Why not just make a new account/user instead of resetting it?

 

because I get all kinds of hate mail along with all his game junk is on there. Is the only thing I can do to get rid of his stuff is resetting it?

 

Pretty much or deleting it one by one. If you go under system setting, there should be a "Restore PS3 system" option. That formats the whole PS3 (deletes games, DLC, pics, videos, saved data, accounts..... pretty much everything) and makes you start from the beginning, like getting it brand new. The only reason I told you to make a new user is so that you can still play the games and DLC that are in the system but with a different separate PSN account so you don't get hate mail.

Maybe this thread's title should be changed to PS4 or PSN? Anyway, since it seems I've never posted my PSN anywhere, and I just got a PS4, I'll post it here since this seems to be the place for it.
