Well... I finished Tales of Zestiria and it's DLC last night. The regular enemies in the final DLC dungeon started getting overly ridiculous and I just wanted to finish the DLC/game in general so it got to the point where I just tried to get to the end and only fought when I had to.

    So... this game...

Most people hate it for whatever reason. Or from what I've seen anyway. After completing it........... I still don't understand or get it. At all. I really don't.

Is it the best game? No. But no game is. Is it as good as Berseria? No. But Berseria appears to be top of the list for most peoples 'Best Tales of' game so comparing it to it is unfair IMO. Does it have bad camera angles during battles at the worst possible time? Yes. Is the difficulty overly ridiculous sometimes? Yes. Especially during the final main game boss and the final dungeon in the DLC.

However... is it as bad as people claim and state that it is? No. Absolutely not. It isn't. HELL NO. NOT AT ALL.

I really enjoyed my experience with this game for the most part. I just didn't see the problems that apparently everyone else says they did. The characters were great. The skits were hilarious at times just like in Berseria. The plot was pretty decent overall too. It got even better near the end of the game just like it did with Berseria.

So I don't see the problem with it. I really don't. AT ALL. But this is coming from someone who loves what appears to be all of the games that most other people hate. So what the hell do I know? I guess?

But whatever. The one thing that's become abundantly clear to me is that people complain about way to much when it comes to video games anymore.

Anyway I'm done. Rant over. TL;DR... Tales of Zestiria isn't as bad as people state and claim that it is IMO.

I'll probably start playing World of Final Fantasy tonight assuming I have nothing else better to do. It's literally Video Game Fusion between Pokemon and Final Fantasy. YES PLEASE. :p

I finished World of Final Fantasy (Maxima) Tuesday night finally. With both endings. Honestly... I really loved that game. It was just tons of fun and all of the Final Fantasy crossovers just made it even better for me. Plus the fact that it was pretty much a video game fusion between Pokemon and Final Fantasy was just great. The final bosses (including True Ending versions) were probably the easiest final bosses I've fought since Persona 5. It was a good 'pretty much a break game' for me after all of the frustrations and difficulty I endured in Tales of Zestiria.

Anyway next up I'm tackling from my backlog, which I started last night, is Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered. Although I can't say all that much yet... it's very pretty. Graphically I mean. Even the anime cutscenes look very crisp as well as Ghibli-esque but I knew that going into it. Pretty fun so far but I've barely started.

I finished Ni No Kuni Wrath of the White With Remastered to my liking on Wednesday night. I wasn't satisfied so I played a little into post-game and all it took was 2 more silver trophies to get me to the point where I was satisfied. Post-game requires too many specific items/equipment/setups/monsters/etc. that I just don't have the patience or will to do. Sorry.

Overall I'd say this game was pretty fun and relatively easy for the most part. Very pretty and story was pretty good.

I then started the sequel to the game I just played. I guess. Technically. Ni No Kuni II Revenant Kingdom. I'm only about 2 hours in and... well... it's much darker than the first game. Which I kind of like. Also... GOOD GOD. THIS GAME. SO GODDAMN FUN. I'm already having more fun with this game than I did with the first game. Why? Well... they removed the monster catching entirely and just made it a straight up ARPG. So think of Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy XV. The game got both massive flak and massive praise for doing that. For me though... YEP. SO MUCH BETTER. :D

Well... I finally finished Ni No Kuni II Revenant Kingdom. I was forced to play into post-game again though. Not only that... but for a lot longer than I had to play into Wrath of the White Witch Remastered post-game.

But don't take that the wrong way. I didn't mind it as much in Ni No Kuni II. BECAUSE GOOD GOD. THIS GAME. WAS SO GOD DAMN GOOD. Story was great (especially in later chapters), gameplay was OUTSTANDING and chaotic fun at times and it was just an overall fun experience for me. In the end the removal of 'anime cutscenes' didn't matter at all because I didn't even notice because of how much fun I was having lol.

I'd definitely say that this is, by far, the BEST game I've played this year thus far. Unfortunately... that's not really saying much. Because it's only March obviously. Well that and I still have stuff like Nier Automata, Final Fantasy 7 Remake (Part 1), and Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition in my backlog. So... yeah... it probably won't hold that for very long. RIP.

I would most certainly be ALL OVER another game. Unfortunately... even if there is one... it'll never see the light of day in the U.S. due to Level 5's death. Although, IIRC, Bandai Namco were a part of both Ni No Kuni games so I suppose it's possible they could localize and release a potential Ni No Kuni III for them... but... I feel like that shouldn't be counted on that happening. So yeah... I loved this game to death. Believe it or not, I ended up with 4 (5 including the Platinum) trophies left to get. But the rest are just too grindy for my tastes and I just want to move on at this point. Sorry?

