A black cloak being was setting up camp in the middle of the forest. It was surrounded by several mindless demons who seem to act as the being's body guards. They seemed to be growling and squabbling over some meat they caught. Although there are enough to go around. The figure sat at a safe distance away from them as she was disinterested in their fight. However, the demon fight was getting closer and one accidentally fell backwards which resulted in it falling over the cloaked figure. The cloak's hood came off and revealed a young albino girl as she fell to the dirty grass floor. The demon quickly sprang to it's feet and bowed at her instantly with no hesitation. The young girl looked nothing like a demon, if anything else... she looked as though she was glowing. Her pale completion and her beauty made her appear if though she was an elf goddess rather than a demon. As she got back up onto her feet, she had an unamused expression across her face. Without a word, She disappeared into the trees tops above her. The demons was left feeling ashamed and started to prepare fire wood nearby so that they could protect the young girl. Up in the trees, she wrapped the cloak around her to protect her from the tree spikes and all the unwanted bitting bugs. She placed her hood back on and she stared into the distance.

 

OOT- @Kaede no need to worry about failure here, I think we can roll along with anything anyone throws at us.

Laura led the group around the outskirts of the town. A part of her almost went running towards a patrol she saw but she thought against it.
After seeing what this group did to the guards at the town, what chance does a small patrol like that stand?

"There's a patrol there. I don't think they're looking for you but just to be safe, we better wait for them to pass"
After a few minutes of waiting, Laura got up and turned to the group
"The priory is on the other side of those farmlands. It's abandoned now but there's no telling if there are more patrols. Let's sprint across it in one go, I hope you don't mind a midday run"
Without waiting for a reply Laura started her sprint across the old farm
"Come on!"

It was like old times when she was still a street urchin. Old man Thoma used to own this farm with his wife. She would always steal the fresh fruits and diary once a day. It was only much later when she realized they were letting her do so. Before her sisters, they were in a way, the only people she ever knew.
They're dead now. Struck in the middle of the night by a demon attack. I almost gave up that day, it hurt me so much more then I thought it would. They never really treated me as a thief... only as the starving child I really was. I overheard them talking about me once, they said I reminded them of their daughter. In a way...I wanted to get closer to them but never knew how.

It was the same day she met Sister Rita, she did the private funural service as no immediate kin was ever found. Everything else is history.
And here I am again, alone in the world and taking complete strangers to the places that meant the most to me.

They arrived at the priory during sunset.

"Well here we are. No one would bother us out here. Don't mind the graveyard, it's occupants were properly cremated. No zombies for us tonight"
Nightmares maybe, but reanimated zombie nuns? Laura didn't want to take any chances with the burials.

 

hhmm who ever lived here must not of been worried about how close they were to the forest* jakku looked at the sky * young priestess see that red glow in the distance that the demons land look how close the house is what does that tell you

 

The young girl watched as the sun slowly disappeared over the horizon. She watched as the birds started to settle in for the night... high up in the trees. Some weren't so lucky and were capture then tormented by her demon body guards before they ate them. They seem to be enjoyed by the birds screams but this disinterested the young girl. Suddenly, A little black raven landed on her hand. It didn't seem fazed at all by the young girl. So she stroked down it's back.
"Such as simple creature." The girl mumbled.

 

Dalton glanced towards Jakku before looking back to the priory, keeping his thoughts to himself.
"Tells me they must have been pretty desperate. Why else would they build in such a dangerous place? They must have known what they were getting into. What the risks were."
He pushed his thoughts to the back of his mind and carefully looked over the surrounding area. There were faint streaks of blood on the ground leading to and from the main building.
"They must have been inside when it happened. No blood stains around here big enough for that kind of massacre."
Having a basic idea of what took place, he then looked to the priestess and waited to hear what she had to say about all of this.

 

"This is...was... my home."

Laura told the group the story of the nuns of Yutra Priory
"We are a sort of branch of the main church you can find back in town. Around 15 years ago Sister Rita was a High Priestess. She disagreed with how the church was run. They sat behind the town's walls away from danger but she wanted a way to establish it's presence close to the forest. The idea was to build a sanctuary for travelers and adventurers that ventured the unexplored forests without any sort of support. Rita wanted to be that support. She really was a visionary in the ideas of pushing back against the darkness of the forests. She argued that since there would always be people brave enough to explore the forests, the church should use it's vast powers to assist those would be adventurers. Then maybe...someone could come back with something that tells us about it."

"They rejected it of course. They were more concerned with the issues closer to the town then the strange activities of the forests. Fed up with their inactivity, she took it upon herself to build this priory at the edge of the border. As a place of rest for weary travelers and adventures. Eventually it also became a place to train those in the ways of the staff and magic."

Laura picked up SIster Sonia's broken staff, she was looking for it but couldn't find it before. It was in the bushes near the doorway, it must have flown out the window above.

"And then...we were attacked. I wasn't at the priory at the time. When I came back all I saw were scorch marks and dead bodies. I buried them in those graves you see there."

She pointed at the grave on the small hill they passed
"I know what you are thinking... a place out here this close to the forest? The demons must have attacked them. I'm...I'm not so sure myself. My sisters were always prepared before going into battle. The idea that they were surprised by one of the evils from the forest just seems...impossible. In the early days, back when the priory first started, Sister Rita would tell us stories on how these shadow beasts used to harass the building project. They were repulsed every time. Eventually they got the picture and left us alone. We haven't had a major attack in eight years, before my time even here."

