Trinity heard a voice speaking to her. It echoed through her dream
"Just don't make any sudden moves, alright? I'll--" then it was silent for a moment, which followed by "I'll keep you safe," ....The voice sounded familiar, what did they mean by keep her safe. She felt like she was wrapped in someones arms, it was warm and cozy. She let out a little purr and slowly started opening her eyes. She looked up a who was holding her and it was Leif, but something was wrong. He was staring at something, something that put terror in his eyes. She squirmed a little so that she could position herself to look at what Leif was looking it. It wasnt long before so to was staring at the creature in front of them. What had happened? All she could remember was trolls chasing her and seeing red....she froze when she realized what she had done. Did they see? she forgot about the creature standing before them for a few seconds. She caught Mordred out of the corner of her eyes..did he see? her ears laid flat on her head and she cowered in Leifs arms before looking back at the creature. Who or what was it? Why was it here and who is that behind it?

    OOT: IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'M BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!

    ...
    Ahem.
I have now finished my dissertation and my girlfriend has gone home. I'm free, ladies and gentlemen. And now, to business once more.

    ------------------------------------
The creature took another step. Its wings flared. It was clearly growing eager for a kill.
    Martyris swallowed.
Well... can’t say being free wasn’t fun while it lasted.
“Everyone, start to move backwards. I’ll stand my ground, draw its attention while-“

    THUNK.

Tyrcestus’s eyes rolled back in his head and he slumped to the ground. The captain twisted his cutlass back the right way round, stepping over the unconscious young man as the Great Animal cocked its head, curious about this turn of events.

“I’ve seen orcas hunt at sea,” the grizzled captain murmured quietly. “Seen ‘em hunt penguins.”

The Great Animal studied that which stood before it, armed with steel, and opened its jaws silently. The lines of teeth were almost too sharp to look at. Its maw looked like a black hole with fangs.

“The eldest and weakest penguin peels off the group, draws their attention while the young ones get to safety. It’s a weird relationship between predator and prey, really.”

The captain looked back over his shoulder at the group. Hexy was silently shaking her head no, while Vizard and Gizzard looked terrified. The pirates looked like they were going to protest, when the captain pulled his pistol from his holster. “Alright,” he barked, startling them. “You, lad,” he motioned to Leon, “get a few of these lot to pick up that lad there.” He gestured with the pistol at Tyrcestus’s prone form. “Get yourselves out of here. Get that sword and that princess back,” he went on, and there was a slight trembling to his voice. He was afraid, but wasn’t going to let that get in the way.

Jeru looked at Savvie with confusion. “What’s he doing?” Savvie motioned for Luceforvis to take him, and she took his hand and led him away, shooting the old sea dog a last look as she did so. Brisk and Hailbird said nothing, both looking down at the ground, ashamed of their inability to help against such an opponent. Stake merely followed Luceforvis without a backwards look. Briarle bowed her head, and stood by Savvie’s side. “You’re a brave man,” Savvie said at last.

The pirates began to wail and moan, their silence broken at last, begging the captain not to go, beseeching him to flee with them.
“SILENCE, YE WORM-RIDDEN BILGERATS!” the captain bellowed, and they all fell silent.

“I’m an old man, you whelps. An old sea captain with nothing left but his duty to his King, and there are a million other captains like me out there.” He chuckled, but tears were falling from his cheeks. “You don’t even know my name, do ye?” No-one said a word.

He wiped his eyes and turned, cutlass in hand, pistol cocked, facing down the Great Animal, his body stiff and proud. And for just a moment, everyone saw the soldier he must have been in his prime.

“I just have one favour, to ask of ye. When ye get out of here, and you will, and anyone asks after me? You tell them. You tell them how Captain Hornsey of the old creaking ship Manatee’s Blessing went toe to toe with a GOD!” The cavern echoed with his cry. “THAT is glory! THAT is making a mark! THAT is changing the world!” He looked back at them all, face red and wet with tears, his scruffy beard shining with teardrops, his whole body shaking from fear – but his eyes were alight with a burning feverish gleam that, in the dark gloomy cavern, would have eclipsed the sun for warmth.
“Go on! Off with the lot of ye! I’ll show this Great Beastie how his Majesty’s navy does battle!”
He turned to face the Great Animal again, which had patiently waited for him to finish his speech, sensing an adversary potentially worth the wait. “Off now! Run!”

