Experimentals

They were on the outskirts of town hiding in a thicket of bushes.
"What do we do now?"
"Well if everyone is ok with revenge on the labs I might have a plan."
They all looked at Felix. Then Locks thought for a second and it clicked. Felix had worked at the lab meaning that he might be able to lead us to a weak spot.
"I'm good for it."
"I'm ok with what ever you decide."
"Felix where are we going to attack them."
"Well there was a section in the labs where most of our power is generated. Most of the set up is powered by one massive reactor. If that thing blows it'll destroy everything. Of course this isn't permanent it will take them a week to rebuild. But hopefully it stirs up some trouble."
"That sounds like a great plan."
"There's a flaw though. That plan is a one way trip."
The air froze. The conversation was blanketed in silence. Everyone voice was gone.
"You.... mean......"
"We would die."
"Why would you even suggest that!"
"There's one other thing though."
"Haven't you noticed that since you were captured by the labs and broke out you powers are stronger."
They nodded.
"According to the records you were injected with an experimental power boosting drug. Thing is that its eating your cells from the inside out. Your going to die."
Jess began to cry.
"I'm in lets go out with a bang."
"I've always wanted to do something like this."
"I've been in since the start."
Jess simply nodded wiping the tears from her eyes.
"You guys have about 1 week before organ failure. So we need to act fast. Were leaving tomorrow morning."

 

OOT: Gotta love when RL is a pain in the ass...

“Well, if you can somehow get me out of this ice, then I can get us away from here rather easily. I know Claus is nearby, I think he may want to know what happened to me as well, so I figure that we may as well inform him. My next move is to get to the center of the city, and do some information hacking. I don’t know what the others are up to, and I really don’t care at this point. By the way Martin, I assume you probably have an ability? Since you are helping me out, I figure I’ll let you know about mine. I can control metal, and my right arm morphs into metal when it comes in contact with it.”

 

Stalk decided not to mention that he already knew about Zach's ability.
"Cool. If it's quite alright, mine is not the kind of ability you use lightly, so I'd rather keep mum about it. Fortunately, whilst my abilities are not exactly useful for freeing you from an ice block, I have a splendid alternative!"
Three minutes later he dropped the crowbar, panting. "There... you... go... you're... *koff* welcome..."
He straightened up. "Oy... I think they have plans to leave. So if you want to convince them of your innocence, time is of the essence..."
If they leave again, I'll lose my ticket to Leah!

 

Zed wakes up in the prison. He gets up and looks around the prison and sees he Ashley.
"So still the same dream, and your still here."
Ashley tilts her head.
"Do you not like me being here?"
*Sigh* "No, its just I know who you are now."
Ashley straightens her head.
"So my husband did tell you about me."
She looks at Zeds hands and sees his left index finger is missing.
"Your finger."
"A trade, that your husband made while I was in this cell."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
The two sat there, silently. After awhile they could hear someone screaming out a name.
"Brother!"
Zeds head straightens, he looks around the cell.
"Who was that?"
Ashley smiles.
"Do you want know?"
*Gulp* "Yes."
"Well you have to remember then."
"First I have to say her name and maybe you will remember."
"Just say it already."
Ashley starts to giggle.
"Its been buried, somewhere in your brain."
"The girls name is Leah."
Zeds eyes widen.
"Leah."
After saying the name, his head started to hurt. Two different places started to appear in front of him.
"Have fun teleporting."
"What do you mean!?"
"Your remembering something from the past, while your dreaming. You will be teleporting a lot now."
The pain in his head started to hurt badly, he had a feeling that he was about to hurl. Zed closes his eyes and starts screaming.

