Haha, oh that JustDubs takedown. It was truly terrifying. I've lost my near infinite library of everything niche and weird. The shitposts were fantastic though.

reddit helped me find other sources so not too concerned but I do miss the more niche stuff KA had. Would have been nice if someone achieved those as I doubt any one would order those to be removed. Would be easy to argue that they are for educational historic records.

Exactly this. The older series will be lost forever if not for piracy. No legal way exists of watching some newer shows as it is. Do you really think that america will license the original Astro Boy? I was "watching" Attack no 1, which is a significant shoujo sports series from the 70's. I didn't exactly like it and hadn't watched an episode in more than a year, but without KA I would have to find the source of the download to ever see it again.
So many obscure shorts gone forever too.

I think I know the one you're talking about. I saw comments from people saying that they didn't even notice that site died, so perhaps there were a lot of people using the cloned one?
Who knows, I'm using a different one for new releases but I haven't found a really good one for older stuff yet.