Anyway... I hope I've had a long enough break from the Tales of franchise. Not that it really matters. Because yep... I'm back to it once again. This time... with Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition which I've already started playing if you haven't noticed already lol. Yikes. The game isn't messing around. I was thrown into the deep end IMMEDIATELY. The first boss was RIDICULOUS. I managed to win somehow though. Oh well I guess. I just hoping this isn't going to become an on-going pattern...

Either way with Tales of being complicated in their own ways... I intend on NOT CARING AT ALL about trophies. Because trophies for these games are practically challenges in their own right. So I'll take whatever I get pretty much. Either way... wish me luck if you feel like it. I probably will need it.

    Sorry for the long post.

I finished Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition Monday night.

Unfortunately... overall... my opinion on this game is unchanged. I vastly overestimated how much I would like this game. I really did. It's very unfortunate too. I wanted to like this game. I really did. I'm not even saying that I didn't like it or hated it. Because I didn't. It just had... too many problems for me.

The story took way too long to get good. I mean eventually it did get good and it stayed good and was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING honestly. But... it took too long to do so IMO. If you want to have a good story... that's fine. But, IMO at least, it took too long to get there. Have the story slowly but progressively get better. Not just be flatlined and then all of a sudden do a massive spike. That's what Vesperia did IMO. It didn't reach that point until I hit the 20 hour mark. That's too long IMO. o_O

I absolutely hated the battle system. It was just crap and I couldn't deal with it at all. I was FORCED to switch to Easy and grind which I've never had to do in any of my prior Tales of games. I also ended up resorting to the free add-on level up items. I saved them until endgame, and broke the game once I used them, but it's just the fact that I struggled more than I really should have. Is it just me? Sure it could be. But it's just what my experience was. It's quite funny considering people complain about Zestiria's battle system. I'll take that over Vesperia's system any day.

So unfortunately, for me at least IMO, the negatives were just too much for the AMAZING story to overcome. I was overall extremely disappointed and underwhelmed with Vesperia. But the story and characters were great. That's about all I can say positively about it unfortunately. The crap (IMO) battle system and constant struggles were just too much for the great story to overcome. Oh well I guess. 7/10

Here's my updated Tales of tier list for those who care (from best to worst):

    Berseria
    Zestiria
    Vesperia

Sorry all. Maybe I'll have better luck next time. Either way... I'll be starting Life is Strange 2 tonight. This one has mixed reception but I always judge games for myself. It'll be an interesting ride either way I suppose.

I finished Life is Strange 2 last night and obtained my 8th Platinum trophy. Overall... I really liked this game. People complain about it being to 'political.' Sure? I guess? Then again everything seems to be political now because people don't want to have common sense anymore so it's really not that much of a surprise.

I'd say the first game is definitely better but I still enjoyed it quite a lot. The final choice was much easier (for me anyway) then the final choice in the first game was. Overall I enjoyed and liked this game.

I will be moving on to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX which I will start playing tonight. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried. I struggled immensely with Super Mystery Dungeon. If this happens again... *sighs*

Well for now I'll see what I can find in terms of what pokemon is the 'best partner choice' and just go from there I guess.

Well... I finished Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX last night. Honestly... I'm glad. This series frustrates, angers, annoys, stresses, and just does too much to me. It's getting sickening and I don't honestly think I can take it anymore. Because, once again, this game was WAY to god damn hard, harder than it needed to be, and was too hard for me (doesn't bode well for me completing Hollow Knight).

This BS didn't use to happen. It really didn't. I don't know what happened, or changed, or whatever, but something clearly did. What that is... well... I f-ing wish I knew that myself. I really do.

At this point... I think I'm probably done with this series. For good. It's extremely unfortunate too. Because, honestly, this was probably my favorite Pokemon spinoff series (unless Legends turns out to be GOD DAMN AMAZING). But I can't take the BS anymore. I honestly can't and I just don't f-ing want to anymore. I don't know if anymore games/remakes/whatever will be made... but if they are... I'm probably just going to watch a playthrough on YouTube/Twitch/whatever because it's become abundantly clear to me that I can't deal with this series and it's BS way-to-hard difficulty anymore. Sorry everyone.

Anyway it's been a long time coming... but I plan on starting Nier Automata tonight. When I played the demo when I heard too much about it... it was probably the most fun I've had playing a demo in a VERY long time, potentially ever. I'm going to try to get the Platinum (because it's a 3/10 difficulty according to another website I'm on) but some of the trophies are potentially grindy. So either I won't get it... or I'll resort to a certain... thing... that is in this game that I found out about during my 'attempting the Platinum' research.