 

The sun rose and everyone woke.
"Ready guys?"
"Like anyone is ever prepared to die."
"Haha guess your right man. Lets move."
Felix touched hied and she grew in size. They all climbed on and flew directly to the power station. Locks and Jet jumped off early on and began to take out the guards with ease. They broke into the building almost too easily. Locks thought to himself. Nothing this important would be this unguarded.
With this thought a man dropped down from the rafters. He was surrounded in smog. The ground around him seemed to rust away and the wood rotted.
"Welcome. Now its your time to die."
Locks launched a volley of chain towards him but they instantly rusted and blew away in the wind. Every material that touched the smog decayed and broke down. He had locks cornered and jet was still fending off the remaining guards. Just as the knife the man held was about to run across Locks throat Dirge slammed into the man covered in armor. Felix and Jess had just landed inside.
"You three go! His power wont work on living things. I have this fight Jess knows where to go she can lead you."
The three of them ran ahead and left Felix to deal with the man.
"Dammit dammit DAMMIT!"
He stomped the ground and pulled out several syringes filled with a drug.
"Is that..?"
"You bet it is and it will help me destroy you."
"But that amount will kill you in a matter of 10 minutes."
"That's all I'll need."
The man charged at Felix and punched the air. His hand turned into smog and enveloped the area. Felix's skin burned. His lungs dried out. He felt every ounce of life being drained out of him. His skin began to turn a sickly green. Felix used all his power to lunge at the man. He grabbed one of the left over syringes and injected himself. Evening the playing field meant ending his life but he knew this was how it would end. Felix touched his own arm and it became a long spear like claw. with all his might he bashed in the mans head. As the man took in his final breathes Felix fainted. The drug had overcome him and he died there on the floor. Released of his control the animals left. The man exploded into smog and the building rusted and collapsed sealing Locks and the others on the lower floor. It was up to them now.

 

OOT: Firstly I would like to apoligze for my absence in posting, been having some shit days at work and couldn't really get motavated to do a lengthly post. Secondly hopefully this post I'll try to get my self untangled from everyones story lines so should work catch me like this again I'm not holding anyone up. Now to the post!

"We will see you all shortly..."
At this comment Atlas turned to me and nodded, seems he was done stalling he head over to the old center of the room where myself and Kuro were waiting to leave
"Okay lad we can have a big fire or a small slow burner but we need this place gone"
I had thought for a bit, should i really get rid of the place? I mean thanks to having Kuro's teleporting and the ship we stripped this place hallow of everything. Is in necessary to burn it, wouldn't that just draw more attention to us? I finally speak
"No.... having a fire break out while everyone is still jumpy could lead to problems. Not to mention the district is still closed. Also Atlas Why did we keep the boat if we aren't coming back here?"
Atlas face had a huge grin on it as he scratched his check
"Ah i see you caught in on to that one ay lad? Yes I do plan on returning, just have to wait till they think we are gone for good. Couple weeks maybe months then well be back"
So we are coming back, good.. think i would miss this place

After our quick talk Kuro move us to the boat, and everyone took up their posts: Atlas was at the head of the wheel like an idiot, Echo Kuro and Miko were in the center. Miko was charging up while Echo was seeing out a small pulse, each time you could see the air shake a bit. Frost and I are at the afte of the ship, she had Frozen my hands into a cannon like shape as to direct my flame into a jet giving us more boost according to Echo. When all was ready Atlas and Echo spoke
"Alright once we get going no one stop what they are doing"
"If even one of give out all will most likely die, so yeah you know..."
"Everyone Ready? Go Kuro!"
A second after saying that our scenery changed, from a dock just by the house to a one sky. And then the fall happened, the ship started to decent back down to the group as it slowly drifted from my feet, we were falling. I glance over to see Kuro who looks exhausted after just the first move but then I see Miko putting here hand on Kuro shoulder. Another second our scenery changes, and again. I am amazed we really are moving like this. I then feel a slap across the face, it was from Frost. Shit i was so caught up and what just happened i Forgot to me using my power. I send all i have as far as power to try and act as a booster. The teleporting starts to pick up as well. Huh, oh i see now... Kuro and Miko were having trouble getting a 'lock' on us as we are falling, by boosting i managed to buy them a few seconds so everything is happening faster.

