Welcome my friend to the wide world of anime. Don't falter along this treacherous path, it will be quite a journey.
The only other level is watching stuff RAW, and apart from shorts that isn't something that I can do yet.

Thank you I will do my best on this new venture and in your case with good reason as I'm sure you can't understand japanese past the weeb level and so have no way of honesty watching and understanding RAW anime that isn't a 5 minute skit.

Yeah, 5 mins is pushing it. I get lines every now and then but I'm a long way away from watching whole episodes for enjoyment.
So now that you are exploring subbed anime, where are you going to start?

Ecchi harem shounen etc. The simple stuff to get me aclimated to subs.

Can you read subs while your eyes are watching something else bounce across the screen though? I don't know, it might be hard for you to get use to.
Although I know a nice little ecchi short you could try. Pretty sure I promote it whenever possible.

More or less I do miss a few minor details that I would usually pick up on but I can manage well enough, so long as the dialogue is simple hense why I'm going with shounen. As far as the reccomedation goes I recall you've mentioned it before, I'll give it a look and let you know.

I find myself missing more and more, but they are little details like background characters and poorer animation on distant objects. Pointless crap really. Everyone more or less starts with shounen for that reason.
I always look for a reason to bring up Kyou no Asuka Show. Good short ecchi fun.
