All is not well in the realms of Azeroth.

According to Blizzard/Activision's (the parent company of Blizzard Entertainment) recent Q2 report, the WoW subscriber count has reached its lowest point since 2005, with 5.6 million subscribers. This is down 1.5 million from the game's last quarter.

A chart made by MMO Champion suggests that this is the lowest subscriber count since Vanilla WoW.

Blizzard Entertainment has expressed their confidence in their ability to win back subscribers through their upcoming expansion, Legion.

Despite the recent drop in subscribers, WoW remains the most subscribed-to MMO in the world. And I doubt that it will be going anywhere, anytime soon.

I wonder how many of those are actually unique subscribers though. I know a few people that actually created multiple accounts, and even subscribed on all those accounts. Why they needed to have multiple accounts is beyond me. It does explain the queue times though. It doesn't help the game any when the community is full of elitist filth, either. It's the one part of World of Warcraft that poisons the game enough that some people just stop subscribing and move on to find something with a better community.
