Extraordinary Regularity

Riley stared at Jessic and started to touch his face. "Hmm..." They pinched Jessic's cheeks and smiled. "I got it!" Riley took a step back and pointed at Jessic. "Your name is.... Jessica!"

 

Jessic burst into another bout of laughter. He laughed and laughed. "Do I look like a Jessica?" He asked, his body changing, growing more voluminous, more feminine in the body. "Well?"

 

"Is that so? Interesting..."
He continued looking at the girl impassively, belaying the fact that his mind was running a mile a minute.
It took a few minutes before he spoke again. And in a completely level voice he said,
"Strip. Naked or to your underwear, I'll leave to your discretion."

 

Maisie was falling asleep. There was a dumb anime snotbubble and everything. It felt like they had been standing here for days. Zzzzzzz...

 

Riley laughed. "It suits you!" They looked at Maisie. "Oh? It looks like our friend is bored." Riley picked up Maisie and threw her over their shoulder. "We had a park to get to. Of course, You're free to join us on our trip if you want, Jessica." They smirked.

 

Maisie slowly woke up, as her hat fell off of her head. Wait a minute... She sluggishly wiggled, trying to grab for her hat... "Wh-Wha'shh goin' on? I dinnae' remember this being any plan..." She struggled a little, grumbling.

 

Jessic smirked. "I'm Jessic. Not Jessica." Then he reverted back to his boyish frame. "You didn't guess enough.." He added to himself. He bent down and picked up Maisie's hat, putting it on his own head. "I'll join ya, if only to render the fact you have a bodyguard useless."

 

Maisie glared at Jessic... Grabbing for her hat. "Oi! That's mine, ya' wee shite! And get me down from here!" She continued to try and escape from these metal arms. She didn't think a good way to keep a friendship was blow of her friends arms, so... That wasn't happening.

 

"Well the park isn't far from here." They tightened their grip on Maisie. "Sorry Maisie, You just seemed so tired to walk I thought I'd be a good friend and carry you. Hohohoho." They started to walk in the direction of the park.

 

Maisie actually started to struggle, and kicked her legs about. "Alright, Alright! Put me down before you start crushing me!" She didn't want any broken bones, or you know, lose too much oxygen. She'd imagine Riley didn't feel much with their arms anymore.

 

Riley put Maisie down and laughed. "Awh, I wasn't gonna hurt you!" They patted Maisie on the head. "Look, the park is right up ahead. I'm sure you can manage to walk the rest of the way?"

 

She screwed up her face, folding her arms. "Hrrmmph. Just watch it. You cannae' be doin' that." She snatched her hat back from Jessic, fitting it on her head. "And you're coming with us." She pointed towards Jessic. "You cannae' deny. We've got to catch up too."

 

Jessic smirked, gracefully allowing Maisie her hat back, then he blinked and looked at Riley. "Yeah we do. But first I wanna do something with that guy, he did fail to correctly guess my name." Then his fingers were tapping against each other. "Ah! I know!"

 

If he was angered by her refusal, he didn't show it. He just sat there, his fingers steepled.
"I would like to remind you that I am the master of this house, and as such my word is sacrosanct. So, kindly remove your clothing. If you need any assurance, I have no intention of taking advantage of you. My interest for such frivolous activities waned lifetimes ago."

 

"Yeah yeah, whatever." Riley waved their hand. "Look we're already at the park so could ya save it?"

 

Matthew got up.
“Roy, you son of a bitch. How have you been?”
He followed after Roy, cricking his neck. “Jeez, I try to solve something and a hundred other things turn up! First we have to find my friends, though.”
They rounded a corner and the street was in absolute ruin like a bomb had gone off. Cars lay crumpled against walls like tin foil, fire hydrants rained down on everyone, and although no-one had been injured thankfully there was a terrible cacophony of people shouting, car alarms and the gushing of water. And standing in the middle of the crater, completely bone dry, was Logan.
“Well...” Matthew said wearily. “Not exactly hard to spot in a crowd, huh?”

The voices started leading Kitty back towards the street, out of the alley. From there, they led to the entrance to the park, where two figures were walking through.