Wolfette stared up at the leviathan elder god that towered over her. It's imposing visage sent chills deep into her interwoven form. The markings on her body burned their agony as her body eagerly tried to take its true form to impress its master. The enchantments on her fought against what must naturally happen.

She began screaming in absolute agony as the aura of the Great Beast forced her to change. Bones shattered, ligaments tore, joints snapped. Her entire form began to change, taking far longer than it had in her prime due to the long years of imprisonment.

Finally standing in her wolf form, pain coursing through her bones due to the enchantment on her skin. Her muzzle split and a ragged howl, half pain and half pleasure, tore forth. It was a cry of adoration and submission to the Great Beast. Her spiritual god.

Vixie looked at the captain with a sad expression on her face, as her fox-like ears lowered slightly. When he was finished his speech, she moved towards him. "You're a brave man, captain." She spoke softly. She then placed her hand upon his blade, and said: "Your blade shall burn with the same fire within your soul." As she said this, an outline of a flamed fox appeared upon the handle of this cutlass. "The fire of the demon fox shall aid in your fight." Vixie looked up at the captain, as her eyes began to water, then she removed her hand from the blade and walked towards Tyrcestus's unconscious body. "I'm sorry." She whispered to herself, as she knelt down beside Tyrcestus.

    "We can't..."
I speak up weakly, almost in a whisper.
"No...we can't just leave him here, can we? There has to be a way...we've got to find a way for all of us to make it out of here alive."
It can't end like this, can it? I can't let myself believe that it's really so hopeless, but it's not like I can think of any other way. That thing...it's too terrifying for words. But still, do we really have to sacrifice him just to stay alive?! I've always hated that way of thinking. I wanted to believe that no matter what, if you just try hard enough, you can get through just about anything.
"There has to be a way..."
My hands are shaking almost as much as my voice. Just then...I feel a hand on my shoulder and I turn my head to see a familiar face staring back at me. He shakes his head sadly.

"You know he's got to do this, right? You heard the man...they're waiting for you; give them the order to retreat."
Between himself and Leon, Leif was always the more realistic of the two. It broke his heart to see tears forming in Leon's eyes. The man who had never believed in a hopeless scenario was being forced to face the sad reality of the situation. The sight was enough to make Leif start tearing up as well.
"Let's go, Trinity. He's got this."
Holding Trinity close, he took his hand off of Leon's shoulder and walked away.

I look back to the captain one last time. Even though he's just as scared-- no, even more scared than anyone else-- he looks so...heroic facing down the giant beast. The sight of him gives me the last bit of motivation I need to push through. I turn around and address the crew.
"Well, do you have ears or not?! You heard the captain's last order! This last dance is his and the rest of us aren't invited!"
I point behind myself to the captain.
"Look at him! See what a real man looks like! Burn it into your memories, do ya hear me?! It's our duty to sing songs of what we saw here today, to tell anyone who'll listen of what it was like to be there, to turn Captain Hornsey's story into a legend that folks will pass on to their children, their grandchildren and their grandchildren's children!"
I look at two crew members and motion towards Tyrcestus.
"You two, pick him up and go ahead of the rest of us. Now!"
When they start moving, I turn back to everyone else.
"As for the rest of us...it's time to go! NOW! RUN AS IF THE REAPER HIMSELF WERE RIGHT ON YOUR HEELS!!!"
Before taking off myself, I take one last glance at the old captain.
    "Thank you..."
He probably couldn't even hear it, but I quietly thank him anyway. Then I start running out of the cavern with everyone else.

Before leaving with the others, Mordred walked up to the captain. He stopped just a few paces away and spoke.
"Until this moment, I never would have guessed that a man who calls himself a pirate could possess bravery such as yours. Fight well, Captain of the Manatee's Blessing. May you die on your feet with sword in hand."
After saying his version of a goodbye, he ran to keep pace with the others.

After the old captains speech, Sean gave the captain a silent nod and started to retreat with the others. It wasn't in his morals to let a brave man's sacrafice be in vain.
He couldn't help but think what was going to be ahead of them.....

Zerron Gritted his teeth as he looked around at the current situation. He knew that because of the great beast he couldn't do anything but to retreat. But he also wanted to beat that joker of a dark wizard to a red pulp so badly. As he started to retreat with the others, he promised to himself that if he ran into that jester again, he'd give him what he deserves.

"Why the hell did he have to summon that beast anyways?"

