Rumiko Takahashi is an interesting author. Even if you don't know the name you most certainly know her work as she wrote both Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha. The interesting thing about her is nearly everything she has made has been adapted into anime (even if all those adaptations weren't completed).

So it comes as no big surprise that her latest work Rin-ne, a story about a boy who is part shinigami and a girl who can see spirits, has finally been announced to be getting an adaptation.

With Several long running manga like naruto and Bleach ending and their anime following suit and since several of her series lasted a long time this could easily be a new long running series.
