I'm happy with being a "Staff Guest"

 

Hell if there is still talk and willingness I am happy to join in these events.

 

I have some segment ideas. Just random thoughts.

Obviously, start with introducing everyone in the Podcast, including the guest.

Next could be Site News; This is where we'll update people on the current JustDubs happenings, such as updates to the forum, ongoing contests, other promotions or announcements and such. We could also cover the most recently added anime to the site to show that we're constantly getting new episodes. We could also throw in upcoming club events here if there are any scheduled.

Next could be something like New Release News; where we look at some of the latest airing anime and offer our current opinion on them, while also mentioning future releases and our expectations of them. I feel like, even though we're a dubbed site, it'd be a good idea to put this earlier since people might be more willing to continue listening if we mention currently airing anime. Make sure that the guest can offer their opinion on the anime as well [Pre-coordinate which animes you want to talk about to keep the discussion moving].

Possibly something like Upcoming Dubbed News; could be useful as a topic of discussion. We could use some of the articles that the media mods post to try and generate a discussion about upcoming dubs. We could debate about chosen voice actors/actresses, talk about our expectations for certain dubs, or talk about which animes deserve dubs.

Afterward, we could do something like Guest's Pick; where the Podcast guest gets to pick an anime that they want to give a spotlight to. This is their chance to make their voice heard and defend an anime they think is undervalued, offer their opinion on an anime they recently watched, or talk about their favorite anime. This is the section where the guest gets to be the "host" persay [Still pre-coordinate though so whoever is hosting it can possibly think of some questions to ask about the anime if they have/haven't seen it].

Hot Fire Questions; could be a fun section where the hosts ask the guest a series of 5 tough questions pertaining to whatever. For example; "Ok Meta, let's start Hot Fire Questions. Question 1, if you were a class in the Fate;Stay night series, what class would you be?" Or something stupid like "If you had to watch Glasslip straight through, with no breaks, who would you force to watch it with you?"

We can always have fun random segments in between. Nothing has to be set in stone. In fact, it'd probably be better if we only had like 4 or so sections that were guaranteed and the rest we just made up random sections. Too much planning can be counter-intuitive. But all this is assuming people actually want to give this a shot. I don't have the patience for editing, and I don't know how to record it, but I'd offer to help any way I could if we got this going again.

I don't really have any experience with editing audio, but I'll keep a look out for anyone who does.

 

If we're bringing back the podcast then I would like in on it! I wouldn't mind giving reviews and my own thoughts on anime and games as well as site news. I have a little bit of experience with audacity, I just have to dust it off a little. But just don't ask me to edit anything yet..... might take me some time to get the hang of editing.

 

As above, I'm happy to host, co-host, or just appear as a guest. Basically talking a lot is my only skill.

But, with regards to the recorder, would they just sit in on the podcast and record the skype call?

I know that a lot of podcasts just have the participants record (via Audacity) on their own end, rather than recording the skype call. Clap at the beginning to sync up the recordings and then send the finished recordings to the editor. Idk. I've no experience with that, but it's just an idea. It may lead to higher quality audio, but it may be more of a pain to edit.

Colme had a recording program and he managed it.

 

Pretty sure i could handle the editing if need be.I have some software already ill just have look into recording from skype ill get back to yall after i look into it, got head work bbl.

well i recorded meeting on mumble before, for a server i was working with, got test and see it will work for skype.No idea what goggle hangouts is but i think its on my phone..