Usually a werewolf appearing out of nowhere would have earned a lot more alarm, but as of right now everyone was trying hard not to cry. Hexy looked utterly torn, but the captain smiled at her over his shoulder. “Get going, lass. It’ll be alright.” Tears filled her eyes, but in the end she smiled back, if only to give him some last measure of comfort. “Good luck,” she managed, before turning and fleeing deeper into the cavern. The pirates carrying Tyrcestus’s body followed after, leaving Vizard and Gizzard to merely nod and give half-hearted thumbs up before following the others. Only Savvie and Briarle were left, Brisk and Hailbird leaving silently. The captain and Savvie locked eyes for a second.

“Take care of them,” the captain said.

Savvie nodded, just once, before he turned and led Briarle away, whistling to make sure the werewolf followed too.

The captain stood there looking over his shoulder at them, making sure they had completely left the chamber. Once he was certain they had gone, he looked down at the flaming fox insignia on his sword, and as he did the old reliable rusty blade seemed to glow with a new fierce light. He chuckled to himself.
“Haven’t looked this good in years.”
The sound of low rumbling made the captain look up. The Great Animal had soundlessly moved directly into his face, and was towering over him, a colossus as black as night with teeth as white as snow. Its eyes were locked onto his, the soulless nightmarish orbs unblinking and unwavering.

“Alright.” The captain lit his pipe, and clenched it between his teeth. He checked his pistol was loaded, all while the beast flexed its claws and gnashed its fangs.
Captain Hornsey had accepted his death. But that didn’t mean he’d give this monster the indignity of a quick battle, not if he could help it. Deep in his soul he could feel a strange bond with this animal, a similar heart beating in their chests. He knew, as well as he knew his own two feet and the creaking of his bones, that this creature wanted an opponent it could remember. And for all its courtesy, it would be the least he could do to try and oblige.
He took one last pull on his pipe, flicked his sword wrist – making the cutlass burst into flames along its steel as the magic of the demon fox did its work – and pointed his pistol up at the creature’s eye.

“In the name of his Majesty, the King of the Free Kingdom of Men, and all that is good and righteous...” He paused. “Violet, my darling. I’m coming to you over the sea on this thing’s back. Just... watch me.”
    Then he attacked.

As the others fled deeper and deeper, the cavern seemed to be nearing a natural end, as they got further and further inside.
Then, from behind them, they heard a terrifying howling shriek that set their bones to jelly and for a moment, just a moment, the bravest of them – Savvie, Mordred, even the werewolf or brave-hearted Leon – would have sank to their knees and trembled in terror.

But, rising over the horrendous noise, soaring as high and as pure as a fairy’s trumpet, came gunshots, the ringing of steel, and the laughter and yelling of a captain in the process of carving out his own personal legend.
“MAN THE GANGPLANKS! HA! YOU THINK YOU’VE GOT THE BEATING OF ME, EH? YOU’RE GONNA HAVE TO TRY HARDER THAN THAT, YOU OVERGROWN FLEA-BITTEN MANGY CUR! HAVE AT YE! HA!”
The noise lifted them, bolstered them, reminded them that every step they took was bought dearly, and the pirates let out a great bellow as one in support of the brave captain and charged deeper into the caverns. Hexy looked back the way they came and silently prayed that if the Great Animal had any notion of mercy, it would make it a swift death.

Vixie held back her tears, as the flame carried upon her tail lit the path ahead of them. She paused, as the cavern carried the captain's voice, followed by the bellow of his crew. She found herself quietly praying deep within herself that in her heart of hearts that the great animal and the captain would find a merciful and glorious end...and that either of their spirits would find peace.
Vixie slowly looked over her shoulder at everyone's faces; studying the gentle glow the flames gave to their contours.

The sharp whistle caught Wolfette's attention and broke her gaze from the Great Beast. As she turned to look behind her, she found that the rest of the group had fled from the cavern. All but one man and herself. He held his sword before him, an emblem glowing on the blade signified an enchantment. A battle was about to be fought. A short one.

But especially, a fight that she may not survive if she were in attendance. Despite the disappointment, she turned tail and hurried off after the rest of the group, leaving the foolish man to his fate.

It didn't take her long to catch up with the others. The firelight glow illuminated the tunnel and the outlines of the humans around her. They smelled of fear, sweat and urine. Not really an appetizing ideal... but after such a perversion to her mind however many decades ago, it was an aroma signifying a feast. The pain chose this moment to begin boring into her mind, attempting to tear her furry form from her. Any thoughts of eating were banished at the consistent aching of her skull.