Feel free to spam message me with E

    actually please don't lol

    Tales of Vesperia, Graces F
Hyperdimension Neptunia (also wanting to replay Mk2, then go finish V)

Well the game I've played the most recently is New Pokemon Snap. It is stupidly addicting and just fills you with nostalgia for the original one. I've played it for way too long already and it isn't even my damn game.

Eh? You've never played the original one? I spent so many hours playing that when I was younger. You'd think how could we find a game that has set paths be so fun? I have no idea but Snap somehow manages to do so. I find the new one better than the last main series games, I've played it for a lot longer already.

Just bought that yesterday~ (but gonna wait to play it until I finish my last assignment...)
Loved the original as a kid, and it's so nice that they remade it. The "minigame" in SunMoon did NOT count at all.

Been playing WoW as usual. A little bit of Genshin, slowly maxing characters. And still playing a little PokéSword even though I already beat it a while ago and still haven't bought the DLC.

idk, i can spend hours playing the same rpg type game for gen 1 -3, hours of the spinoff (colosseum, no fuck XD), but i cant sit down and take pictures of pokemon. I've even beaten Pokemon Channel before, but these types of games fall into the realm of Pokemon games I dont like touching.

Wise choice it can eat up a lot of time if you get really into it. Its so stupid but it is very easy to lose track of time playing it.

Now thats an interesting brag. That almost doesn't even count as a game to me. I think I'm missing 1 or 2 cards from it. Just a huge time waster as well by collecting crap. I think pokemon channel falls into the Animal Crossing type of games where there is no point but to collect. But what did I care since I only wanted it for the downloadable Jirachi.
Speaking of Spin off games, did you ever try Pokemon Conquest?

I actually put in the old Snap again recently. It felt so janky now after playing the new one. I completely forgot the controls were reversed and I missed the only thing I wanted to try. Still full of lots of good memories.
I also was playing Mario Party 1 with friends too. Retro games are always fun to revisit.

Ah, just like an MMO. Going to start it today~

Man, I remember Channel. Never had it since I never had a Gamecube, but a friend did and he put Jirachi on all the saves of our friend group.

I tried one of the newer Mario Party games relatively recently, and damn it was just not the same.

If you stop posting I'll know why. So, how was Snap?

See that was the plan but I believe I only gave it to 1 other person. My friend group while all playing pokemon, didn't exactly care about getting a Jirachi. Then again I was the only person to complete the Hoenn dex to get the Johto starter so I should have known what I was getting into.

The mini games in the newest one suck. I dislike most. Some don't even require you to do anything. I also dislike buying items so I'm not even playing it right in the first place. My goal in a game is to have some sort of fun. Whether I win or lose is irrelevant. Messing with other players is another way for me to enjoy the game.

Very comfy game. Played it for like 12 hours (over two days) before starting to get bored. Got up to
Illumina Meganium, Wishiwashi (megalohydrothalassophobia much?), Milotic, and Volcarona, with mention of a fifth and a snow land

Have since bought the Sword DLC and been playing a bunch of that. Klara a bitch and a cute.

Oof. Tbh I haven't completed my Hoenn Pokédex either. I remember last making progress on it in like 2011 or 12. Didn't stop my friend group from trading me a Totodile in 2005 tho XD

Yup, minigames not fun and the messing with people has been toned down to be "family friendly". Bleh.

Well you enjoyed it but.. You got bored? I've put way too many hours into this game and we've still not found all the pokemon yet. We aren't cheating to find them. Although my brother has checked up which ones we were missing. So many different rarities of photos we need too.
Oh so you haven't finished the story mode yet? I don't know much about it I just take photos.

You bastard. You never finished it either? It wasn't that hard. Meanwhile I've got a full dex sitting there in Y version. Only missing a certain few event only legendaries.

Completely agree. Although I've never given playing with the items a chance. Whats wrong with just wanting to have fun?
    Can still ruin friendships though.

Yeah, just didn't maintain the hook it had on me. Also noticed a sense of dread every time I got a new level, 'cause all the new Pokémon to photo, but can only submit 1 out of 4 ranks per 'mon...

Yeah, despite clocking over 350 hours on the one save.
Sun is the last game I've got full dex on in a while. Only remember 'cause I remember getting the shiny charm on it.
Planning to get the dex done on Sword, but gotta wait for one of my friends to get the Shield exclusives first...

Thread: Finally picked Dark Souls 2 back up. Never finished it, and it was so long ago that I played it last that needed to start again, but was dreading going through all the areas and doing all the grinds again.
