Depends on the genre I suppose..
for Comedy, either Ouran High School Host Club or Devil is a Part-Timer xD

I would say Pokemon, Digimon, Shinzo, Hikaru no Go, and Cardcaptor Sakura (because they were some of the first ones I've actually taken a keen interest in, as well as being a part of my childhood, so they were the most notable.) :p
Oops, almost forgot Fruits Basket and Naruto lol

for me the best anime is trigun. i say this because it was the first anime i ever watched all the way through. i watched DBZ before trigun but never in order or the complete series. and for me it set tbe tone for the type of animes i have enjoyed since. i do believe that there is no such thing as "best anime" because we all like different types and as we get older our tastes will change. but for me i enjoy watching trigun, i have watched it multiple times and every time it draws me in like its the first time watching. i believe if a anime does that, then you would consider it the best/favorite.

If I had to name one off the bat, it'd be Madoka Magica. Minus Rebellion there wasn't a single bad thing about it in my opinion.

But if I had to include Rebellion, then it'd probably be a toss-up between Clannad, Psycho-Pass, Higurashi, and Fate/Zero

Will now rate Cowboy Bebop as my favorite sci-fi anime. I love everything about it, especially the amazing directional ability of Shinichiro Watanabe and the exceptional soundtrack courtesy of the great Yoko Kanno.

There's a lot of great animes, so its very hard to decide. Overall my favorites are kill la kill and steins gate. Then its a tie between sword art online, haruhi suzumiya, gurren lagann, akame ga kill, beelzebub and k-on.

Goodness. Well If I had to pick a best anime I would have to say its a toss up between Berserk and FMAB .

Berserk because I saw it before I even considered reading the manga . I was so invested in the characters emotionally and then it all goes to heck in the end and it ripped my heart out and stomped all over it with golf shoes. It was a serious emotional experience.

FMAB Had me totally wrapped up in it as well . I was just amazing story telling. Way better than the first FMA they came out with.

Now if I had to pick my favorite hands down would be Hellsing Ultimate. Because ... Reasons.

I find this a difficult question. Mainly because I've been watching anime so long that it's hard to remember what was actually good - Watching anime growing up I would just watch anything and everything I could get my hands on because I loved it all. I've found as I've gotten older I'm finding real differences in the quality of animes we see, some are really simple and others are so complex and there aren't all that many that manage to achieve it all. But there are a massive amount that are amazing in their own ways.

I actually just watched yesterday an anime movie called Redline and i found it amazingly good. I've never been into the animes featuring cars, but I gave it a go and I was pretty surprised in the depth and quality of the story.

    Few more I've thoroughly enjoyed over the years;

    Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
    Puella Magi Madoka Magica
    Last Exile
    Neon Genesis Evangelion
    Akira
    Ouran Host High School
    Anything Studio Ghibli
    Trigun
    Cowboy Bebop
    Gurren Lagann

I could keep going. But I'll leave it at that for now.