A small whimper escaped her muzzle as she tried not to run over the people in front of her.

When we finally make it far enough away from the fight to catch our breath, I find myself slumped against a nearby wall, staring up at the ceiling.
    "He's really gone..."
I think back to that horrifying shriek that came from the cavern just a few moments ago. It sends a chill up my spine...but then I remember the captain shouting right back at it. Even though I was still scared out of my mind, there was something...glorious about that moment. It was the final defiant yell of a brave man who gave his life so we could all stay alive. Just thinking about it is enough to bring tears to my eyes once again.

I wipe those tears away when I see that familiar face from earlier approaching
"Wow...it really is you, isn't it, Leif?"

Leif gives Leon a wry grin and nods.
"Man, it sure has been a while, Leon. I thought I was doing alright but apparently, you're doing even better! How'd you end up becoming a pirate captain? I can honestly say I never saw that one coming."
    He raises his eyebrow slightly.
"You're not going around burning and pillaging, are you?"

    I chuckle weakly in response.
"Of course not, we're not that kind of pirate."

    Leif shrugs.
"I didn't know there was another kind, but...okay."
He points towards the back of the group.
"You'll have to tell me about it some other time. Some of the guys are saying there's a werewolf following us. Sounds like something the captain should look into."

Now it's my turn to be surprised.
"Huh? A werewolf? Alright, I'll look into it."

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I make my way to the back of the group and...sure enough, there's a werewolf here! Some of the crew are gathered around it, looking worried with their hands near their weapons. I make my way through them and motion for them to back away, which they do.
    "Alright, what's the meaning of..."
I trail off. Hold on...this werewolf looks kinda familiar. I don't know how, but I feel like I know it. For some reason I can't explain, it kinda reminds me of...oh. Oh, yeah, that would explain it.
    "Wolf Girl?!"
I approach her slowly. I'm not sure if she's gonna recognize me or not, so I don't want to get too close or make any sudden movements.
"Hey, it's me, Captain Leon. Are you alright? Look...I'm sorry I lost track of you when things started getting crazy. I just assumed that you were with us and you were alright. Come on, you can trust me...just calm down and if you want, I can get you some more food. That sounds good, right?"

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Leon walks off, Leif looks down to Trinity who's still in his arms.
"Well, it looks like we're safe now. How are you holding up through all of this?"

But just as he finished asking, Mordred walked up to the two of them and addressed Leif.
"It seems that we are out of danger for the time being. I will watch over her."

Leif looked up at Mordred and gave him a wry smile.
"Aww, I was just getting used to having a pet cat, too."

"Amusing. Now will you return my apprentice?"
Leif clicked his tongue as he returned Trinity to Mordred.
"Not even a chuckle, huh? It wouldn't hurt you to crack a smile once in a while, you know."

"Unless, by some strange twist of fate, we discover that smiles are an effective weapon against the Elves, I would appreciate it if you would refrain from bothering me about something as trivial as my facial expressions."
Leif stared at Mordred in stunned silence for a moment.
    "That...almost sounded like sarcasm."

"I was simply speaking my mind. You are free to interpret it however you wish."

Trinity ears perked up upon hearing there was a werewolf following the. She started sniffing the air and looking around, looking a little worried. Werewolves often hunted her kind or at least that is what she was told as a child. When she saw Mordred approach, she felt less worried seeing he was safe. When Leif went to return Trinity to Mordred, she leaped into Mordred's arms. She couldn't help but let out a purr of excitement. After a few moments of Leif and Mordred exchanging words, Trinity thought it best to change back into her human form and to try to refrain from changing into anything that resembled a cat, with a werewolf nearby.
She jumped down out of Mordreds arms and sat on the ground for a few seconds as her body started to change into a human. She looked up at Mordred and Leif and gave Leif a smile.
"Thank you for protecting me and keeping me safe while I slept. but...."
    she looked at Mordred
    "When did I fall asleep?"
she couldn't remember everything that happened, she remembered seeing blood and.... she looked down at her clothing lifting the material to the dress she had on, which were now tattered and torn and covered in blood. The side of her dress had a slashes that looked like it was from claws.
"I remembered being chased and cornered and lots of pain, then there was a lot of blood, at least I think it was blood, it smelled like blood, but then it all went black and when I woke up. There was that monster and I was in Leif's arms waking up from sleep. I don't remember falling asleep."
she looked down at the ground for a moment deep in thought as if she was trying to remember anything
    "The last time that happened......."
Then it hit her, this happened before, not long ago, which resulted in an entire village hunting her, and she suddenly looked up at Mordred with tears in her eyes
    "Did I......."
she couldn't finish her sentence or even come up with the words to explain it
    "Please tell me.....tell me I didn't change......into.......that"
she clinched her fists hoping to hear that she just passed out or got knocked out, anything but that horrible form. Her eyes went from Mordred to Leif and back again waiting, tears streaming down her cheeks. She never wanted to ever change in to that form again, she didn't want to hurt anyone, especially Mordred, not after all he had done for her. She was silent for a moment and her eyes dropped to where she was now looking down at the ground, deep down she already knew the answer, it all pieced together, what else could have happened. She was afraid to look at them with her next question, one she feared happened and hoped didn't. She clinched her fist so hard, that she dug her nails into her palm to where blood was dripping from them. A small puddle started to form
    "Did I....."
    she tensed her entire body
    "hurt......you"
She closed her eyes and held her breath waiting for the answer