“Oh, our brave rescuer finally woke up,” Sistine commented, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Is this the part where I faint into your arms?”
“Don't think she's into that, luv,” Rid said as he leaned against a tree, looking down at her. “Though if she is, bagsy watching.”
“I'll film it,” Nom gurgled as he licked his lips with his colossal tongue. “How come you went down so easy then?” His tongue slithered in and out of the air, tasting it like a snake. “You've been spiking yourself, huh?”
Ri looked over at P.R. “Oi, mate. Doctor.”
P.R started, then got to his feet and gave Hema a complete medical examination. After various reactionary tests, he turned to Rid and spoke in a kind, official tone. “She'll be fine after an hour's rest.”
“Oh good. Another nap.” Rid slid down to the tree trunk and closed his eyes. “Sistine, it's your turn to babysit Alice and Murderbird.”
Sistine made a sound of unmitigated disgust, but she looked over at the girl and the phoenix creature that appeared to be protecting her. “Fine... but if you ask me, I have more important things to do.”
“Oh, can it,” Rid said irritably. “So, period-lady – why'd you come rescue us?”

 

"I've been well, old friend. It's been quite a while. I guess I should tell you why I'm back. Recently there has been a high energy of demons back here. I heard a rumor that Penton was alive, which is impossible. I remember blowing that bastards legs off and Michael finished him off. So, I have to ask you, since you were in his office. Did you see Lucius?" He paused for a moment, As he needed to gather his words.

"I heard an intercom go off from outside. What it was saying was inaudible. I know you don't have a visual ID on the person. But it could be Ryker, he vanished post Penton's death. You see I'm uncertain how familiar you are with the war of the gods that broke out here about a year ago. The damage was surprisingly contained. But overall some of the city is uninhabitable. Penton's building was built back up quickly due to a 40 million dollar payment from Penton's associate. Ryker is dangerous now, he lost everyone he loved and cared for, and holds their souls in his body. He is sort of a legion. But he isn't holding in demons."

He saw the small scale destruction in front of him that Logan seemed to have made. He gave a wry smile and moved his long black hair from his face. "Well, Logan. It's been a while. You sure know how to make an entrance if I do say so myself." He continued to walk past Logan and expected to have Matt follow him.

"So, The reason I want to see if the news is true, there is an alleged 400 year old knight in the park, You see, I found an old book in one of my trips to London, it was buried beneath an old, shabby, and debris filled library it was abandoned. And it held told the story of one of the knights involved in the slaying of 30 dragons. They never mentioned his name as he died an alleged traitor. But it seemed fishy. One of the many kings of England at the time, Athalos I think his name was, or something along those lines. He had the orders. The other knight involved had pretty unfortunate nicknames but I figured out his name was Hettem, that's really all I want to figure out if it's really him. I will be able to tell by his armor. They drew it out pretty well. So it would be pretty noticeable."

Roy, Logan, and Matthew all made it to the park together, and there eyes beheld Eldrich, the legendary knight. His armor was multiple colors, red from the blood, green, blue, orange, white, beneath the plate was typical chain mail. The most noteable feature about the armor was that it was scaled. Roy knew who he was looking at so did Vincent. They spoke through the soul. "I can't believe it, it's him."
"Shall we engage him in battle, I don't read any negative vibes from him, but he is undead, a Revenant, he is an abomination"
"Vincent, he had a family and friends, he protected strangers from Dragons and beasts in general. He was also a freelancing knight. He would be a great friend and great ally. Though he would say the same about us, he doesn't know much about us, but we're pretty powerful together."
"As you say, Roy. Just remember, If he turns out to be wicked. It is your fault. You chose to let him go."
"Noted, But my senses have never failed us, neither have yours. But I understand you're skeptical. It does however, look like he is grieving, none of us should engage him right now, he seems to be getting overwhelmed by a family, and Bravado and his boys."

He spoke out loud to Matt and Logan again. "So, What do you guys think? The legendary dragon slayer standing before us 400 years later. He was brought back for a reason. But for what reason, I haven't a clue. We could all speculate. But last I heard dragons were extinct about 5 years after his execution."
