Alright, now I have a question for this sort of thing, but before I ask the question, let me ask a hypothetical one:

Suppose that you were, sometime in the past, discriminated at a local fast food restaurant by an employee (i.e.: s/he wouldn't hire you because you were black, disabled, etc.) and you file a complaint against this fast food place with the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission), the local state labor organization, and a number of other places. In other words, if you were to enter that restaurant and attempt to order something, the person who discriminated against you, who may be working when you go in to order, may make you feel very uncomfortable (i.e.: ask you various questions, spit in your food, etc.).

Basically, because of this, you don't trust this particular restaurant one bit because of that person and because s/he may influence his/er employees to do what he would do. The other issue is that this is the only restaurant of the chain within a decent travel length and you still wish to eat there. And, you still wish to eat at the establishment because you still enjoy their food.

So, say you went into the restaurant and wanted to order a shake. My question is this: would it be unlawful for you to record them making said food in case they may attempt to do something to it (i.e.: drop it on counter so it breaks, spit in it, put foreign objects/liquids in it other than spit) and beforehand promising to delete it after the transaction is completed?

If the restaurant had a history of treating me like that, I don't think it would be wrong to do that, but if it were me I'd probably just stop going there altogether

Not unlawful but any fast food place has the right to refuse service to anyone and if you were being this insistent of filming them be expected to get 86'ed. What's the issue anyways?