The captain was tired. So, so very tired.
The rock beneath his feet was seemingly swaying, his footing unsure, just like the first time he’d ever stepped on a boat over half a century ago.
His breath came in pained gasps, his bones aching in protest at how much they’d been battered and bruised in the last twenty-four hours – the last day of his life as it had turned out.
The Great Animal had wounded him, but nothing serious. Cuts, scrapes, a few bruises, maybe. He knew it was irrelevant. This creature was his superior in every way. The only reason he was still alive was because the beast hadn’t decided to finish him yet, and the fire on the sword he carried flickered and wavered, dimming slightly but still there, still by his side in the face of death. He gripped the hilt tightly, and the dancing flames offered him a small comfort. Every second he held this thing at bay, the others were capable of getting out of its reach.
The Great Animal was looming over him, not even panting. It was completely relaxed, completely serene, totally peaceful in the face of his last struggle for survival.

His cutlass felt heavy in his hand.

He swung, the movement feeling like dragging the earth itself from the ground, and the Great Animal lazily swatted the blade aside, tearing it from his hand with the sheer power of the motion. His old cutlass bounced away across the shadowy floor of the cavern, and his last two pistols came up.

The shots rang out, and in this place, they sounded like the roaring of cannons.

The lead simply impacted the beast in the face, twice, and it showed no reaction to them at all. He lunged, swinging the butt of the pistol in his sword hand at the thing’s snout. It connected with a sickening thud, but he may as well have tried to knock down a wall with it for all the good it did. It tossed its head, and his back met cavern wall with a crunch. He felt things inside him break and he fell to his knees.

The beast padded closer and looked down at him, its jaw agape, all of those razor fangs on display, its claws extended to the fullest.

The captain forced himself to his feet as best he could, but he could only manage one knee before his body gave out and he crashed onto his front. He rolled over and looked up into the thing’s empty eyes, void of anything. Actually... the more he looked, the more he could see something in them. A woman, at first old and wrinkled, but the more he stared the more age fled from her, till she was young and beautiful and laughing and dancing in a skirt he’d bought her the first day he came home from his first voyage. They’d danced through the night to the hornpipe.

The monster crouched, bringing him closer to the sight. “Violet...” the old man breathed as the beast extended its claws and reached for his neck, where the jugular vein still pulsed, strong and vibrantly.

The Great Animal gently placed the tip of its talon against the red throbbing vein, and the captain came to the conclusion that when he saw Violet in the afterlife, he was not going to have to tell her he died quietly.
“YARR!” he bellowed with the last of his strength, and rammed the still-smoking end of his pipe straight up the creature’s nose. The Great Animal started with genuine surprise and its claw slipped, cutting the vein open but also jerking upward, stabbing through the underside of his chin, through the roof of his mouth and straight into his brain, killing him instantly. The Great Animal reared up, snorting and shaking its muzzle, and was soon as right as rain. It looked down at the elderly human who had been so defiant to the end. It watched as the soul of Captain Hornsey fled his body and spiralled skyward, heading to the gardens it knew so well. Once it was sure that the opponent’s body was nothing but an empty vessel, it devoured him completely, as was its custom for opponents it could respect. Not wanting to trivialize the sacrifice of the eldest mortal, the Great Animal spread its wings and flew up, straight through the rock of the prison, out through the sea, and before long was soaring high above the clouds, far from that place, and with a primitive amusement it noted that there was still the scent of Whale’s Bid tobacco in its left nostril.

