It was pretty damn epic thoughShit = fanKiryuin is set on not just taking over Honnouji but all of Japan.World maybe?Rich parents so they pretty much instilled her entitledness since birth. I hate people like this, I really do.

 

Well I can guess what will probably happen next. Ryuko will probably go out with her sword and hunt down all the uniforms that have pieces of senketsu in them in order to revive him. After all it seems she was able to hold onto the red scarf part so if she just cuts senketsu out of the other uniforms he'll probably be fixed.

It makes sense that they did this since she already defeated the elite 4 there were only a couple people to beat and 12 episodes to go. So instead of throwing a bunch of stupid losers at her they took away Senketsu so now she has to fight without her full Kamui until she gets him back. Plus it's good for the MC to actually lose once in a while.

 

Yeah that sounds about right, the great quest to gather Senketsu as revive him to his former glory, well they had to do something. I’m interested in this development though because while obvious it gives us another look at how good Ryuko is without her talents being heightened by a suit, in the beginning she wasn’t very good so has she grown at all by herself? That is what I’m wondering.

I Liked this episode for whatever reason, I think it had to do with the fake male as he added a few extra bits of humour to the show. So far it had been basically Mako or whatever ecchi moments managed to make you chuckle so I liked the addition of this.

And Mako gets what she wanted, a visit to one of the war locations it should be fun.

But I agree with Meta, I like seeing an MC lose every now and then, especially so thoroughly. Although I could of gone for another losing control face from Ryuko as well.



I didn't think about that but yeah it would be nice to see how much she can really do without Senketsu. After all it would seem Nui and even Ryuko's father could both fight pretty well without even a uniform. So she should be able to get Senketsu back if she just develops a bit on her own.

 

@Supernatural Knight Well looks like we were a little off. Rather than a great quest it was more "Mow everyone down and prepare to fight the pres". I thought it would be at least a few episodes but it only took three scenes to get all but one piece back. Which is kinda dissapointing because I wanted to see more of her climbing her way back to the top and gathering fragments. I didn't want to see her slowly get back each and every one but I would have liked more than just three scenes of her tearing right through everyone. But here is something I don't get. Since when was the glove part of Senketsu? I thought rapist teacher gave it to her so that she could easily give senketsu blood. So why is it the last fragment now?

Well anyway it was another good episode. An all out war with lots of explosions and Mako basically being a tourist in the middle of it all. What would have been fun would if she has defeated the whole school or at least a dozen or two guys and upstaged mr.swordsman then just walked off with a giant pile of money. Also I wonder if they'll make senketsu look different or if he'll just be the same as before.

 

He'll probably look the same.
Next episode will be the climax of the first half, then 16 will contain the new OP and ED.

 

I'm still here watching. I just haven't had much time to post being right back in school (and taking one more class than last semester). The last few episodes have been good. I'm kinda glad Ryuko lost Senketsu, though not rally happy with how fast she already ~99% of him back already. Also I have no screenshots because during winter break my ISP claimed my family went over out download limit and reduced our speed, so it was difficult to download and upload anything.

 

@metazoxan, I know right, I mean seriously what the hell? Senketsu was destroyed and what would usually lead to a battle royal showing her true strengths filling up many episodes was essentially completed in 1 episode. You have no idea how disappointed I was by this complete destruction of the student body. What especially annoys me though is that it wasn’t even just her new found strength but the enhanced power from having his scarf, damn this episode ruined a lot of my expectations, it was still good but what a lot of wasted potential epic fight scenes. As for the glove, I have no idea, maybe he equipped it much like gurren lagann did with the wings.

Well now I guess we only have the fight with lady Satsuki to enjoy, and then whatever other bullshit the decide to throw our way after that.
After the initial hype I’ve had I can now watch this with a more open mind, and now I see it for only a 7 worthy rating instead of the current 8 I have it set as, although this animation when used in fights is really effective and great to watch.


Well as for the scarf it seems he only lends her minimal strength. So it apparently it is like 90% all her.

In their defense it seems like Matoi still have a lot to do and only 12ish episodes to do it all. So I guess they coudln't devote a ton of time to the Ryuko getting the pieces back (Still wish it had at least been more than three quick scenes). On the bright side they did adress the fact taht she really has gotten stronger so that she can fight without Senketsu and we'll probably get to see her fight the pres without her full Kamui as well. So ya have to give the show a little credit for not completely failing us there. It could have been a lot worse and if they show off a lot of Ryuko with the Satsuki fight then it will make up for the rushed fragment gathering. At least they didn't pull an Inuyasha and have her gathering a thousand and one stupid shards which given their apparent size and quantity equal far more mass than the jewel itself.