Laura opened the door to the priory. Although she did her best to clean up the large room, she couldn't return it to the state it was before. The blood dried on the stone and was impossible to scrub off. Half the dinner table was broken, the doorway to the kitchen was completely blown away, and the statue of St. Alicia, Sister Rita's favorite saint, was chipped on the face on the other end of the room.

"The large scorch marks are from Ingrid's fire magic I presume. She never did learn to condense the fireball into something smaller. The blood marks are all human. Whatever happened here we were the only casualties. The strangest thing was the bodies. I know you can't see it now but they weren't what I expected from a demon attack. They all died here in this room. Some of them were even dead in their chairs."

"And...and the bodies weren't even eaten up...L-like they were just k-killed for nothing and...the blood...it was everywhere..."

Laura lost feelings to her legs and dropped down to the cold stone floor
"S-sorry. I...I need to rest for a while. I'll be in my room upstairs. You can look around if you want, the library wasn't bothered. It's over there. Help yourself to the food in the kitchen, it's still fresh. Oh, and the training field is out in the back. I...I need some rest"

Laura weakly made her way to the second floor bedrooms.

 

Jakku pulled Dalton to the side *that sister hood worships the demons they thought that god created them to help people evolve to a higher state I know this place I was part of the force that took the sisters out they were trying to use some very powerful dark magic they were dead before we got here but what everyone was shocked by was a young girl in the middle of the room she had an elfish look to her it wasn't until later that we found out it was a summoning spell the house shouldn't be dangerous but we may want to keep an eye on the girl .

 

"Darkness has fallen once more." The girl mumbled as the sun was no where to be seen.
She continued stroking the Raven. With her left hand that was free, she clenched her fist, causing it to slowly bleed out. Her blood was different from normal humans. It wasn't the rich blood red colour you would expect to see. Instead, it was more of a reddish black colour. As the raven cawed, the young girl placed a few drops of her blood into its mouth. She chanted a few words under breath. The raven was silent for a little while before its eyes started to become vibrant red. It started cawing again with more of a deeper tone.
"There you go, you can take revenge on those humans." She stated coldly to the raven.

 

Neph trailed behind Dalton, Jakku, and Laura. He was mostly silent; until Laura led them to the monestary that she once resided. Due to him being behind everyone no one saw his smile. Walking past Jakku and Dalton he just saw Laura fall to the floor. And stand back up to get upstairs. Waving has hand to Jakku and Dalton he spoke as if he was commander of the troupe. "You guys go to the training yard, I'm going to inquire our friend as to what happened here. See what she can tell me."

He followed behind Laura and caught her at the stairs. He poked her on the back and helped her stand throwing her arm over his shoulder. And decided to help her up to the bedrooms. "What did you say your name was darling?" Neph either wasn't paying attention or didn't care to memorize what she said it was. Upon reaching the door to the second floor bedrooms he gently released her and placed her gently to sit on the bed.

"Look, Sweetie. I know it's gotta be hard; seeing all you love slaughtered. Even if you didn't see it first hand, now I know from experience what's it's like to lose something important." Neph pointed up to his missing eye, and waited for her to notice before continuing. "And I know it's going to be painful, but if you can provide any details I reckon I'd be able to help you find the sick son of a Bitch who did this to a sisterhood. Pardon my language but a death is deserved for this sort of abomination to God. And I know you may trust me least due to what you may have seen from me earlier. But I'm just a demon hunter looking to help those who can't help themselves."

Neph gave Laura a warm smile, Manipulation was something he was used too. Before Laura could say what was going on with the place he uttered something quickly.

"Listen here Luara, it could have been a demon who did this or a human demon hybrid. Now there hasn't been many recorded, but they do exist. I've had to put a few down. It's how I lost this here eye, at least one or my contracts made me lose an eye."

 

Laura was only half listening until something he said brought her awake immediately

"Wait! Half human...?"

The arrows! She discarded all but one of them. A reminder that whatever happened here was unnatural even for a demon
"There...there is one other thing I didn't mention. I wasn't sure how to bring this up but..."
Laura got up and went to her study desk. There she pulled out her drawer where she put the arrow bolt.
"I found this alongside a few other ones on the bodies and the floor. It wasn't from the town guards. I wasn't sure what to make of it...I'm not even sure if that was enough to kill them. It seems silly to think that arrows alone could kill all the sisters here. That's why maybe I thought there was a demon attack...but..."

Laura trailed off.
"A half demon? Maybe someone that killed using different methods? I didn't know they existed. It would make sense though...a demon disguised as a human. It would explain why everyone died in the same room. Maybe my sisters let their guard down."

"Here take the arrow bolt. It's not much to go on but it seems unique to me. Oh...! Uh..."
Suddenly the realization that a man was inside her room caused her to sputter
"Uhm...uhm...anyway, T-thanks for h-helping me up. I-I don't mean to sound rude but...can you leave my room? I want to change out of my clothes and into something a little more comfortable. Maybe we could talk more over dinner"
She averted her eyes from the one eyed man.

He doesn't seem too bad. I wish he would stop looking at me that way though. It's embarrassing...!

"Oh and what was your name? I'm Laura! Oh... I guess you already knew that."