Meanwhile down in the city, a few citizens looking up caught a glimpse of something rather strange, It looked like a ship! but when they went to take as second look or tell a friend the ship was gone. Some took it as just their imagination, others where sure of it but people thought them crazy as they didn;t see or think a ship would or could fly

After what seemed like a few seconds we appeared in a close building, It looked like a Foundry.
"Ah~ we are here" Kuro said exhausted
"HAhaha! Good work GAUHA!" Atlas was interrupted by the sound of him getting hit by a icespike, Electric bolt, Fireball, SoundBlast and a teleported piece of metal all at once.
"Okay.... easy guys..... was just a joke. If i wasn't super strong that would have killed me you know"
"Too bad"
"Right"
"Anyways we at the Foundry, Miko?"
"Yep our little workshop in this district"
Seems like this is their base
"Soooo, where do we sleep? I don't know about you but I'm pretty tired about now"
I say seriously asking a question.
"Huh oh we sleep in the house! this is just where we work as our cover for the group, However..."
Miko paused
"Seems we will be short on rooms, seeing as there will be 8 of us"
8? Frost, Me, Atlas, Echo, Leah, Miko and Kuro.... so there must be one more member still at the house
"Also sis seems we will need to have everyone share a room, seeing as we only have 4 bedrooms. I guess i f i have to I'll sleep with you Sis~"
"ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!!!!!"
"BUT SIS~"
"Ahem, If it makes things easier....... I can....room with Miko...."
Kuro's expression drops at Echo's statement
"What are you talking about......besides shouldn't you be roomed with Atlas"
Echo face grew dark at the mention of sharing a room with Atlas
"You do realize he takes up an entire bed by himself right. Besides This way Leah can have a female roommate of Kuro. We also have 4 beds so with the 4 you have everyone will have their own bed"
For some reason a small sign of sadness entered Miko's eyes. Thinking for a second I speak up
"Shouldn't we just let Leah chose a roommate and go from there? After all it's easy enough for us to live put up with our own little groups"

 

"ARRRRGGGHHHH!"
"GET OUT OF MY HEAD!"
The voices in Zeds head, start to scream.
"Open your eyes!"
Zed opens, he sees himself walking with a girl. The two of them chatting to each other as they walk.
"A memory."
The voices still in Zeds head, but they stop screaming. Zed blink, now his seeing the view from past Zed.
"Was I always this small?"
Zed looks at the girl.
"Brother, you are doing well in your studies."
"Eh? What you mean, of course I am!"
"Oh, I don't know."
Zed starts to twitch
"Honest I am."
"Wait who is this girl?"
Zed tilts his head
"So Leah, what about you?"
Zeds heart starts to beat faster. 'Wait what, this girl is Leah!? She's my sister!?'
"I'm doing fine, als-"
The noise of a van drifting cuts of Leah. A group of men lab coats surround Zed and Leah. Leah hides behind Zed.
"I guess not your friends?"
Leah tugs on Zed arm sleeve.
"Of course not."
"You will hand over the girl!"
Zed chuckles
"Hell no!"
"Fine then, we shall take her by force."
The lab coats engaged one by one, Zed take them down. More of them kept coming, Zed keeps up the pace taking them down one by one.
"Your too weak."
"I'm not!"
Zed keeps up the fight, but the lab coats overwhelm him, Zed falls onto the ground, wounded and exhausted. The lab coats grab hold onto Leah, Zed losing conscious hears Leah screaming out.
"BROTHER! BROTHER! _______!"
Zed falls unconscious. Zed still dreaming starts to pant.
"So that happened I remember that, but how the hell did I get to the labs."
Zed starts to hear the voices scream.
"No scrap that, I have to wake up."
"I don't want to remember any more!"
"Let me wake up!"

