Matthew McConaughey, Scarlett Johansson & more get vocal for the Sing teaser

Having conquered the world with its Minions, Illumination Entertainment is hoping you'll fall for its animals. The Secret Life Of Pets is due on June 24, and after that, the company is unleashing the critter-filled world of Sing upon us all. See the first teaser.

Sing is set in a universe entirely inhabited by talking animals where koala impresario Buster Moon (Matthew McConaughey) is desperate to save the one-grand theatre that he runs. Buster will do anything to keep it, and decides that the best way is via the world's biggest singing competition.

As the rounds continue, five main contenders emerge: a mouse (Seth McFarlane) who is a crook with a smooth voice, a teenage elephant (singer Tori Kelly), a busy mother sow (Reese Witherspoon), who juggles the demands of her 25 piglets with her singing ambitions, a young, tough gorilla (Taron Egerton) and a punk-rock porcupine with the proven pipes of Scarlett Johansson. But who will win? And which animal will be chosen to spoof Simon Cowell?

With the presence of Son Of Rambow's Garth Jennings in the director's chair, we're hopeful this will represent more than just a chance to shoehorn in a variety of popular songs to crowd the soundtrack and generate buzz. The film will be out in the UK next January.
