Swapping to something short that is entirely different, it might help.
L is awesome.
I can't stand rewatching things now unless it has been a long time. How often could you reread the same manga?
To each their own? I never really liked that Kenshin anime. I've forgotten the first part of the name, though. Rourin, maybe?
Well, yeah. But you should've read the genre list before watching. Plus, lately, I'm finding all types of shoujo annoying. Maybe I'm getting to told for the cliche story lines.
I decided to wait for a bit for Usagi Drop on account that I'm terrible at googling things. Especially torrents.
Yeah, I have one of their versions with me but I never got around to watching it past the 3rd episode. Too sci-fi for my tastes. But I thought maybe the newer ones would be better.
It might, or I might just end up re-watching Ghost Hunt.
A lot. I've re-read Claymore 4 times, La Corda D'Oro 3 times, Angel Diary 2 times, 1/2 Prince 4 times, and so on. The list is never ending.
Rurouni Kenshin you mean, I haven't seen a single ep of it.
At that stage I didn't yet hate the romance genre. And now the rest is history.
Shoujo only has so many things it can do with a love story, you've read that many that you're basically out of new possibilities.
I never torrent anything, so I run into problems when torrents are the only things I can find sometimes. Such problems huh?
Giant robot battles kind of have to be sci fi, but got to go with the old ones where the franchise began I think.
Ghost Hunt was great, John's "Aussie" accent is hilarious. I want more to be adapted but know it won't happen.
Too many rereads. I wouldn't be able to do that really. Feels like a waste of time to watch something you remember clearly.
Ah Junjo Ito, the only thing of his I've seen is Gyo, although it is his only work to receive an adaptation. Gyo was a pretty bad adaptation even without having read the source material.
I did. But I never finished it. Wasn't really to my liking. I really like Eureka Seven, though. So I thought maybe Gundam would be a bit like that. But not really.
True, but then again, every now and then there are some good shoujo manga that defy all shoujo world rules. Skip Beat, for one.
No, more like I'm terrible at Google search. I can't find anything on it.
Haha, I loved his accent too. But you should read the manga. There's even a sequel series and light novels. It's worth a read for sure!!
Yeah, not to me. I love reading and I had nothing but time until a few years ago. Now, not so much.
Gyo was terrible. Even the manga was terrible. You should read, Mini no Kaidan. You'd like it. It's a set of short supernatural events that happen to a girl named Mimi. It really creeped me out. Also Fuan n Tane, Fuan no Tane Plus. You'd love these *¬*
But sword fighting, guess that isn't a preferred genre of yours. I've not seen Eureka but I don't think they suit each other at all. Completely different approaches to mech.
I can get behind some shoujo series but there has to be something about them that catches my attention first.
I've had that issue, BK is my go to person for anything I can't find. Shorts tend to be allusive.
You mean his "accent", absolutely terrible but that made it even better. I wanted to originally but I heard the art is fairly bad. But those extra arcs are tempting.
Well back then you were odd, or maybe I'm odd for not liking when I revisit things.
Oh Gyo manga was terrible as well? I had heard otherwise. Now these short stories sound interesting, pretty much a collection of one shots.
Also you may like to check out this OVA http://myanimelist.net/anime/6809/Toshi_Densetsu_Monogatari_Hikiko
It was pretty creepy.
I actually like sword fighting. Just not this one, in particular. Probably. But being the not so keen on sci-fi person that I am, I can't help myself to say this: aren't all mechs the same? :P
Oh, I'm on a quest, then. Time to find you a shoujo manga. Lol.
Oh, some of my aussie friends said it was dead on. Maybe they were fooling with me. Lol.
The art isn't that great, yes. But sometimes, it's worth it. This time it is. The art gets substantially better in the sequel. Almost the same level as the anime.
No, I'm known for being odd. I'm just weird.
I hated it. But maybe other people liked it. I just thought the idea was terrible. Toxic fish that bite and kill people sounds so much like an under budget shark/alligator film.
I knew you'd like them. Also Shinrei Tantei Yakumo and Yumekai Kenbun :D They're both long running series, though.
But Psychic Detective Yakumo was very good (It has an anime, not sure how that is, though) and Nightmare Detective isn't horror but those odd mini stories and the long running plot in the background intrigued me.
Gyo movie was exactly that, an under budgeted film. It was pretty bad but oddly intriguing.