 

They could here the crashing from behind.
"Locks...."
"I know we need to keep moving. We knew what would happen if we came here."
They ran down flight after flight of stairs. Finally they reached the basement and were greeted by a large group of guards and freakish animals. They looked like dogs but they had been changed. They had fangs the size of a saber tooth tiger, claws like an eagle, and were as large as a bear. Groups of them charged at them. Locks began to choke them with chains and Jess cover. Jet began to fight. The room erupted into a hurricane of wind throwing the dogs and guards into wall after wall. Guards died on impact but the dogs continued to stand up. Every time Locks decapitated them with a sharp chain they grew a new head. Jet launched a spear of wind straight into the heart of the dogs and it fell over and died.
"I found their weak spot! Aim for the heart!"
Locks and Jet were back to back fending of the seemingly endless stream of animals. Carcasses were piling up fast. A dog grabbed locks and threw him across the room. As locks stood over he saw Jet surrounded. He couldn't fight like that for much longer. The room erupted into a tornado throwing debris everywhere. They pierced into the dogs killing almost all of them. Jet was ready to collapse he used almost all of his strength in that fight. Just then a dog pounced from behind knocking him down. It mouth enclosed is head and blood spurted everywhere. as the best lifted his head he swallowed. Jet was lying there decapitated his head consumed by the beast. The beast began to gorge on the corpse of jet devouring him. This image burned into Locks mind. Everything was so clear and vivid. The warm blood. The crunch of bones. The tearing of muscle. His only friend left was dead.
"JET!"
Chains ripped the beast of part. He grabbed Jess with tears in his eyes he ran forward. Just ran. They reached the bottom level. A giant sphere stood in front of him. An eerie green glow emitted from its core. He readied chains to fire into the sphere. Just then Jess screamed. He turned to see something he never could of anticipated. Jess was there with a gun to her head. The gun. Was held by her dad.

 

OOT: Heeeyyy, guess who's back?

Claus pondered the situation as he made his way to the room where Zach was being kept.
"Keep an eye on him...? But why would I need to do that if they're already interrogating him? That doesn't make any sense at all..."
Then a realization hit him. He knew that Zach was being interrogated, but he was never specifically told that it was someone from their group. He quickened his pace, though he was careful to keep his footsteps as quiet as possible.
"Idiots! Did they let an intruder in without even realizing it?!"
Thinking this to himself and assuming that the worse could very well be yet to come, he took out his pistol and chambered his first round.

When he was right outside the room, he leaned against a nearby wall and listened carefully. He thought he could hear Zach's voice, and it didn't sound panicked or threatened in the least, although he couldn't make out what they were saying.
"At the very least, it seems our uninvited guest isn't hostile at the moment."
Feeling assured that the situation was at least somewhat secure and confident that he could draw it again if he needed it, Claus puts his pistol away in his vest and casually walks into the room. He looks at Zach and raises an eyebrow.
"Zach...if you don't mind my saying so, you're looking a little worse for wear. Would you mind introducing me to your new friend here?"
He looks over to the unfamiliar man with a glint of suspicion in his eyes.
"I don't believe we've met before. My name is Claus, and you are...?"

 

