Ant-Man and the Wasp Trailer Introduces The Ghost

Where was Ant-Man? That’s the question you might have been asking after seeing Avengers: Infinity War — and you’re not the only one. The teaser for the new Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer (more on that in a moment) saw the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Letitia Wright, Chris Hemsworth and more asking the very same thing. Well, the full trailer is now in — and it doesn’t offer any answers on that front.

Still, there’s plenty of fun to be had. Paul Rudd is back in the size-altering suit (cue fun with an enlarged Scott Lang scooting around the city on a blue truck), and now he’s got back-up in the form of Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp — about damn time.

The trailer is packed with fun moments — Michael Peña’s scene-stealing Luis is back and getting in on the action, there are more unlikely objects being blown up in the non-Michael Bay sense (giant salt shaker!), and Rudd and Lilly fighting together is a joy to watch. We're also shown a giant ant playing the drums, which is likely a cinematic first. Then there’s the Ghost, the new villain played by Hannah John-Kamen in a nifty white hooded suit, who’s emerged from the Quantum Realm with the ability to phase through walls, objects, and people.

And yet, there’s still no sign of how this all ties into Thanos’ reign of terror. With the UK getting this one a whole month after the States (a Paddington hard stare in the direction of the World Cup for that one) we’ll be waiting until 3 August to see how Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne get involved in the Avengers' plight.