    ...Urgh...
    Martyris? What... happened, exactly?
    ... I think something... tragic.

The light returned to the world for Tyrcestus as he sat up. Martyris’s pain felt like the most surgical headache imaginable. He looked around, quickly. No-one seemed to be badly hurt, although there was a werewolf Leon was talking to for some reason which was alarming. He did a quick head count, and had just finished as Hexy came over.
    “You’re awake,” she said softly.

“Yup,” Tyrcestus replied, stretching his back. “Where’s the captain? He’s gone.”
Hexy looked down at the ground.
    ...Oh.
Tyrcestus looked at her blankly for a few seconds. Then it clicked. “He...”
“He stayed behind to fight it,” Hexy said, her voice trembling slightly. “He bought us all time to escape.”
Vizard and Gizzard nodded mournfully. Tyrcestus bit his lip.
Okay, kid. Tune down on the guilt, I can feel it coming.
Martyris, I’m the Wingmender for crying out loud! It’s my job to make sure no-one dies!
    I know, Ty. I know.
    DON’T CALL ME TY.
    ... Alright, alright.

Tyrcestus sat down on a nearby stone and didn’t say anything for a few minutes while everyone else recovered. Brisk and Hailbird looked downcast. Briarle was sorrowful. Jeru was confused, with Luceforvis telling him not to ask questions. Stake was as impassive as ever, and Savvie remained calm as well. “Alright everyone,” he announced to get their attention. “Your brave captain gave us a way out of there, and for that he will be remembered, most dearly. But there’s no time to sit and mourn. We have to keep moving, if only to honour his memory.”
When no-one barring his group looked to him from their despair, he cast his gaze at Tyrcestus. “Come on. Sitting around moping solves nothing. You know that.”

    He’s right you...
*A mental glare too scathing and blistering to describe through the medium of words alone.*
... You already knew that. Okay, shutting up.

Tyrcestus got to his feet again and nodded grimly. “He’s right. We still have to find Clun, the princess, and whoever this group are missing. In the name of the captain.”

    Leif bit his lower lip.
"If she knew what really happened, it'd break her heart."
With this thought in mind, he shook his head and answered even though the question wasn't directed towards him.
"Eh, it wasn't all that bad. I mean...I was only there for part of it but it didn't seem too bad, I'm sure you--"

Mordred grabbed Leif's shoulder and shook his head, then he looked to Trinity.
"You did. But I do not resent you for it."

From another part of the room, they heard Tyrcestus calling out for everyone to gather together so they could keep moving forward.

Mordred looked to Leif and motioned towards the bulk of the group.
"Tell them that we will be along shortly. We still need a moment."

Leif, saying nothing, nodded in agreement and walked towards the others.

Mordred turned his attention back to Trinity, looking directly into her eyes.
"You once told me that you were afraid of your own powers because every time you used them, the people around you hated you for it. I can understand that it must have been very traumatic for you, but you need to understand that such a thing will not happen with me. I was well aware that your power could become dangerous and even harmful, I understood the risks and willingly accepted them. In fact, I may understand more than anyone you have ever met."
He glanced to Apocrypha and briefly held its hilt in his hand.
"I, too, have tapped into a source of forbidden power that I once feared. With time, you may learn to control your abilities as well."
Slowly, he placed both hands on Trinity's trembling shoulders.
"Nevertheless, no matter what may come, I will not hate you simply for being who you are. I am not like other people you have met. I will not turn on you, you have my word."

OOT: Gonna wait a little longer for Lullabye to reply before making a post for Leon.

Scurra's hearty chuckle could be heard echoing around the current position of the group, his voice following in suite, "Whoopsie, it looks as if your numbers have decreased!" The laugh came again. "Heed my words, you will all suffer; feel the pain of those before you; and the last one standing, well, you will have gone through the most pain. I will let that person live. A fruitless life of dread - knowing you were unable to save your," he spat out the next word, "companions."

The voice slowly concentrated to the general location behind the group, a shroud of darkness having encompassed the immediate retreat. "Pain pain pain pain pain! YOU WILL ALL FEEL IT!"

