This year's 15th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump Magazine announced on Thursday that Mobcast is developing a smartphone game based on Yasuhisa Hara's Kingdom manga. The game, titled Kingdom Ran -Tenkatōitsu e no Michi- (Kingdom War -Road to Unification-), is slated to launch this summer for iOS and Android devices. The official website is currently accepting pre-registrations for a pre-launch campaign with in-game bonuses.

The tagline on the official website reads "This is why troubled times are interesting."

Hara's historical manga centers around the slave boy, Xin, and his dream of becoming a great general for the state of Qin. Xin helps Ying Zheng, the young Qin king who shares his desire to unify China, rise to power within the state. The manga follows Xin as he does all that he can to become a superior commander of an army capable of defeating the Seven Warring States.

A real-life escape game event in collaboration with the manga will open in Japan on March 24. Shueisha began streaming a live-action short based on the manga last April of the manga's 10th anniversary.

The record-setting manga has been running in Weekly Young Jump since 2006. Shueisha released the 45th compiled book volume in Japan on January 19. A television anime adaptation premiered in 2012, and a second season premiered in 2013. Funimation streamed the series in North America, and released both series on DVD last year.

Hmm so a lot is happening for Kingdom, but I'd prefer if it got another anime damn it. I hope this happens for it sometime soon because it was a really enjoyable watch. I know they changed some stuff du to censorship [why in a series about war?] but it would be great to see it come back.
