New story elements hint at being tied back to Science Adventure games
Author and MAGES. president Chiyomaru Shikura revealed on Sunday that a port of 5pb.'s visual novel game of Shikura's Occultic;Nine novel is in development for a new platform. The new port will contain new foreshadowing, and a "true ending" that portrays what happens after the main story. Those who have purchased the game will receive the additional content through a patch.

In a separate Tweet, Shikura stated that the new story elements will "bring [the story] back" to the Science Adventure game series (Chaos;HEAd, Steins;Gate, Robotics;Notes, Chaos;Child). Shikura does not consider the novel or the visual novel as part of the Science Adventure series.

The game shipped both physically and digitally on November 9, delayed from its original September 28 release.

Shikura announced the game in March 2015 as an adaptation of his "paranormal science" novel series. J-Novel Club is releasing the novel series digitally in English, and it describes the story:

Yuta Gamon, a young boy who lives in Kichijoji, runs an occult blog called "Kirikiri Basara." He spends his days dreaming of making a fortune off his affiliate links. What starts off as a tiny feeling that something's wrong develops into a case that goes beyond imagination. Suddenly, Yuta brings together the fates of nine strangers. Black magic, the afterlife, psychics, fortune-telling, other dimensions, prophecies, hypnosis, urban legends... The world is filled with flim-flam!
A 12-episode television anime adaptation of the series premiered in October 2016 and ended in December 2016. Crunchyroll and Daisuki both streamed the series as it aired, and Aniplex of America has licensed the series. Aniplex of America is releasing the series on home video with an English dub.