Vixie's whole body seemed to tremble beneath her robes. It was as if she could feel this entity's voice inside her, as well as around her. She gripped her bow tightly, then turned to face the entity; however, she could not see it.
Vixie looked towards Tyrcestus, and said: "We should be swift." She placed her bow on her shoulder. "If the Elves have not arrived at our destination, they will soon."

Trinity looked up at Mordred and blinked. She was surprised at what she was hearing. She started wiping the tears away from her eyes, but only managed to smear blood on her cheeks in replace of them.
"But every time I have changed into that....form...."
she paused to take a breath
"I end up hurting everyone. The last time it happened, , I nearly killed a group of boys my age, boys who were my friends. "
she spoke quietly and looked away for a moment when saying the next sentence
    "Or supposed to be"
She glanced back up at him and then down at the ground as she continued
"When word got out that I nearly killed them, the family that was taking care of me chased me off and told me never to return, when I went to leave the entire village was waiting for me, I managed to escape, but they hunted me for weeks. I managed to get away in my cat forum since I am so small and able to hide in dark places. "
She looked back at Ty and the group
"That is how I ended up with them, and then I ran into you"
she looked back up at Mordred, her eyes were like looking at a little child, it seemed like he wasn't afraid of her, nor did he want to chase her off.
"You're not afraid I will hurt you again?"
At that moment she heard a voice in her head, she shuddered and started looking around in a panic
"Where is that coming from...that voice"
she shook her head and looked back at Mordred
"There are so many evil things in here"
between the voice and.....she glanced over where the werewolf was. She suddenly had fear in her eyes, if her instinct was right and the stories were true, than she could be in worse trouble. She glanced back at Mordred
"I'm sorry if I hurt you and thank you for being so kind to me"
A hint of a smile appeared
"We should probably get out of here, I don't feel safe here"
She looked down at her aching palms noting the blood. She glanced over at the girl hoping that she didnt catch her scent
"do you have any bandages or cloth ?"
she asked keeping her eyes on the girl

Mordred looked towards the direction that the voice came from, a solemn glare in his expression that belied the anger he felt towards the creature. He ignored it for the time being, turning his attention back to Trinity while reaching into his bags.
"I do. Hold still for a moment."
Carefully and methodically, he knelt down tended to her wounds. Though her nails had broken her skin, the cuts hadn't gone too deep and a quick bandaging of the hands was enough to take care of it. After he was done, he got back on his feet and turned to face her.
"That should do. Now we should--"
As he made eye contact with her, he hesitated for just a moment. There was something about the innocent, childlike look she had that he couldn't help but marvel at. Maybe it reminded him of simpler days long past or maybe, for the first time in years, he felt what it was like to have someone put their trust in him. Maybe he could hardly believe that after everything she's seen, her eyes still shined with hope and optimism. Whatever it was, it was enough to give him pause, if only for a brief moment. He quickly composed himself and continued.
"...We should hurry and join the others. There is, as they say, "no rest for the weary." Come along."
With that, he ran to catch up with the others while making sure that Trinity was close behind. He made sure to keep his hand on Apocrypha's hilt, knowing full well that this next encounter may come to blows very quickly.

Leif clenched his fists when an all-too-familiar voice echoed through the cavern. He called out to the jester in a voice filled with disgust.
"Those are some pretty big words for someone who's too much of a coward to face us on his own. How about you stop hiding behind your cheap tricks and personally make us feel this pain you keep rambling on about?"
He drew his rapier, his eyes scanning the cavern for his enemy.
"What's the matter? Have you run out of cheap tricks to throw at us? I don't suppose you have another god of destruction hiding up your sleeve, do you?!"
His eyes narrowed, his voice gaining intensity with every venom-filled word he spoke.
"Come out and fight! We've got a score to settle...and I'm sure the captain's spirit will be more than pleased when we take your head for a trophy!!"

As I'm trying to talk down Wolf Girl, I hear a voice that makes me burn with rage the moment it reaches my ears. It's him...it's him for sure! My whole body tenses up and a small growl escapes under my breath. But I have to stay calm...if Wolf Girl sees me getting agitated, there's no telling what she'll do. I take a deep breath and exhale, trying my best to calm my nerves.
"You heard that too, right? He's the one responsible for the captain's death. Please, you've got to listen to me...we're almost out of time. That jester might go on the attack and if he does, they'll need my help. Come on...you've gotta turn back to normal. I don't know much about how lycanthropy works but I can't be in two places at once and the crew needs me, so...help me out here, okay?
