This year's November issue of Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Forward announced on Saturday that author Makoto Fukami (Psycho-Pass, Magical Girl Special Ops Asuka) and artist Koto (Yōkoso Genkai Shūraku e!) will launch a new manga titled Writer × Writer in the next issue on October 24. The magazine teases a story about anime scriptwriters.

Fukami worked with Gen Urobuchi to write the scripts for the Psycho-Pass television anime and the anime film (he did not return for the Psycho-Pass 2 television anime sequel). He has also written or overseen scripts in such anime as School-Live!, Yuruyuri Nachu Yachumi!+, Yuruyuri San Hai!, Berserk, and the Resident Evil: Vendetta movie. He has written the story for such manga as Chotto Kawaii Iron Maiden(collaboration with artist Alpha AlfLayla), Ōsama-tachi no Viking (collaboration with artist Sadayasu), and Magical Girl Special Ops Asuka (collaboration with artist Seigo Tokiya). Seven Seas Entertainment licensed Magical Girl Special Ops Asuka and plans to release the first volume in November.

Fukami launched a manga titled Sekai o Yoku Suru Zankoku na Method (Cruel Method to Make the World Better) with artist Kōsuke Yamanami in December but the manga had ceased publication by April due to Yamanami's health.
