forest of the dread

Jonathan used his weapon to help lift himself up quicker. Dragging his weapon across the leaves he walked in closer to Jakku, he anticipated him to fire the second he saw him moving closer to him but it didn't stop him, in preparation he lightened his feet so he could dodge anything coming at him. As he wasn't going to instigate the situation waiting for a shot to come was the best thing he could do.

"If you want the answer, read what I wrote. I haven't stepped foot inside that sanctuary in over a year."

Dalton took a second to think it over. He still didn't trust this man in the slightest, but he did raise a good point. In the short time he'd known him, Dalton could tell that Jakku was beyond reckless and odds were good that he was getting himself in trouble at this very moment. He didn't like the idea of taking his eyes off of Nephilim even for a moment but ultimately decided it was worth the risk. "He probably won't try anything. No reason for him to right now as far as I can tell." Keeping these thoughts to himself, he gave Nephilim a nod.
"Point taken. Somebody's got to make sure he doesn't get himself killed and since I'm the one who hired him, might as well be me."
He turned around and took walked towards the door, stopping for a moment before he opened it.
"Maybe I'll try that...these days I usually hire someone else to do the grunt work for me but who knows. It might be fun to get my hands dirty again."
He opened the door and walked out, making his way into the woods.

What he found when he arrived was exactly what he was hoping wouldn't happen. From a distance, as he crouched behind a tall bush for cover, he could see Jakku staring down a group of what appeared to be demonic soldiers. But there were two figures in the horde that stood out; one seemed to be their leader but he wasn't sure who the other figure was.
"What have you gotten yourself into?"
Keeping silent, he grasped the hilt of his dagger just in case the situation escalated out of control. He saw them trade a few blows back and forth but nothing serious came of it just yet. They were still talking, so he took this as a good sign.

Curiously, he scanned the area for anyone else that might be lurking around.
"I'm not the only one watching. Where are you...and what are you after?"
A feeling of uneasiness crept up on him as he kept an eye out for the mysterious onlooker while keeping track of Jakku, not even daring to make a single sound.

 

well that would be around the time in which the event happened and I'm sure you were there on the night all I want to know is what summoning spell did they use and how do I get rid of it

 

"These accusations are baseless and false. Is this a joke; or are you trying to stain my reputation? Regardless now you can die."

By this time Jonathan had already closed the gap between Jakku and Him. Grabbing a hold of Jakku by his neck he threw him over his shoulders and slammed his weapon directly on the side of his head. He didn't want to kill him, He wanted him to leave him alone.

"I will give you one last warning, when I release you. You will leave and go back, I do not fear you or death. I wasn't in that sanctuary when something was summoned, let alone knowing anything about it."

Jonathan picked up Jakku again and this time he threw him away from him and towards the sanctuary, however he flew directly into a tree. Jonathan gave an inhale as he knew something was off. He spoke to artikka silently.

"There are 2 new people that have showed up. I think it's time for us to go."

Jonathan grabbed Artikka and threw her over his shoulder. He jumped up into the trees and sprinted across them in the same style that artikka did making a quick escape, there was no way for any of them to follow. They were completely out of sight and impossible to track down with how fast they left. Once at a safe distance he dropped from the trees and placed her down.

"Are you okay, Madam??"

 

Arttikka looked at the human, Jakku. She wanted so badly to dispose of him but that would waste more time then what was already.

After Arttikka was placed down back on the floor, she was a little shocked with Jonathan's actions. Her Raven soon followed after her. It flew straight onto her shoulder as though it was her pet and it gave Jonathan a glance as though it was scanning him.
"I...I am. Why would you?" Arttikka asked.

 

Jakku got back on his feet* " that went well I wondered weather or not you would show up Dalton "

 

Seeing that the demons had left, Dalton stepped out from cover and was immediately noticed by Jakku.
"Could've been worse. You could have gotten yourself killed."
He shook his head.
"One of these days, charging out on your own straight into danger isn't gonna go the way you think it will. Try to be a little more careful."
He turned around and started making his way towards the priory, still looking around to see if anyone else was sneaking around.
"Let's head back. Keep an eye out, I get the feeling we might still have someone watching us."
He had sensed another presence somewhere nearby but wasn't sure if they'd left yet or not.

 

After a short nap Laura got up from her bed.
Hmm, guess I should get dinner ready. Wonder what the others are doing?

She went downstairs and was surprised to see it was empty
Oh? Are they outside? Well guess I'll fix something up. This food is about to go bad soon, might as well eat it all up now when it's still fresh!

Laura wasn't a great cook by any stretch, but once a week it was up to her to cook for the sisters.
If I keep a low profile they won't bother me much. I hope they explore those forests for treasure. I can't do it alone. If I can just...nudge them in the right direction...

Laura looked at the library door. Looks like no one went in.
Maybe I'll share some of the stories I heard about the forest. I bet that will pique their interest!

Laura continued cooking unaware of the situation outside

"we should go after them"

 

"Not if we want to live. And personally, I didn't plan on dying today."
It was clear that Dalton's frustration was growing quickly.
"Do I really have to spell it out for you why following that group is a bad idea? Look, I'm not gonna drag you back to the priory, but I ain't following you to your grave either. If you've got any kind of sense, you'll follow me."
He started walking back towards the priory, hoping that Jakku would stay close behind.

 

"I told you, I only hunt hybrids, and I injured you. I ain't about to toss someone who can't properly defend themselves to the wolves. And I don't like when someone makes wild accusations about me. As much as I wanted to kill him I have a moral stance against it. Ain't no need to shed blood. Sides' if they keep pursuing us they'll just get tired."

Jonathan took a seat back against a tree again. He wanted to rest like he was back before they were interupted, he waited hours and gave artikka time to heal. He knew with her around no demon would try to find them.

"When you're done healing you and I are walking to a town. Its called archway. Or at least I call it that. The entrance has a huge arch. But it's a great town. They sell everything you need from weaponry to medical supplies. Having the coin for it though is a while other battle."

Neph, stood up and walked behind Laura. He was silent in doing so. He observed what she was cooking and then stepped back from her.

"Good evening. I hope your nap was delightful."

 

The Raven that originally joined Arttikka landed in a near by tree.
" There's no need to allow me to heal. I will to so as I travel. I was headed to the Forbidden Temple. If we waste anymore time, we won't make it on time."
She brought out a small metal rod from under her cloak.
"This is all I need."
