The author is working on another series called 12 beast http://www.mangahere.co/manga/12_beast/.

It's only 9 chapters so far but if you want to see more of this guy's work it's interesting. It's more action focused than Monster Musume.


On another note Rumor has it that they are going to announce an anime adaptation soon for Monster Musume.

 

Not a rumour, check ANN, it's slated for July.

 

Ah. I hadn't heard any actual confirmation. Weird how this just came out of nowhere all of a sudden, it's this july right?

In any case real glad to see this become a thing. With harem anime becoming so common and themes so tired and over used the monster girls thing feels fresh and the characters themselves are pretty interesting.

 

Darling is best MC.

 

Funny thing is I don't even remember his name. I think they said it at least once but I don't remember because NO ONE EVER USES IT!

Ah. I don't know of any other MC so rarely called by his own name. It's always Darling, master, hubby, or something

 

I'm actually glad they don't.
I'm also glad he's not an ordinary high school boy, and he's not useless or spineless.
He's in the middle, somewhat dense but still aware.
Also he's the greatest self-insert Harem MC ever.

 

Agreed. It's one of the reasons I really like the series. Heis neigher a shameless pervert or an overly pure kid. He's neigther strangely sharp nor overly thick. So he feels a lot like an actual person or at least pretty close to how an actual good guy would act in such situations. He's still a little overly pure and kind but he's still much more realistic than most and at the very least he's not a clueless idiot.

 

Yeah, and this is the only time I'll forgive the "I love him cause he's nice" thing.
Solely cause, he's nice to all of them, he treats them as people first, monsters second.

 

It's because this time it makes sense. Most series like this just have him be a normal nice guy and that's it. But here they live in a world where pretty much every human treats them as weird or a bother unless it's their job not to. So "Darling" is the first guy most of them have met that treated them like people. Like Arachnee's previous host family who didn't abuse her but apparently treated her like a troublesome thing they had to deal with. The only time he treats them as monster girls is when he's taking care of their specific needs.

 

Thank you based Monster Musume. And now you and me can wait for the anime.

 

Read Citrus Ch. 15. This is the worst Yuri manga I've ever read. It's basically shoujo-esque plot and drama just mixed with lesbians.

 

I havn't had the chance to come out and here all that much and after reading the above I may have just found some thing to spend the slow mornings at work with.

Speaking of Monster Musume, I recently found out that my local libraries have it. I would pick it up but I have enough reading material as is.

 

Please borrow them, I wanna see the reactions of the librarians faces.

 

better yet read one of the volumes while checking out and "accidentally" let them see one of the more fan servicey scenes.

 

If only I could do that lol but sadly, the only way to check out books is through a self service kiosk. Either way, I doubt they'd be surprise since they should know what they have. I remember skimming through one of the Battle Royal volumes I checked out for my brother and I will tell you that it caught me by surprise, I though it was hentai for a minute
