    I concur.. :3

Personally, I really like both of them. They're great. But I didn't really care too much for the 2nd half of Death Note, I feel like it sort of died down. Code Geass, on the other hand, was very well executed and had a lot to offer through out.

The age old question and one that I could never answer the same way twice. I gave them both a 10 so that's it, no more hurting my head thinking about them :)

I love light, but I love Lelouch more due to his ability to NOT rely on his power to get everything done. His power was MUCH more limited and did SO much more.

well they both have the supernatural on their side. we cant say the other used less or the opposite. one thing i can say is that made geass over deathnote is that lelouch didnt lose his way and think of himself as a god.

I could not stand death note and here's why:The dynamic changed the second he wrote the first name in the note yet the story did not. L's story is also a turnoff for me as well. He was from decent family with a good moral compass but somehow makes the jump to being a "Hitler like" genocidal madman. Code Geass hands down.

Ha this was exactly why I love to hate Light Yagumi! He's not a protagonist, he's a goddamned loon who has lost all sense of humanity. Imo watching him spiral into a complete and utter megalomaniac with no redeeming features was an incredibly guilty pleasure.

Lelouch was somewhat better I suppose but I felt he kept being held back by his little sister and friends. I guess he would be a somewhat "gray" character whose methods were arguably wrong but he had a decent goal in mind at least and held up his side of the bargain.

As I said before, I liked both almost equally.

Honestly, I enjoyed both animes as most of you did. Its been a while since I've seen CG, but from what I can remember.. Code Geass was 'better anime' than Death Note, in my opinion. The overall appeal of Death Note was awesome to me. We are in the mind of Light who I sympathized for and cheered on. Until he went coo-coo for coco puffs and lost his marbles. That wasn't the losing factor, but I felt more of a connection with Lelouch i think over the course of the anime instead of losing connection.

Regardless both are great stories, which would probably be better in the manga.
This thread has sparked my interest into rewatch CG again. :3 (its been a few years)

That's what makes it more human. Mental health is not as simple as you think. Just because you come from a sheltered life, doesn't mean you will act "normal" like other people.

Also, I just watched the first episode of Code Geass. And then this happens:

Lelouch is a magical girl!?!? Really!?!? He signs a contract to become a magical girl!?!? OK I know Light makes a deal with the Shinigami. But, at least Light has more of a motive than Lelouch. Lelouch seems to be more narrow-minded.

Also, the voice acting in Death Note is a lot better than Code Geass. I really do not like Lelouch's voice actor. I don't care if it is Jonny Yong Bosch. I did not like the voice at all...

@VeritasOdiumParit Give the anime some time to clarify its universe.
And I watched it subbed, so I wouldn't know, but I guess you'll get used to it pretty quickly.

Light is a coca cola light and lelouch is a coca cola zero...
    XD

I think these two anime are amazing. Personally, I prefer Death Note over Code Geass but in the long run, they pretty much have the same type of storyline just different setting and of course, different characters.

@Negi-Springfield I did enjoy Code Geass, but personally I still think Death Note is better in terms of a story, etc.

Thanks for answering eight months later lol :)

Anywho, I personally think the second half of death note is really bad and I've rewatched the series a few times, but I think I always drop it within ten episodes passed the half mark.

But I never tried to rewatch code geass, so I can't really judge the two anime's second halves impartially.

I've been a busy man. Ha ha! Yeah, I still think Death Note had a better ending. Code Geass had a weird ending...

I really have fuzzy memories of the second half, but it was weird, at least Death Note's made sense.
    something something Rollo and V
Something something Rollo dies for lelouch
Something something crazy parents and using his geass on a God.
    Something something Suzaku killing him.
And Kallen saying it was part of Lelouch's plan.
