Current and Upcoming AVI/Sig Themes

For this weeks theme I decided I'd go with Red from the amazing series Hell Girl, he is one of Ai Enma's 3 servants. As for what he is, it is kind of a spoiler since it wasn't said until the 2nd season [episode 17] which was never dubbed, so heres a video to explain it

@bk-201, I knew you were going to go with her since Mafia told me what theme was coming up a few days ago. I was tempted to use her myself but I prefer to use male avatars and thought that if anyone else deserved to use her as an avatar it'd be you.

This week is the shounen theme huh, well okay then, too bad I can't keep using Ren as I liked that avatar.

For this theme I decided I'd go for more of an unorthodox shounen series character because screw mainstream characters. So I went with the bad arse Fukuda from Bakuman, he may not look it but he is passionate, hot tempered and he drives a motorbike.

 

I did expect it but I call that cheating @mafiacow, sure it is a sports themed episode in a slice of life but I think using an image like that is the bitches way out. There is a whole bunch of sports anime out there and instead of looking for one you choose your favourite show again, use some other franchises for a change, the sports genre is one of the most overlooked genres outside of Japan I'd believe. Despite hating most sports I've managed to enjoy basically everyone I've watched so far, branch out a bit and watch a few.
By the way that gif is just another reminder of why I dislike the company behind that show as well.

Okay for this theme I'm thinking I will go with Kuroko no Basket's Kise, I just need to find a good image of him if I'm going to replace this one of Fukuda, it has to be much better.

 

I know nothing was said about it needing to be a sports anime but it still seems like the bitch way out of this theme.

2 is too many after watching the complete series, still not going back to the movie or shorts.

I don't know any about cricket, so I searched MAL's entire sports database and I can now say that there are no cricket anime. I'm not sure if the Japanese even play cricket, but I do know baseball is what is big over there.
From my research sports anime mostly consist of baseball, boxing, basketball, tennis and soccer.
Then there are ones that are less prominent ones such as car racing, cycling, table tennis, kendo, judo, sumo wrestling, wrestling, volleyball, swimming and football.
Then the even lesser known ones that even I had no idea about being golf, boat racing, gymnastics and track and field
Of course Air Gear also counts as a sports anime for some reason so I guess that means roller-skating, and then stuff such as Beyblades is also listed for whatever reason. So no cricket anime just yet, perhaps one of these others could interest you.

 

Sports anime are better than just regular old sport for people like us, there is all the drama, comedy, and whatever other themes that make you like other series so they are easy to follow even with limited knowledge, especially since they typically explain what is needed. Its also interesting that there is a fishing anime but no cricket.

Hahaha it is also amusing that I am the only person so far using an avatar from an actual sports anime yet mine doesn't have the sport they are from. Like I said I would, I'm using Kise from Kuroko no Basket, he is one of the generation of miracles and a model. Said to be the weakest one of them, he has more of a personality than the other 4 [as far as I care at least].

 

Haha a dead haruhi, now thats something that has potential to make that show more interesting. I'd like to see what did that to her, this definitely needs to happen as thats the only way you'd get me to watch any more of that franchise Mafia.

Anyway for this theme I've gone with Kamui from Gintama. A member of one of the universes strongest races that lives to fight. Although he hasn't received too much screen time I find him to be bad arse, especially in this picture in which he's been impaled by numerous arrows yet still smiles and continues to fight.

 

Yeah Mafia I never said I liked it, re read my post I said it had potential. I still hate haruhi though nothing is going to change that, so every image she is in is immediately ruined.
And I'm still thinking she is dead or at least has been attacked, she has some scratches on her cheek and that blood on her forehead is awfully high above the fringe. I don't care what amount of splatter you'd get, with a fringe like that its not going to be getting through.