"I KILLED YOU BACK AT THE LABS!"
"You really think I would of gone near you? You could of killed in an instant."
He tightened his grip on Jess tapping the trigger on the gun with his index finger. Sweat beaded on Locks forehead. He was nervous. Everyone but him and Jess were dead. He didn't want to lose anyone else.
"Let her g.........."
*Bang
Time slowed to a stop. The world seemed like a nothing more than a still picture. This wasn't real it couldn't of been. Right about now he would wake up in his computer chair back home. But it sunk in. It was real. Felix was dead Jet was dead. And now Jess. He couldn't even think straight. He looked straight at the doctor. The doctor dropped Jess' limp body onto the floor letting her blood pour out from her head. Locks charged full of pure unbridled rage. Just as he was about to hack the doctors head clean off he hit a wall of strange static. The chains around him dropped to the ground just as limp and lifeless as Jess. Locks fell to the ground energy sapped from him. Everything went completely dark. He woke surrounded by tubes an machines. It was just like his first day at the labs. But one difference. He wasn't tied down. He couldn't use his power the static was still preventing it. Just then the door opened and the doctor walked in. But instead of attacking him Locks just sat down.
"Perfect it worked."
"..."
"Did you think we let you go twice? No everything from when you first escaped the labs up until now was planned. Of course we didn't expect you to fall in with that resistance lot but it all worked out in the end."
"...."
"What did you think anyone actually cared about? Felix wasn't your cousin, Jet wasn't your friend. And Jess didn't love you. They were all just orphans or cons. We picked them up planted false memories and used them like chess pieces."
"...."
"Jess wasn't even my daughter it was all part of the show. And now your perfect."
"...."
"We just put you through so much emotional trauma yet your not angry at me. We killed those you cared for though you could care less. Doesn't that make you question anything at all. We put you through a series of specific events and slowly administered different chemicals to you. We had Jess use chemicals when she patched you up. We pumped you full on your visit to the labs. We even had Jet sneak it into your food."
The room went silent.
"We took away your emotions. Every single one. Your just like me and some of the other head doctors. Welcome to the labs Locks."
OOT:I guarantee no one saw this coming. BAM!!!

 

There was a pause.
"You may call me Stalk. Pleased to meet you." Stalk sounded anything but. "Are you his waitress or his jailer? If so, I have to complain about the quality of our living standards. Also, a coffee wouldn't go amiss, no milk two sugars, there's a good girl."

You even went so far to make sure that Leonard didn't read the memory of the real Jess. Jet wasn't in the right state of mind when I found him so it's unlikely he would have tipped me off either. Not bad.

 

OOT: @Doomguy I have my moments. Ive had this planned for a few weeks now so i had to be cautious or the story would of fell apart

Claus let out a heavy sigh.
"A comedian, how wonderful. If I had to make a list of the most obnoxious, unpleasant and time-consuming personalities to deal with, your kind would easily be on the top of that list."
He took a few steps forward and gave Stalk a cold glare.
"What business do you have here? If you could bring it to a close as soon as possible, it would be most appreciated. I'm not a jailor, a waiter, or anything of the sort but I do have some business to attend to with out mutual acquaintance, Zach."

 

"Where are the other members of your group? I hope they're not sipping champagne and nibbling caviar at our expense," Stalk said dryly.

A stone scattered the sand near Leah's feet. Then another, and another. To her right, hiding amidst the rocks, the shape that was throwing them ducked down out of sight but not before she saw them.

 

"Nearby, last I checked. Although I can't help but wonder if the situation has changed since then. While I was on my way here, I could have sworn that I heard a strange noise coming from nearby. And now that you mention it...I find it strange that we haven't heard from them in quite some time."
Claus raised an eyebrow, looking at Stalk suspiciously.
"What does it matter to you?"

 

“Guys, as much as I like to see you bicker, I think we have a bigger issue at hand. I’m not even sure if they are here anymore, which means that something is happening. Only one way to find out.” Zach said

Zach went out of the warehouse, and into the main area. It looked completely deserted, as if the others had left. He wasn’t sure how this happened, but they had indeed left.

“That’s just great. Yep, looks like they left. Well, the next best thing we can do is to leave as well. I think that getting to one of the information centers would really help us out. Hell, I still barely know much about this city. Although at this point, we need to be careful, because without the rest of the group, we will be easy targets for any of the hunters.”

Zach turned to Claus “Try not to be at each other’s throats, the last thing we need is more tension. You and Stalk should try to get along, so that we can manage to survive.” Zach then turned to Stalk “Do you know your way around this city at all? Information gathering is one of my specialties, and if we can get to either a police station or city center, then getting more information will be easy.” Zach said. He was trying to keep a calm and level headed demeanor, but in reality, he missed Leah so much that it almost hurt. Don’t worry, you’ll find her. Then I can try to mend things with her
