Movie theaters propped up over the world showing black and white films of magic girls fighting evil boat mice on a steamboat. Walt Disney would later use this as a character (the mouse, not the magical girl)

In the year 1937,

Poland invades Germany before WWII breaks out due to time traveling scientists from the future. Unfortunately this would start Anime World War I between president Walt Disney of America and a time traveling Oda Nobunaga of Japan.

 

1938, Nazi forces march on and occupy Austria.  Austria is proclaimed a province of the Third Reich.

 

1939

 

In the year 1940,

France invades Mexico and Mexico surrenders in two weeks due to blitzkrieg tactics. Meanwhile China bombs Pearl Harbor and commences D-day operations in Japan.

And uh... Russian winter halts Swedish Napoleon at Stalingrad. No wait... maybe that was another year.

 

1941.  Japan launches an attack on the U.S. Naval base, Pearl Harbor.  The next day the U.S. declares war on Japan.  Germany and Italy declare war on the U.S., the U.S. reciprocates the same day.  First offensive movements between U.S. and Axis forces occurs.
