone. So badly to the point where only managers and assistants are getting a full 32-40 hours and benefits. You're making just under the amount to get medical through the company, but not making enough money to afford your own insurance. I can understand companies like Hallmark doing it since I heard that they reported a net loss of $10.8 million for 2011. But Harbor Freight Tools had a revenue of 2 billion in 2010 and only employed 11 thousand people nation wide.

I'm finding it increasingly more difficult to find a job in my field. To the point where I am having to get back into retail and warehousing just to start making money again. And observing the job market these last few months to a couple years does not make me any more hopeful.

I have now forgotten it was Monday 3 different times today. So question time.

If you could spend one week away from work/school what would you spend it doing.

Seeing as the only job I've been able to acquire this year has me working only one day a week, the extra day to the six would be more of the same; Anime, gaming, general slacking, with the occasional burst of job hunting.

I would love to take a vacation. I have friends who just moved to New York I'd like to visit or other people back East. Part of me would just like a week of nothing. Get up when I want, wear my pjs all day, not leave the house--but I could only do that for 3 days before I was bored.

I would also like to go to Japan for a bit but i feel as though the language barrier would be to much for me. Otherwise spending a week home playing games and watching anime sounds very nice right about now

I would love to go on a vacation but it is likely that I would spend most of that time just playing games, watching anime, the usual.

Tuesdays question: Are you a NEET? As I'm in school now, I'm no longer a NEET.
(NEET = Not in Education, Employment, or Training)
