    Welcome to our first ever Maylodies Elimination Game.

    This game will be all about music, but not anime characters playing music but about opening theme songs before the anime epsiode begins. It's a little different than anything we've done before.

    I'm putting all the matchups in the spoiler tags below so everyone can see when their nominee is up. No bracket this month, maybe we can do a bracket game again next month. Not sure yet.

    Rules:

    - Keep your butthurt to a minimum.

    - Votes must be tallied in order to be valid.

    - Use the Spoiler Insert when needed.

    - Do not make fake accounts in order for your contestant to win, they will be invalid, we know who participates in these games.

    - In the case of a tie, I will ask the two members who nominated each contestant to PM me a number.

    - If you do not send in a number before one of the 2 characters are to start their next round, your character will be disqualified. If both numbers are not sent in time, both characters will be disqualified and the character in the next round will get a free pass.

    - In the event that the round is not called 30 minutes after the match has ended anyone is free to end the match and proceed things to the next round.

    - You cannot change your nominations once the game has started.

    I can't vote right now, don't have the time to check both songs out but i will probably vote tomorrow. The Future Diary video doesn't work for me, it's disabled for my country, if this is the case for everyone i'll post a working video tomorrow, or Vladnyx might do it before then. It probably works in America tho.

    Oh my. Bloody hell these match ups. I hate them. To me there are some weaker entries in this list and most of mine are up against some of the strongest themes around. How the hell am I meant to choose, let alone convince other people to vote against such well known themes.
    Also no @Batosai Vladnyx linked Funi's video which are notorious for not sharing their content with other countries. Even I can't watch it, but Mirai Nikki is something almost everyone has seen so I don't have to.

    Now about mine, Flyers is from a newer series about a dark subject matter. Judgment after death. Something of this nature is expected to be more dull or grungy I'd imagine. However the production company went in the complete opposite direction, getting Bradio to do an upbeat and happy opening theme with the cast dancing cheerily alone playing games. There is quite a lot of symbolism used in it as well, but who cares because "Everybody, put your hands up". This theme blew up in popularity when it aired so much so that Bradio even released a version of themselves taking the places of the characters


    Although Mirai Nikki's theme is still good as well.....

    It's rare that I ever vote against my own nominations, but how can I not after that great amount of information. Death Parade was a much more recent series that came out about being judged after death to determine if you'd reincarnate or go to hell or worse. As Super stated you'd automatically assume this series to have a gloomy, dark, sad, disheartening aspect to it. However, production chose to do something risky and give us all a upbeat thrown you hands up opening we can all get behind. Lastly I'll just mention this as something extra. This series was spawned from the short film "Death Billiards" which was originally produced by Madhouse for the Young Animator Training Project: Anime Miria 2013 having been released in March of 2013.

    Oh and my apologies to everyone for my video link. I like to try to give credit to the person/person's work so as to support them. Anyway I have another video though it contains all the openings and endings in sequential order. It should work for everyone.

    I really like the direction they went with Death Parade. Still watching it slowly in between other series since it's some kind of episodic stuff, not only the opening theme is bright, in between judging the characters and people who have died going insane finding out they are dead, i really like the episodes aswell. It's not too dark either. And whats with the clown xD

    This one is also disabled in my country xD

    This might give some fun twists :p

    Thanks Bato good to be back had a few busy months were I was unable to walk properly for about 1 month & pair that with Work and ya... but should be calming down now and I should be able to post/vote on a more regular basis.

    It can be about both. Whatever you want. Mainly the music but i don't mind people voting for the animation or if you think something special was done with it.

    I loved Mirai Nikki and it's opening. But i like Death Parade's OP too. And i tend to vote against a theme when the person who nominated it doesn't support his own theme :p

    Hmm a theme that I've never really heard before or a theme from a show that had just entered into a super important arc. Easy choice here, I never actually liked that FT theme as I skipped it every time. FT op 1 was great, most of the stuff after that was boring to sit through time and time again. Plus I'm not a huge fan of filling an opening with spoilers the way most Jump anime do.
    Meanwhile the old school Hunter x Hunter theme is simplistic and keeps its info down. We have the protagonists getting ready before a big day of journeying. It doesn't show too much and it is a nice calming theme, before the storm that is to come that all journey anime have. Simply titled Ohayou, meaning good morning [should be obvious to everyone here by now], it seems to be the perfect way to start a brand new series where we don't know anyone yet.

    Kek, I was meaning to nom this game, but of course never got around to it. Good to see some solid noms. Last round I woulda been with Everbody, puttin' my hands up!~ But as for this round...

    HxH is just a bit slow in my taste of music. On top of that, I didn't find the animations to match well to the music.
    Fairy Tail's though, nice and upbeat, and great job of syncing.
