Amazon Japan announced on Monday that it will exclusively stream a fourth season of the Crayon Shin-chan Gaiden anime series beginning on Wednesday, May 31. The new season is titled Crayon Shin-chan: O-O-O-No Shinnosuke (an apparent homage to the classic supernatural manga and anime GeGeGe no Kitarō). The anime will have 13 episodes of about seven minutes each, and will stream one episode every Wednesday on the Amazon Prime Video service. Amazon also released a 30-second trailer for the series.

    Amazon describes the anime:

A small country town. Recently, the town has witnessed many strange incidents. A yokai kindergartener O-O- O-No Shinnosuke and his yokai father Tamatama Dad arrive in town. They are said to be looking for the yokai Big Butt Mom who has run away from home. When an elementary school girl Fumie Sakura is suddenly attacked by the mysterious Fuzzy Wuzzy, a superfluous-hair yokai, Shinnosuke goes to her aid. Their encounter is the start of the greatest yokai case in the small town's history.

Akira Shigino, the director of the 17th-19th Crayon Shin-chan films, is directing the new anime. Wataru Takahashi, the director of last year's Crayon Shin-chan Bakusui! Yumemi World Dai Totsugeki film, is in charge of series composition.

Etsuko Kozakura will voice Fumie, while Junichi Suwabe will voice the Yōkai User.

The first season debuted on Amazon Prime Video last August, and the second series premiered in November. The third season premiered on February 22.
