bilibili's booth at AnimeJapan 2017 announced on Saturday that Patrick Macias and Mugi Tanaka's webcomic PARK Harajuku: Crisis Team!, which runs on Crunchyroll, will inspire an original anime titled Urahara. The project's website states that Crunchyroll and "top Japanese creators" are partnering to create the anime.

Crunchyroll describes the story of PARK Harajuku: Crisis Team!:
Several years from now, the great cities of the world will be destroyed by creatures from another planet. Their next target is…Tokyo's famed Harajuku district! Only a trio of treasure-seeking shop girls can hope to save the day. But first, do they have what it takes to become members of the PARK Harajuku: Crisis Team?

Crunchyroll began serializing the webcomic, along with character biographies and other bonus materials, on its website in May 2015. The webcomic features characters that Tanaka designed as mascot characters for the PARK Harajuku retail store. Crunchyroll News and Otaku USA magazine editor-in-chief Macias collaborated to create the webcomic's story.
