February is for Love 2016

So. Lemme tell you peeps about why you should vote for NicoMaki.

NicoMaki is a couple that developed slowly in the background of the idol anime, Love Live. Due to this, moments between them were pretty scarce in the first season, but got much more noticeable in season two, and even the movie.
Despite the fact that both of them have difficulty honestly expressing their true emotions (Maki being the classic tsundere, and Nico being more lowkey tsun with a whole lot of eccentric misdirection cover-up), they quickly begin to understand each other better than anyone else, and this feeds into that they know how to encourage each other by saying exactly what will motivate them.
Evidence is shown in this scene in season 1 (edited to meme), where Honoka is being such a shit, and Nico's about to go off at her, but before she can even make any indication of moving, Maki intuitively runs in and stops her from doing something she'd regret.

They're a good dose of reality for each other, and cut through each other's tsun-ness or pretentiousness, with neither taking the other's shit like the rest of the group does. They're able to be honest with each other because they can see through each others false images.

They show jealousy for each other. In season 2, Nico was spending some time away from the group, and Maki was worried that she got a boyfriend. And, in the movie, this.

I trust Ovyda's judgement....plus, I hate LL.

 

Yuu and Yuuno are childhood friend who

w each other because they lived at the same orphanage.


Yuuno was separated from Yuu when she was adopted by a family member. That family member ended up abusing her while they were living together.

Once Yuu found put he quit school with Yuuno and they moved out of town together.

afterwards, they moved back to town when Yuuno, family member came for her and convinced her to come back. The relative's house was set on fire and je dicided to stay in it as it burned.

Years later Yuu and Yuuno are stoll together and ended up adopting a little girl.

Unfortunately, on a fateful christmas day, Yuuno was struck by a truck and she died.


Years later Yuu is only the shadow of his past self, roaming around town doing nothing. Little does he know that Yuuno has not moved on either and is still on earth. And they are able to see each other one more time at the end of the series.

ill explain my reason for nominating Akio & Sanae Frurkawa.

I know they are not even the main couple of this story so it might look like an odd choice but here goes....

The reason I absolutely love this couple is not because they are head over heel's over each other or necessarily cute but because to me they represent what a real couple should be.

They are kind to each other and to others even when they endure hardships....

They help their sickly daughter with her problems and above all else put her needs first before their's and always try to make her happy.

They go out of their way to help a boy that desperately needs guidance and help to get his life together.

The entire reason they can accomplish all these feats as a couple is because they are truly a team and truly strong. They have seen hardship and yet despite all the issues they've face they still can find time to help others and be strong for each other like a real couple should be....

See to me a real couple is once you get pass the initial phase of blitz and get into some hardships and make things work..... in a sense if you look at it this way the Furukawa's had their far share of hardships.....


Anyways I don't know if I am making any sense and perhaps is because I am a parent now and that skew my views a bit but heck that is why I nominated them and i am sticking to it

Don't like either of them, but I think I dislike Clannad a bit more.

 

Haven't seen either anime, but @Cpt_K3nny 's reasoning sounds good. Haven't heard anything about the other couple yet.

well for the reason that they sacrificed their dreams for their only daughter. the captain pretty much said all there is of the couple.

 

I just feel like that stuff you described is much closer to "good parents" than "good couple".

Why can't the 2 go hand in hand? To me if you can be good parents while still being a great couple that's a great accomplishment! It takes hard work to make a relationship work.... It takes a lot more than that to raise a kid and make your relationship work...

But you do have a good point they are good parents thanks for pointing that out

Like I said maybe my view is skewed because I have seen the side of this type of relationship, Trying to be a good father while also trying to be a good husband. perhaps that's why i am leaning towards them as a couple since I can relate a bit... but that is just me dont hold it against me ok ?