Maybe I'm being a little too soft on this show but they really could have done a lot worse and if this was rushed in order to have enough episodes to reach the end properly then I'd understand.

 

Okay new episode! I'm a bit disapointed the Kamuiless fight was so short but the fact that Satsuki felt the need to use her Kamui against Ryuko and the fact that Ryuko wasn't instantly killed says a heck of a lot. Plus the Kamui rematch was a lot of fun to watch so I'll forgive the show. I noticed the upgraded three star uniforms were a lot smaller than the old ones. I guess part of the upgrade was to make them more compact and not so pointlessly big. Like music girls used to be more like a ship than a uniform and now it's more like a suit with a jetpack. Kendo guys looked more like a giant mecha before and now looks like armor. Gamagori's actually looks a little bigger but her was huge to start with so can't help that.

Speaking of that guy has anyone else noticed Gamagori seems strangely conscious of Mako. First he seems unusually shocked to see her behind Ryuko then he actually bothers to warn her to put the blade down and says he'll hurt "even her" if she refused. Even before this episode he seemed rather open to her while sitting in the audience after losing his fight. I'm not trying to ship them or anything but I can't be the only one who thinks he seems to be paying a lot of attention to her.

The only one I don't like is the Tech guys new uniform. He looks like an unfinished hologram or something. Seriously they could have done better with that one.


Overall I really liked the episode. The fights were epic and we saw more signs of how much Ryuko has grown not just as a fighter but as a person. Maybe not quite in the way we had hoped (as in more Kamuiless fighting) but it's sighs of growth none the less which is better than glossing over it all together like other shows will sometimes do.


I'm glad this show hasn't truly disappointing us so far. Not everything is perfect and there are flaws but overall this show really is good. Ryuko isn't just your generic revenge protagonist, Satsuki isn't just your generic villain, the rest of the cast is colorful and interesting. Not every character might be your favorite but at least none of them are boring. That actually desribes a lot of things in this show. You might not like how fanservicy Senketsu is but it's certainly not boring, you might not like how crazy the plot gets at times but it's certainly not boring, you might not like that pervert fake teacher but he's certainly not boring. So while it might be possible to not like this show I don't think anyone can really call it boring.

I hope so. I'd love to see more back story and development from the supporting cast. Ryuko has developed a lot over these last few epiosdes and Satsuki has shown just a bit more of herself to so now it's time for the rest of the cast to get some focus. A good anime needs to give time to it's supporting cast and not just their mains.

That is why I love one piece and have grown to dislike Bleach. Once piece gave each member of the crew a backstory arc which beautifully showed how each one came to become who they are. Bleach just says "Screw those losers it's all about Ichigo" and makes everyone's existence pointless because Ichigo has every kind of power in the series anyway.

But going back to Kill la kill I kinda wish Mako would get a goku uniform again. Not exactly so that she can fight side by side with Ryuko but just so that she can do more than cheer in the background. Alternatively maybe "Nudist beach" could give her some weapons.

No, a lot of people are shipping them since this episode aired.
But I just think it's part of his job.

On topic this episode was a big let down for me.
Though please give Ryuuko's VA an award.
She really does deserve it.

But his job mostly entails enforcing Satsuki's rules and commands. So it's odd that he could casually take out so many other people but hesitate with Mako and even warn her to stop. I mean you don't normally say "Even you" to just some student.Then again maybe it is nothing and he only gives her attention because the author wanted to give mako the spot light for a little bit. But it still just makes you wonder if there might be something more.

 

So about this weeks episode..

 

You have to admit this anime is definitely unique. Few other anime would have such an absurd plot and that is why I love it.

Also I wonder what Satsuki is up to. The expression on her face seemed to say she isn't really so into this "Life fibers ruling the world" thing. So is she really working with them or is she just using them for her own ambition? Maybe I'm giving her too much credit but I want to think that she is more than just your typical villain and that she has a master plan just waiting to begin. Plus she seems far too kind to her subordinates to be on the side of the ones trying to enslave everyone.

 

I can see Satsuki has a bit of a soft spot for Ryuuko too.
Of all the times she defeated Ryuuko, she could have easily killed her.
But no, she lets her go.
And the blanket scene in episode 13 shows it too.
Methinks there may be some sort of chemistry between Satsuki and Ryuuko.
