If you could wake up tomorrow as a Japanese student would you?

The only thing that excited me in high school was girls and now as a 22 almost 23 year old man it's much harder to excite me. They had clubs at my high school (the Judo club teacher wanted me to join but the last thing I wanted to do was to spend more time at school). I'm sure in Japan I would be just as much of a weirdo outcast with no friends as I was here.

 

Ha, you and I sound alike. I despised school in my youth, and only wanted to get away from there as soon as possible so I can get back to playing video games or sleeping (this was before I got into anime), I did have a couple friends but they rarely wanted to hang out because I was that weird guy. I wanted nothing to do with romance (nor do I really now) as it only would cause drama in my small school. As for clubs, there was nothing even remotely interesting to join, I was offered to join track since the coach wanted me in, but I turned her down since I didn't like sports plus it was my senior year, so it would be pointless to do anything at that point of time.

 

I didn't mind school when I was a little kid, that changed when my family moved towns and everything was so different. I didn't just despise High School, I despised most of the teachers and especially the students and they hated me right back. Maybe I could make friends in Japan if the people are friendlier, but its hard to imagine. And it's hard to imagine myself acting friendly. I have no patience with people and I'm generally a dick even to cute girls. I did briefly have a girlfriend but she was cheating on me the whole time so that didn't last. I mostly just tried to sleep through class, go home and watch porn, play video games or watch anime, and post on pro wrestling message boards and roleplays. I used to be into sports. I tried out for basketball freshman year but they already had the team picked out and try outs were just a formality. If you don't make it freshman year you have 0 chance of making the team any other year so I just stopped playing. Oh and when I say I had no friends I mean zero friends, never hung out with anyone or went to any parties or did anything.

 

I would also sleep through my classes whenever possible.

 

The problem was I never usually fell asleep cause I didn't trust the other students not to try some dumb shit while I was sleeping.

 

They would never fuck with me, but then again I wouldn't trust them either. I was only usually in a state of sleep where you're still aware but asleep at the same time, so then I'd at least know when the bell rang.

 

Probably wouldn't of fucked with me either but I was real paranoid. I hated when anyone was sitting in a desk behind mine, I never felt comfortable if I knew someone was there but I couldn't see them.

 

Ya, I know the feeling. I don't like anyone sitting at the same table as me when I go to break at work. Unless I know them well enough.

 

At my last job I ate in my (mom's) car every day. Didn't talk to anyone much other than the obligatory "good morning" and "good night" unless someone asked me to do something for them. There was a girl I liked but I never really talked to her.

 

I don't really have the luxury of privacy when it comes to break time. And usually workplace romances aren't a really great idea, they can cause drama if there is a "hiccup."

 

Why can't you have privacy? If its not to nosy of a question.

 

I mean as in the break room is the only place I can really go during my breaks. I have no car during that time to go anywhere. So I have to sit in a room with fellow co-workers who are at least within 5-7ft away from me.
I can still have a little bit of privacy but if I want to watch any videos or browse the web on my phone, I have to put it up close to my face so no one else sees what I'm doing/watching.

I can't say that I was in the same boat as you guys I moved schools a lot so I can't say that I ever developed any strong feelings towards those I studied with. When it came to lunch I would drift from group to group for the sake of killing time, I was accepted, but that started to get on my nerves after a while so I stopped talking to anyone at lunch, the reason it got on my nerves was because the conversations they had were so unamusing even half awake I could see were the conversations were going before they got there, everyone just trying to amuse one another with the same tired references to things they'd seen or done before.
I got into anime when college ended and after summer break I started work as an engineer which brings me to now.
Despite what I said about lunch times I enjoyed school I got in every day at 7:30 studied in the library until first period at lunch I drifted most days while other days I spent in the LRC (learning resource center) or art room and then at 6:00 I went home.
I never slept in class or cursed my classmates.

 

Does it count as nostalgia if it wasn't exactly pleasant times?

Also for the topic would I actually be 15 again or 22 in a 15 year old body? I wouldn't do it either way but the former would be better than the later. I don't want to be the guy from ReLife.

Seems like you had a goal, or some kind of idea who you wanted to be. That would have made school a lot more enjoyable. I was just another lost kid who didn't appreciate anything. I knew I could never afford college so I thought studying was a waste of time.

 

Yes this is a relife situation, not that it matters.

I just choose to aim for what I was proficient at, work is work I'm not passionate about engineering.

 

So it's that type? We're (whatever age we are currently) in a 17yr old appearance? It has some pros and cons if we're going with ReLife.

 

I wouldn't say it's exactly like relife because you won't get backaches and other age related strains.

 

I'd prefer to go back during the year that I am that age. Not a 22yr old in a 15yr old body.

Because you're the same age.
I'd prefer to go back to that year with my knowledge intact.