I've seen Yakumo, I found it to be great, rated it a 9/10
Mini series? Tsumiki no Ie you mean? It is a single ep not a series. We don't exactly encourage the sharing of torrents, I think that is mentioned in our TOS.
You can find as many good titles as you want, I won't read them that easily.
It is one thing to mimic the fake voice of MR Bean, it is another to get a countries accent dead on. And John Brown's was horribly bad but that made it more enjoyable.
Quite possibly never.
Terribly intriguing then, Gyo is a one of a kind movie that is for sure.
Yakumo was great but I'm not going to read it. The final ep was amazing.
I don't think we encourage sharing download links to other websites either. Tsumiki no Ie is listed as a 12 minute movie if you really want to get into things. Kind of hard for 1 episode to be a series by itself.
I shall. I'll let you know what I think of it once I've seen it. I actually wanted to watch the Japanese ghost stories anime but my internet isn't working properly :/
Had no idea there was a good kind of heartbreaker. Just another flaw to wear with pride then isn't it?
Not exactly never, just very unlikely to be any time soon.
Good, I hope you like it because there are a few of us here that have rated it as one of the best things we've seen. Is the anime Ghost Stories or Yami Shibai because they are very different kinds of anime [well Ghost Stories dub is a parody/comedy]
How mean. Romance keeps this world alive. Well.. nevermind.
The future holds a lot of me pleading and you denying. I can see it happening already..
That generally is the case for series with one-three episode short stories. They always finish the cool ones off in the beginning and leave the crap ones for the second and third season.
If that is what the future holds I could be okay with that, means you're going to be sticking around with us for a long while to come.
Yami Shibai is just short length, each ep is one off and doesn't relate to any other ep. Although I'd agree with you, as time goes on the next seasons generally do get worse. Some exceptions apply but more often then not S1>S2
I've seen plenty of romance anime, and some have been good, but it is just easier to say that I hate the genre as a whole since I am always concerned before starting one.
This is a first, someone actually knows how the seasons work. I can't remember how many people have been confused after hearing me say the opposite season to them. You must fight the heat.
All romance manga seem like a cliche now, I wonder if there are any unique ones anywhere that I could possibly know of.Hmm. I may look through my anime and see what was adapted.
Right, forgot that. Were you confused the first time you heard this from them?
Damn 53, well then in that case I don't know what to say. Hang in there maybe?
That much? clicking the romance tag on MALgraph doesn't seem like that much effort to me. But if it doesn't matter then I guess I won't, I'm more suited to anime recommendations anyway.
I know right, not that hard to grasp. Cartoons and things even mention that we have the complete opposite season that they have. Yay for being from the future in a confusing land.
Indeed you are. You shine like the virtual knight that you are when it comes to anime. <:
Haha. I'm pretty sure people will eventually grasp it. It's just that because of the time difference, usually Americans don't come into contact with Australians,
Haha a shining virtual knight of anime, this doesn't exactly sound like a good thing. My list will keep on growing so that I may become even better at recommending things to people.Or something like that?
Yeah they do after a while, it was fun seeing their reactions for the first time. After a while it got old because others still didn't know.
You'd be wrong Nim, I take into account what they like not what I like when recommending shows. Seeing so many only means that I have a wider choice to pick from for recommendations.
I'm closing i on 2,000 titles on MAL now, come at me bro.
You're only helping my point. 2000 titles is a lot to remember though and it's not going to refine your tastes, only magnify your hatred or love of anime tropes.
I myself barely remember what the last 8 show's i've watched are. I mainly make choices based on cute girl harem appeal and for my 'sophisicated' picks I look for mech/action/sciencefiction.
Another method I have is to look through reviews on MAL.... If something has a decent score, i'll look through the review to find the elitist asshole review. If they nitpick and cry foul about cliches and tropes.... I'll watch the show. If they give it a 7-10/10 for random bullshit reason and claim it's a new concept(impossible in today's creative enviroment), i'll skip it.
More anime = less likely to make informed recommendations?
I go by what the person I am talking to likes not what I like. Rainbow is amazing but I wouldn't suggest it to you because I think that. Instead I'd say something more like Yosuga no Sora for you.
Yosuga no Sora is an incest fest, with partial h scenes. I don't intend to go that far with casual watching and incest creeps me out. I never even made it halfway through Oreimo. And Rainbow looks intriguing, despite the weird fucks giving it a 10/10 with page long reviews, singing the praises.
