Melee March Nominations

Well I guess Someone had to nominate Ichigo. Kinda surprised Spor didn't just nominate another Fairy Tail character though. Like that girl with the sword that uses Gravity Magic. I forget her name but she REALLY hated Jellal.

@Minisiets Yup. And from what I remember, she does essentially nothing cause her weapon is pretty useless.

What are you smoking? She wields a gambol shroud, a folding katana with a sharpened sheath that can be dual wielded when unsheathed and has a hidden pistol in the hilt, and furthermore she has ribbons attached to use it like a kusarigama. I mean that pretty much tops most other weapons in this competition to begin with; I don't know why we're strictly holding her to RWBY standards of absurdity here as if her weapons aren't already crazy enough compared to every other nomination.

Come on, go Nora or at least Ruby. Pretty please?

The requirement is that the character be a Melee fighter. So swords, axes, spears, fists, ect all count. The ones who are a bit questionable are ones like black who also have a gun of some kinda. But Red seems okay with those too so I guess unless they are more long range than Melee then they are fair game. Although I think we should still try to stick to purely Melee characters as much as possible.

Yeah, it's cool looking and whatnot, but I don't remember it ever doing much at all against those monsters. Not like Nora's rocket powered hammer.

Over all not a bad list I guess. Personally I don't think Dante should be on this list since he actively uses two guns but Red herself nominated him so oh well. But besides one or two others everyone is an excellent Melee fighter and unless I overlooked someone we didn't get any troll entries. So this should be a fun round assuming I don't get too busy and lose track of another round.

 

Dang it, i just realized i should have nomed Kanzaki instead of touma, oh well. Touma will still put up a good fight

Yeah, it’s cool looking and whatnot, but I don’t remember it ever doing much at all against those monsters. Not like Nora’s rocket powered hammer.

@Mafiacow Yeah, but that's partly because Blake didn't even fight the scorpion. Team JNPR pretty much handled that entire battle. Blake and Yang in general haven't gotten much of a chance to show off their powers yet in the series, but if you watch the trailers, you know that they still definitely can hold their own.

Anyway, I dunno why you're objecting so much. I would have thought you of all people could appreciate her character after learning her backstory. If we're just voting this competition based on the weapons, then a lot of these noms are pretty weak to be honest; most of them are just generic sword wielders when it comes right down to it. I picked Blake more for her character than just the weapon (though I do happen to think her weapon is cooler than most of these noms too).

I meant against that bird thing too; both the bullets and the whip thing seemed to do shit all against it.
Oh right, forgot about the trailers, kinda wasn't paying that much attention when I saw them.

My "objecting so much" would most likely be due to my Nora bias. And yeah, I did say I liked her cause of her backstory. XD
