Voice Acting

Would anyone here like to be a voice actor?

 

i'd love to but i don't see it ever happening.

 

I'd like to, though I'm not sure if I could. I do voice acting by myself though

 

I am actually going to VoTech for Audio Electronics.
I will have many things at my disposal and will be able to learn how to use some of that technology.

I do wish to go into it as a career in the future, along with other things revolving around my voice. Right now though, I am trying to get a somewhat good mic so I can do some stuff.
Gotta have something for a resume.

I might try and get into some indie games or something as well at first.

 

I'd love to do some voice acting again. I did some for a few projects on JD over a year back and I have to admit really had fun doing it.

I do have to get my mic back but the one I have would probably work for now.

 

I have thought about it and would not probably be half bad but I don't think i would ever pursue it as a career maybe some simple stuff for fun but that would probably be it.

 

They dont seriously translate anime into dutch, except for a few lame shows and my english isnt all that good to voice english anime. I doubt anime fans are waiting for someone with a stupid accent and stuttering on some words With my 3 words of japanese i also dont have a very good chance to voice subbed anime im afraid.

 

My goal is to be a voice actor. I've practiced solo and even played a couple parts in my friend's movie.

 

I'll check in the morning. I should have a file I recorded for said movie on a flash drive.

 

I reckon it would be cool to do and if i have the chance in my life i would jump at it! but the competition is fierce, like 600 starving dogs to a piece of steak vicious. Unless you have several years of acting ( not just voice over) but actual stage, film or other professional theatrical work under your belt, you're not going to be considered by any reputible studios. There's a couple of big name VO's who got the job without having any experience but that was at a time when dubbed anime was nowhere near the level of popularity it is now, and more often than not they knew someone who was already in the business.

Also there's a degree of genetics to it, no amount of training can get you an interesting voice. You could train for years but never get the same voice as Steve Blum, Greg Ayers or Vic Mignogna, an interesting voice is very important. An identifiable voice is key for making distinguished characters and forming your own unique niche in the market.

I would love to do it, but i don't think its a career I'd pursue or even do well.
