Yeah, I liked Luka, but my favorite was always Gumi. In all honesty Luka isn't as well loved in the video/song making community as she aught to be. She still gets as many songs, if not more, as Meiko, but as far as the younger cast, she is far behind. But there are always alternatives if you're finding it hard to find good Luka songs:

Lily is an obvious choice, since she was another "mature" voice that was meant to be thrown into the mix. But her program is exceedingly hard to use since her vocal range is so short. There's also IA who is almost becoming more popular than Miku herself. She still has a young voice and a large vocal range, but her voice is more mature and soothing than the other young ones.

Also, if you fancy any of Miku's songs and can't find Luka singing it (or at least well) you can try Haku. Haku is a Utauloid that takes Miku's lower vocal range as her own. So it's essentially a deeper (less annoying) Miku, and she can be easily programmed to sing any of Miku's songs. So odds are good that you might find her singing the song "better".

I unfortunately don't know the Vocaloid 3 cast as much as I should, and I know none of Vocaloid 4. But that might be a good start. Meiko and SeeU are also good alternatives, if you haven't looked into either of them you probably should. Luka also has mostly duet or chorus roles in her original songs, since her voice fits the role a lot better than by itself. So if you can find more Vocaloids that you like, it might open you up to more of Luka's songs as well.

    @Roy-Blue
remember hearing Gumi before, but I have forgotten quite what it was like. I will have to get back to her.
I knew about Yowane Haku before, sand if I remember correctly, she was made up as a representation of those who tried to make a song with the Miku program and failed... oh, never mind. At the moment I can't really remember or come up with much info on her, but I understand she is fanmade and a deriviative of Miku. I never bothered listening to her because I did not think there were very many songs with her voice. A link should you feel like killing time with basic info on Haku.

Anyway, if I were to go more for appearance, i am not quite sure which one I would prefer, Luka or Haku, but I am getting off point.
I wish I could operate the VOCALOID engines, but I have a relatively poor sense for music, I think.
Feels like I wanted to say something else, but now I forgot.
Oh, right. Akita Neru was another one, but I know of no voices for her.
(Actually,, there was something aside from that, but now I forget.)

Took me a while to get to it, and I agree, they are good. I prefer Brooks, out of these two.

Let me check again... yes, I do. Nice for something new, but I know I would tire of it if I listen to it too much.

Same here. They aren't up in my favourite list but they are not too bad to listen every now and then. They beat all the pop songs and stuff out there though. Apologies to those who love pop.

Maybe you should apologize to my sister than. Alright, not really, but she always says to listen to the lyrics, that they are good. All I hear is generic music and cheap words from an egotistic signer.

I prefer one of my favorites over pop.

I was aware of the video game soundtracks thread, and it is no big surprise that there is one on anime soundtracks. I just did not realize it (anime) was here, since it was buried in three pages of threads. As for VG music, the gamers only post so much at a time.

For the songs, I liked them. They only one I did not care for was Tool's, but then again, odd music videos can warp my impression on something.

The links work. But since I am not in Japan, it won't let me use it. Discrimination!
I did listen to them. Seems to be good.

Recently found Jack Off Jill. Wouldn't be my number one go to band but some of their stuff ain't too bad to play every now and again. Sugar gashes and I think it was Vivica was alright. They seem similar to the Birthday Massacre but different.

Uh, well. That's a title I wouldn't use for my band.

Saw one band's name was Chilled Monkey Brains. A no-go for me as well.
