I saw you started it, and thought it was unusual of you. More so now that you finished it in a single day.
You know, I liked that too. 2nd season focusses on him a lot more, which might be why I'm enjoying it less. Yakumo, Sukeroku and Miyokichi made for one hell of an intriguing story.
What made you watch it?
To be fair, Sukeroku3 and Yakumo8 are still in the second season. So far, I quite like the second season! I do agree that I miss Sukeroku and Miyokichi, but what can you do.
There was nothing else to watch, I was hesitating between Jigoku Shoujo and Hyouka, but I've already watched most of the first season of Jigoku Shoujo (which seems to be missing from my MAL) and I can't remember where I stopped, so I didn't feel like starting over. I read the description of Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju about an ex-con and thought it was interesting. Boy did the first season deliver.
First season delivered and then some. A lot of people would just scroll right on past it. I mean story telling and a criminal, it doesn't sound too good to the larger fanbase.
While I still enjoy S1 more, S2 is better now than last week. Holy shit ep 10 has to be one of the best episodes of that series. My god. Konatsu and Yota's chat with dango. I had the biggest smile on my face. The end too. ARGH don't be.....
I honestly enjoyed hearing Yakumo's stories while he was young and the relationships between those three were a great story itself. Ishida Akira really did a great job in this show. His performance as an older Yakumo is still something else though.
All of the interactions in S2 have been building up my thoughts of this series, episode 10 really was a great episode.
I happened to notice that you began Hyouka as well, what are your thoughts so far?
I don't really like telling people what they should watch unless they first tell me what they are in the mood to watch. So you starting Hyouka was probably for the best. I enjoyed that series too, but Jigoku Shoujo I rated higher than it
Also I just felt like adding, the end of episode 21 of 3 Gatsu no Lion was amazing. I'd much rather watch the family antics with Rei than Shogi match. But I do like a great deal of the Shogi players shown .
I finished the series, the ending was good, but I didn't like what they did with the kids (and it saddens me that they implied Yakumo was Shin-chan's father)
However, I really liked the second last episode that they spent in purgatory.
I rejoiced at seeing everyone meet again and do Rakugo, still friends as if nothing ever happened. I was glad Konatsu got to see Sukeroku do his Rakugo.
